1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: 1970s[edit]

A tag has been placed on 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: 1970s, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as articles for deletion. If you can indicate how 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: 1970s is different from the previously posted material, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}} underneath the other template on the article, and also put a note on Talk:1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die: 1970s saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. If you believe the original discussion was unjustified, please feel free to use deletion review, but do not continue to repost the article if it is deleted. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we request you to follow these instructions. Why was this article deleted? Yet the articles for the 50's, 60's, and 80's were left intact. Egoflames (talk) 19:46, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The reasons for the deletion of the 1970s article you can find here. The reason the others were left intact is no one has marked them for deletion. I considered it, but didn't. Maybe laziness. I suspect as soon as they are tagged the same discussion/deletion will apply. I respect your energy and passion for these pages and hope you can focus them on other parts of Wikipedia. I have proposed the others for deletion. You could have done the same - I'm not an admin, so wouldn't be able to actually delete them. Looks like the process will take 5 days - allowing anyone to object. If anyone objects we have to go through the "article for deletion" process to get it all discussed again. Hopefully we can keep it simple with this method. (John User:Jwy talk) 06:09, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
