Campobasso[edit]

Frankly, the additions at Campobasso from [1] onwards were awful. I think, the article as it is now is respectable and doesn't need all that redundant material. Let me know and good work. --Attilios 21:32, 18 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ciao! Those edits' would need months of wikification, and was too much for me. Also, there were full of material out of scope (say, introductions such as "The 19th century was a century of social developments" etc) which have no right to exist in such an article. But, if if you find something interesting to add, why not? Presently, I'm devoting myself to improve other Italian communes articles as possible (adding infobox, history, main sights etc). Bye and good work. --Attilios 10:46, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Occurrence[edit]

FYI, the spelling is "occurrence", with a double rr.  --Lambiam 20:38, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Northumbrian Crosses[edit]

I've tweaked the wording in Aldfrith of Northumbria. Is that better? Angus McLellan (Talk) 10:51, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I see. 730x750 means "not earlier than 730 and not later than 750", or "between 730 and 750". Angus McLellan (Talk) 11:31, 16 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I saw your message on User talk:J.delanoy in recent changes; I have added a proposed deletion and a {{hoax}} tag to the article, and warned the user who created it. --Snigbrook (talk) 23:23, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

... and I deleted it under CSD G3 - pure vandalism; a blatant and obvious hoax. After reading the first part, "They have been know to reside in industrial freezers", I almost deleted it, but the second part, about the "cult" led by some kid in Virginia, pushed me over the top. That made it very obvious that some bored kid in school decided to write an article and include themselves. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. Cheers! Automated spelling corrections[edit]

I would advise you to be more careful when using automated tools to correct spelling. Far too many of your spelling corrections for "wondrous" were incorrect. Specifically, you should not correct spelling in quoted text when the quote actually contains the misspelling. --- RockMFR 18:47, 24 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When a quote contains a misspelling (or a grammar error), the faulty word or phrase must be signalized by the adverb in brackets : [sic]. It's its very usage. Any encyclopedia needs a flawless and unambiguous spelling to retain its credibility.
But, first of all, a quote should be checked against the original, in case the error comes from the transcription and not from the author, which is often the case. Amongst my last corrections, only two in scores concerned quotes, and one of them (Keats' quote in Shanklin Chine) was in fact an erroneous copy : Keats wrote correctly « wondrous » and not « wonderous ».
Unchecking quotes contributes to the dissemination of common misspellings, which shouldn't be the role of an encyclopedia.

Aissa Wayne[edit]

I didn't understand why you reverted my edit[2], where I simply replaced braces by parentheses. In the Manual of style ([3]), I didn't see anything about the use of braces, but I'm ready to learn. According to you, what was the special purpose of braces in this sentence : « Aissa Wayne - (Actress, now Attorney) Born March 31, 1956 {Appears in The Alamo at the end} » ? Elagatis (talk) 04:21, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't intend merely to switch from brackets to braces. That was an inadvertent click before I was ready. I was removing the entire remark, which I successfully did in the article's next edit, and which I explained in the edit summary: the information was inaccurate and it was inappropriately placed, even if it had been correct information. Hope this clears it up. Aissa appears throughout the film in several scenes, not just the end, and the listing of Wayne's children is not the place to elaborate on the activities of any one of them. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being minor in the usual way.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. With the script in place, you can continue with this functionality indefinitely (its use is governed by WP:MINOR). If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 18:22, 15 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
