Hello Dzeidman. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about following the reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  1. Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  2. Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
  3. Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  4. Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. —Paul A (talk) 14:00, 3 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Peter Tiboris conducting at Festival of the Aegean in 2007.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Peter Tiboris conducting at Festival of the Aegean in 2007.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. J Milburn (talk) 21:18, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Do you perhaps have a conflict of interest?[edit]

Hello, User:Dzeidman, thank you for joining Wikipedia. It's a big world, there is lots for an encyclopedia to describe, and it's great to have more people to help in the work.

I notice that you appear to be the author and most-frequent editor of the Peter Tiboris article. Thank you for extending Wikipedia's coverage, and thank you for the Reliable Sources you cite.

However, I've got to say that the article reads like an official biography or hagiography, rather than a neutral point-of-view assessment. And, I see that your contributions to Wikipedia so far are only for this article. Was your motivation for sumitting this article primarily to make Wikipedia a better encyclopedia? Or were you trying to get Mr. Tiboris more visibility? Do you, by any chance, have what Wikipedia calls a Conflict Of Interest concerning Mr. Tiboris? Do you, for example, work for him or for his company, MidAmerica Productions? Or do you do PR for him or that company?

I'd encourage you to read the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. If you have a conflict of interest with Mr. Tiboris or MidAmerica Productions, that isn't a reason to abandon your contribution. But it is a reason for you to declare the conflict of interest, and to seek out independent editors who can help make the article on Mr. Tiboris even better and more neutral.

I welcome continuing the conversation either here or on my Talk page. In the meantime, I'm going to tentatively flag you as a "connected contributor" on the Talk:Peter Tiboris page. If you are not connected, then please let me know, and I will withdraw that.

I look forward to seeing your contributions in many other parts of Wikipedia. I'm sure you have a lot to offer. --Jdlh | Talk 15:22, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply on my Talk page. It looks like you might be more comfortable discussing there, so I created User_talk:Jdlh#Peter_Tiboris_article for us to use. You made several good points, and I tried to address them. As I read it, you were in fact an employee of article's subject at the time of writing, but no longer are. --Jdlh | Talk 03:37, 10 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
