Speedy deletion nomination of HOMAGE[edit]

Hello Evan.oltmanns,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged HOMAGE for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

List of cruisers[edit]

I appreciate the changes you just made, but since all of these ships have wlinks in the sections immediately above and below, don't you think you might have violated the rule against overlinking? I'm not going to revert you, just asking. Tfdavisatsnetnet (talk) 19:38, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I was following the format of the other sections, but now that I look closer, the page as a whole seems to have an odd flow to it with Long Beach (for example) being mentioned and linked to all over the place. Evan.oltmanns (talk) 19:42, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly. That 'odd flow' is exactly why there are duplicate links, and yes Long Beach is the biggest 'offender' being found in more sections than any other ship. I dithered over taking out the nuclear section links, and did it only after getting my knuckles wrapped for similar edits on other pages. So I have no vested interest in being RIGHT about this.
One thing I will mention is that the 'odd flow' is in part because a simple list, especially if it is very large, is boring. The 'odd flow' is the result of trying to make 'points of interest' for the reader to have their interests sparked. I do hope this works. Thanks!
