A tag has been placed on Texas Technology Students Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.texastsa.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Texas-TSA-Handbook2016_17.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

Conflcit of interest editing[edit]

Texas Technology Students Association[edit]

Hello Ethridgem, thanks for disclosing your interest. Copyright is automatically granted and even if you do not claim it, it applies. As copyright owner you do have permission to reproduce extra copies. However on Wikipedia we need proof of that. It could be that someone is pretending to be the copyright owner, but is not, they could be impersonating you. The simplest way for you is to add a copyright notice to your own website to say that all content is released under public domain, as you can do that in USA. Other licenses that would be compatible are CC-0 or CC-BY-SA-3.0 (the last requires attribution). Graeme Bartlett (talk) 22:46, 6 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
