Voting behavior peer review[edit]

The article’s overall status is strong. The existing article covers a variety of sub-topics and has a comprehensive overview of voting behavior. It is well-written, well-organized, and has a good mix of reputable sources. @Ducksarethebestbird draft adds a much-needed expansion on the role of gender in voting behavior. Like the rest of the article, it is well-written, well-organized, and well-sourced. My suggestions are as follows:

Expand upon “issues especially salient to women.” What are those issues? How might you connect this to post-materialism?
Towards the end, you describe what is essentially the role model effect. I suggest calling it that and citing some literature to incorporate more sources and legitimize the effect
The existing section “military voting behavior” does not mention how the military is a gendered career. The second paragraph of "Voting behavior types" mentions that women are more likely to work in public sector jobs, so the military section should mention that men are more likely to be in the military. Military service impacts voting, and is gendered, so it is a notable gendered impact on voting behavior.

The newly drafted section does wonders for the completeness of this article – it addresses a large gap and does so very well. Overall, this is a nearly complete and well-developed article.

Peer Review: Sam (Shirk2)[edit]

The article is in a very good place with a lot of nice information that the original Wiki article does not cover. Numerous sources are used and introduced clearly to paint a picture of why women vote differently than men and in different proportions, as well as how that is stratified by race, class, etc. It’s possible that more readings from class could be used to expand the first section here, as well as maybe some data if it is actually feasible to find. This could paint a stronger picture of how different societal factors play into the gender gap in voting (both turnout and choices) in multiple different cases. The section “Gender Bias in Voting” is important but I wonder if it should be left to a different overall article called “Voter Bias” or something along those lines.
