It would appear that you are using your user page for excessive web-hosting again, something which is suppose to be avoided per guidelines WP:UP. Plus as you will recall, your old profile DimitrisLoveIvi (talk · contribs) was indefinitely blocked on 8 December 2011 for similar activity. Be cautious and prevent falling into old ways again. - I'm not too sure about those sections either. Karlwhen (talk · contribs) has similar information and has been asked to remove the content, as has Claus Michael2 (talk · contribs), who's first account was blocked by Amalthea (talk · contribs) for using their user page to hold such content. If in doubt, familiarise yourself with the guidelines at WP:UP. If something isn't mentioned as prohibited, then in my opinion I'd be inclined to say it would be safe. - (talk page stalker) While your userpage should be primarily about your Wikipedia related activities, some personal content is allowed, and I myself have a some on my userpage - it is good to learn about the people you work with after all. Personally, I thought what you had before was tolerable; it's pages and pages of it which is really problematic, but there is no hard and fast rule and different editors have different views when it comes to interpreting WP:UP and WP:NOTWEBHOST. Strikethrough text on articles
Just a quick note to let you know I've undone the "strikethrough" that you added for Aalborg on ESC 2014 article. Striking-through cities that are not successful isn't something we've done on previous articles, as it is untidy and distorts reading for partially sighted people. What we have done on previous articles that had bidding phases (2011, 2012, and 2013) is highlight the winning candidate city in bold, whilst leaving the unsuccessful ones in normal text. Article updating
Hi Eurofan,
Thanks for updating Eurovision Song Contest 2014 with confirmation of the UK. However, I just wanted to remind you of a few things that you seem to be forgetting to do when you update articles (and I have noticed this very regularly lately).
- If you add/remove a country from the confirmed list, please make sure that you also update the participation numbers in the following places:
- Article's infobox,
- Article's lead, and
- Participating countries section.
- User:Bokikz ended up updating the infobox, and I ended up updating the participating countries section. These updates should have been done by yourself when you updated the article - not leaving it to others to tidy-up afterwards.
- Also I spend hours and hours of precious time tidying up the {{cite web}} tags with missing data, because the relevant data fields never get completed correctly. In this update of yours you never added the publication date (which looks like this |date= ). The publication field is the most important information on any citation we add, as it provides a reference date for editors in the event the citation becomes a deadlink and we need to establish an archive date. |accessdate= is to show when an editor accessed the source, and |date= is to show when the source was published.
I wanted to hightlight these issues with you in case you were not aware, or maybe forgotten to do them. It may be a helpful tip to add a link to {{cite web}} somewhere on your user page as a handy reminder for future reference. Wesley Mᴥuse 17:59, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry for not updating, I had it in my mind but I had to make some other posts on a forum and I completely forgot. As for the {{cite web}}, I didn't know the difference between |accessdate= and |date= but I thought that they had the same usage. - Not to worry, glad that I provided some helpful information. To be fair, I only learnt a few days ago that {{cite web}} also has a field |trans_title= for sources that are not in English, and requite the foreign worded |title= section to be translated into English.
