Hello, Edward.erickson, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I notice that one of the first articles you edited was Edward J. Erickson, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or any other editor to proofread it. To start creating a draft article, just click your user name at the top of the screen when you are logged in, and edit that page as you would any other. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

The one firm rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. It is also worth noting that Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which specifically link them to one company or corporation. If your username does have such a name, it would be advisable for you to request a change of username.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! You can also just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 15:15, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edward J. Erickson Article[edit]

Please provide the relevant section to back up your claim. You're constantly reverting my edit while ignoring the explanation and without any input in the Talk page. If you do not respond to this I will revert your last revert one last time by Sunday and if you revert that again then I'll have to report you. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 11:04, 20 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, your edit is flat wrong. I am Erickson himself. I wrote all of the works cited and a number of others. What I state as my "views" are actually "my views" as published in my books and articles... I cannot prove a negative by citing my work. Anyone can read any of my actual published work and see this. I challenge anybody to show otherwise with actual citations from my work. Many thanks. EJE

I think it's safe to say you're not Edward J. Erickson. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 02:00, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
TheDarkLordSeth, please remember to assume good faith. Edward.erickson, it would be helpful if you could send an email via Wikipedia's OTRS system in order to confirm your identity. The email will remain strictly confidential and the OTRS agent who handles the verification will note only that your identification has been confirmed without revealing any private information provided. The email should be sent to info-en-q@wikimedia.org and please do include a link to this talk page in order to facilitate the request. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:32, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I've talked with Erickson before, the real one, so it's quite hard for me to assume good faith. Maybe he could tell us which specific topic I asked my question about and to which professors he referred me to. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 15:24, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Talkback[edit]

You have new message/s Hello. You have a new message at Ponyo's talk page. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 14:18, 21 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 00:07, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Procedures[edit]

Please take the suggestion above about OTRS because your identity should be confirmed (normally, if someone has a username associated with a notable person, the username is either confirmed or renamed). Editing can be difficult because there are many procedures that need to be followed. In the short term, it is important to not engage in an "edit war" (by repeating an edit); also, don't refer to other editors as "clowns". Ultimately, all material in an article must be verifiable and text that cannot be sourced should be removed (although often lengthy discussions are required first). These core principles are particularly enforced for BLP articles (biographies of living people). If a BLP has information that is significantly inaccurate, an explanation and request for other opinions can be made at WP:BLPN. Such a request should be brief yet clear (what wording is wanted and why) and should be based on policies (see WP:5P for an overview). Johnuniq (talk) 01:27, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like he proved not to be Erickson by calling me a clown. TheDarkLordSeth (talk) 11:36, 22 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
