Northern Soul (film)[edit]

Hello, I am only too pleased to help. Firstly you would be advised to add any references in-line (ie along the text to which they relate) and not in a separate section just listing a number of references. Editors will pick-up on claims of chart positions and sales and if not adequately sourced, they will get deleted. I would also stick to reliable sources such as quality newspapers, the BBC etc. Tabloids such as the Star, Mirror, the Metro and sites which are user written (that is those where the public write reviews) are not considered reliable. This goes equally for blogs, fanzines, Facebook and Amazon. Northern Soul Film - Reception Citation[edit]

Thanks for your reply. However the sentence, "The film has had a warm reception with the public and critics alike" for which you've requested a citation is a self-penned and general statement. The citation would have to somehow link to multiple external sources - more than one favourable review from a highly regarded critic, for example, as well as viewers, coupled with documented evidence for high viewing figures. As this is not possible in a single link or citation I have relied on the multiple references and links we have provided, which all attest to the popularity of the film.

Then there are the 3 major award nominations which themselves attest to a degree of critical acclaim.

In light of all this I feel to insist on a citation for that particular statement feels unnecessarily pedantic?

We also have email evidence from the record company who released it for the CD sales figures and chart position but there isn't anywhere online where we can link to - let me know what can we do to use this evidence for example?

File permission problem with File:Claire Garvey.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Claire Garvey.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
