Information icon Please do not use styles that are nonstandard, unusual, inappropriate or difficult to understand in articles, as you did in Anglo-Spanish War. There is a Manual of Style, and edits should not deliberately go against it without special reason. Please see examples at MOS:DABPRIMARY. Peaceray (talk) 14:57, 25 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Salvadoran-Honduran War (1871), is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Disambiguation link notification for November 17[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Second Central American Civil War, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page 16. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Emilioveh! Your additions to Draft:Second Central American Civil War have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 23:00, 17 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Battle of Los Llanos de Santa Rosa[edit]

Hello, Emilioveh,

Thank you for creating Battle of Los Llanos de Santa Rosa.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Not clear from the sources provided that there was actually a battle, or, if there was a battle, that it was notable.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Mccapra}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

@Mccapra: Hello there, I wish to find someone experienced to make the articles of the wars that mentioned in the List of Wars involving Honduras page, there is a lot of content that is important and they don't have their respective Wikipedia page. If you would like to make them I would thank a lot.
Sincerely
Emilioveh (talk) 08:32, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Emilioveh[reply]
That’s a good approach to take, but you have to write articles based strictly on what reliable sources say. I have just done a Google book search for “1852 Los Llanos de Santa Rosa“ which brings up plenty of interesting material about the place but absolutely nothing about a battle that year. So based on what I can see there may have been some very minor skirmish that barely received any attention, or there wasn’t a battle at all. It would be better for you to pick a larger or more obviously notable event. Then do your search for references and build up a set of links on your sandbox page. Then start writing based on what those links say. Writing the article first and then looking for references afterwards won’t work. Mccapra (talk) 08:41, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Mccapra: Can you make one for the other ones please I would be thankful Emilioveh (talk) 08:53, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your contributions to 1851 Honduran Expedition to Nicaragua. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. 141Pr {contribs} 10:20, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

March 2024[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Spanish–Algerian War (1775–1785). This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. R Prazeres (talk) 17:00, 6 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have sent you a note about a page you started/ concern about possible hoaxes[edit]

Hi Emilioveh. Thank you for your work on Domínguez's Expedition to Honduras. Another editor, North8000, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

Concern about possible hoaxes. This was first tagged by senior NPP reviewer @Mccapra: and tagged with concerns as lacking sources and a possible hoax. I attempted a NPP review in May and am unable to even confirm that this happened. The sources are off line books (most without page numbers) and when I looked elsewhere where it might have been mentioned it was noticeably absent. Looking at creators other edits, it was many articles moved to draft space for not being supported by sources and edits on other article which reversed content (e.g. reversing who won a battle) there which were immediately reverted. Trying to use this article to sort this out, @Emilioveh: please engage at the article to provide some type of persuading evidence that this expedition existed.
