Air India, Kingfisher

Thanks for the alert - I'll keep an eye on it. It may be helpful if instead of just reverting this person's edits, you provided references in the article itself, edit summaries, and notes on the talk pages - that way other people (like me!) can more easily see what's actually going on. Which article is she/he trying to add registries to? --Rlandmann (talk) 06:42, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The anonymous contributor has also left a note on my talk page. I've responded there, as s/he has requested. Could you please read my reply and respond there as well - I'll keep the discussion over there to centralise it now that there are three parties involved. --Rlandmann (talk) 19:42, 15 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm extremely disappointed that you've decided to continue edit-warring rather than discussing the issues and working together towards a solution. I'll also point out that edit summaries like this are completely inappropriate here - it amounts to a threat to perpetuate an edit war. Remember that the standard for inclusion on Wikipedia is not just "TRUTH", it's verifiability. Even if you or I personally know something to be 100% true, it has no place here unless the fact can be verified by others; and if it's a fact open to dispute, it must be referenced to a reliable source.

As an alternative to simply blocking you, I've chosen to protect the AI article instead, and hope that you will participate in the discussion on its talk page about the problems that you see with the article. --Rlandmann (talk) 19:29, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As I indicated before, the problem here is not whether your claims are true or not, it's whether they are verifiable or not and how the AI article should be structured to fit in with Wikipedia's coverage of other airlines. Please stop shouting at me, calm down, and state your views concisely on the Air India talk page, where I've invited input from WikiProject Airlines. --Rlandmann (talk) 22:47, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of galleries on Air India

During last week few attempts had been made to remove Gallery of Tata Airlines timetable covers, reason given behind this was galleries are not encyclopedic and Galleries are for wikicommons. They are not encyclopedic.

Notabley there is one more gallery present on the article i.e. Gallery of superseded liveries which was never altered.

If there is any logic and rationale (I couldn't find any in Gallery template page, help page, etc.) behind removal of the said gallery both galleries should be removed. On the contrary featured article like Flag of Belarus, Flag of Canada, Postage stamps of Ireland, etc contain Gallery (which means Galleries are accepted even in Featured Articles not to say about unfeatured ones).

As you have been active on this article you are invited to discuss this issue here on talk page.

Emirates Airline

I've finally understood what you're saying, and i understand that Emirates Airline does not have 129 aircaft. However if you look at the date of the link i had put, you'll notice its quite recent. So doesn't that mean Emirates has 122 aircraft. Because 129 (total emirates aircraft) - 7 (emirates SkyCargo aircraft) = 122 aircraft. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MoHasanie (talkcontribs) 11:01, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, BUT that article posted on their website was made AFTER those two aircraft were phased out. Here's the link again:

http://www.nationmultimedia.com/worldhotnews/30096408/Emirates-ups-cargo-capacity-by-17-per-cent

If you read it, you'll see it says that Emirates has 129 aircraft, and 8 freighter aircraft! And the date of that article is February 23, 2009. So please update it, and stop changing it! Also at the end of this month, when Emirates announces its profits, according to their website and this article it will have 132 aircraft, which includes cargo. And if they have 8 cargo aircraft, then that means they will have 124 aircraft at the end of this month.(MoHasanie (talk) 15:09, 7 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Etihad

Hi, while I fully agree with you about the fleet size and sources, I'm getting a little worried that you may be putting yourself in breach of WP:3RR. Maybe you should step back from the issue for a few days? I've already managed to get the page semi-protected for a week to stop IPs adding the stuff. I'm not sure if you have already done so, but there are various user warning templates which you can use to warn other editors to stop vandalising the article - see WP:WARN. Once an editor has been warned and continues to vandalise the article, a report can be filed at WP:AIV so an admin can look over the situation. Mjroots (talk) 08:24, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've flagged the issue at WT:AVIATION as it has been altered yet again and does not reflect the source quoted. Mjroots (talk) 18:27, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To be safe, I'd leave it to others to sort out. That way, you won't be seen to be having WP:OWN issues over the article. I've left it for similar reasons - because I've been in contact with you over this issue I'm also not going to pile in and revert. There are plenty of other editors apart from us. Mjroots (talk) 19:09, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
User Etihadairways has been indef blocked, and from what I can tell their edits have been reverted too. I'm keeping a weather eye on the article but don't see the need for further action at the moment other than what has already been done. Mjroots (talk) 18:40, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Qatar Airways

You seem to right eveyr destination flown using every aircraft in the QR fleet--which makes the whole thing looks cluttered. Plus, you might miss a few destiantions since QR keeps on changing equipment on routes all the time. Plus, QR does not fly to KL using A320's and they stopped using A340-600s to Hong Kong since April. You seem to ignore this and change it back. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Halawala (talkcontribs) 10:46, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Emirates Airline

hi Druid.raul. I know that the Airbus order by Emirates for 30 A330 and A350 aircraft were not fim orders, they are still orders, which means they should still go in the passeneger fleet table, becasue their are not options, and they have been made offcial. It would make sense to put those orders back in the table. We could specify that their are not firm orders. This is what we did for the orders of the A380. The last 11 orders of the a380 are not firm orders, but their still put in the table. So i think i will put the a330 and a350 orders back into the table.

Many airlines do that. They still include the not firm orders in the table.(MoHasanie (talk) 10:49, 1 May 2009 (UTC))[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on British Airways Destinations. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. I would also suggest that when editing it might help rather than keep reverting either when challenged or when challenging an edit it is best to take it to the talk page rather than continue. Also you appear to over use capital letters in edit summaries this is looked on as shouting and is considered rude by other editors. Emirates Airline Fleet

Hi Druid.raul, Why don't we put the total Emirates fleet in the infobox including the Emirates SkyCargo fleet. Because technically if you think about it, they operate as one unit and not a different subsidary of the Emirates Group. Without Emirates Airline, Emirates SkyCargo would handle very little cargo. Its something the airlines competitors have critisced Emirates for doing. So lets include the total fleet, but put a note next to it showing that this figure includes the SkyCargo fleet as well, because we also do the same for the number of detinations - it includes cargo destinations.

Also, there is no confirmation that the Airbus A340-500 was scrapped. Unless there are proper refrences provided we should still include it in the fleet. I do remember reading that the airline was considering either to repair it or write it off, however the airline was still waiting for the insurance company to respond.

And btw, i am working very hard to try to improve the Emirates Airline article. Is there anything you would like to see more of or less of in the article - Maybe more pictures or less, or maybe less information? Thanks (MoHasanie (talk) 15:18, 7 June 2009 (UTC)).[reply]

Airport article formatting

Please stop introducing your own comentary and formatting styles to airport articles - especially only selective articles. There is a project standard notation format which is followed across airport articles to ensure consistency. Should you wich to change it, please discuss your suggestion - at the appropriate place - and then, if editor consensus is obtained, feel free to make any change you wish. Do make sure that any such change is made in all airport articles, not just selective ones. Adding your personal preferences without consensus - especially when its been pointed out several times - tantamounts to vandalism. Jasepl (talk) 04:52, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Undoing Changes

You do realise that all those changes you just undid only make you look foolish, don't you? Those changes just indicated that the flights has started - since it is 1 September. What exactly is your reason for undoing them and what did it achieve? Jasepl (talk) 04:55, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. . I have also sent this notice to User:Jasepl. --Sb617 (talk · contribs) 07:59, 1 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NWA at Bombay

Please stop introducing incorrect information into articles, as you recently did in the Sahar Airport and Detroit Airport destination tables. As has already been pointed out many times by many users, NWA's Bombay-Detroit flight is NOT direct; there is a plane change in Amsterdam. Consequently, Detroit is not a direct destination from Bombay (and the reverse). Your changes have been reverted. Thanks. Jasepl (talk) 19:11, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It seems you're unaware of the project guidelines. Do familiarise yourself with them at WP:Airports and WP:AIRLINES. You will find that a plane change does indeed mean a flight is not direct. In this case, BOM-AMS is flown on an Airbus 330-200 and AMS-DTW on an Airbus 330-300. Everyone disembarks at Amsterdam and changes planes. Ergo, the flight is not direct. Your edits are veing reverted again.
In any event, being rude and screaming yourself hoarse won't make you right. Thanks. Jasepl (talk) 19:33, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And no, none of these are "rules" that I created. They are project guidelines, arrived at as a result of longstanding and widespread editor consensus, and all contributors are expected to adhere to said guidelines. Should you feel the need to do something differently, by all means do so, but after having obtained editor consensus, by discussing your proposed change at the appropriate place. In a polite manner. Thanks. Jasepl (talk) 19:40, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
You've been asked my an admin as well as by me to bring discuss your proposed change at the appropriate place, should you wish. Until you choose to do so, please refrain from making selective edits that simply suit your personal likes. Thanks. Jasepl (talk) 19:50, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, those flights are not direct..please read up the WP:AIRPORTS guidelines. Yes, NW 67/68 runs DTW-AMS-BOM and vice versa. However, DTW-AMS is flown on an A333 and AMS-BOM is flown on an A332, therefore it changes aircraft type. In order for the flight to be direct, it must use the same number and aircraft. If you are against this, please discuss this at WP:AIRPORTS talk page. Thanks! 74.183.173.237 (talk) 19:56, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the guideline from WP:AIRPORTS:

List non-stop and direct flights only. That means the flight number and the aircraft, starts at this airport and continues to one or more airports. Avoid using the description 'via' since that is more correctly listed as another destination. If passengers can not disembark at a stop on a direct flight, then do not list it as a destination or as 'via'. Direct flights are not always non-stop flights. However, avoid listing direct flights that contain a stop at a domestic hub, as virtually all of these are simply flights from one "spoke city" to a hub, with the plane continuing from the hub to a second spoke city. Furthermore, these flights often involve plane changes, despite the direct designation. Including these flights dramatically increases the length of destination listings, artificially inflates the airline's presence at a location and requires constant updating, as these "timetable direct" destinations have little rhyme or reason and may change as often as every week or two.
74.183.173.237 (talk) 20:08, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
To add examples to what 74.183.173.237 has also been trying to explain above, DL 110 routes EZE-ATL-LAX, but Buenos Aires is not listed as a destination from Los Angeles, because there is a change of plane in Atlanta. Conversely, DL flew the same plane ATL-LAX-SYD, but Sydney was not listed as a destination from Atlanta because the two legs has different flight numbers. Basically the aircraft and flight mumber must be the same (except for occasional substitutions etc). Jasepl (talk) 20:13, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
For DL ATL-LAX-SYD, it now runs under the same flight number (DL 16/17) from delta.com. 74.183.173.237 (talk) 20:17, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
They finally changed it? Good! Made no sense to keep it two different flight numbers in the first place. Jasepl (talk) 20:28, 2 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AI & IC's fleets

The fleets changed again? Wow! Based on your nearly daily edits (which are largely unsourced and unvalidated, by the way), they seem to be remarkably nimble airlines! For PSUs such as AI and IC where sloth seems to be the defining characteristic, it is indeed amazing that their fleet grows and changes on a daily basis! Ne penses tu pas ?Jasepl (talk) 10:32, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Air India/Indian Airlines - September 2009

The DEL-ATQ, BOM-BLR etc flights are not Air India flights. Whatever code they may carry, they are operated using Indian Airlines aircraft. The two airlines are in the midst of a merger process, and there has been much discussion as to how such a situation is to be handled. The agreed-upon method his to list the flight under the airline who's airctaft operate the route. Hence Northwest's BOM-AMS flight is listed under Delta (because a Delta 767 operated the flight). Once an NW-owned 332 takes over, it will be listed as a Northwest flight. The case of Air India and Indian Airlines is just the same - routes are being swapped all the time, and various codes stuck on flights. In the end, what matters is the owner of the aircraft. Since Air India do not own a single A320-family aircraft, all of those flights should be listed under Indian Airlines.
Once the merger is complete (ie: a single operating certificate is obtained), then feel free to list all flights under Air India. Until then, however, flights on Indian Airlines' aircraft will continue to be listed as Indian Airlines' flights.
Should you have a differing point of view, or wish to list things a certain way, please discuss the matter first at the appropriate place. If there is general editor consensus, then my all means go ahead and make thechange you desire. Until then, however, your edits are being reverted to follow the agreed-upon logic. Thanks. Jasepl (talk) 14:42, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Interesting recent changes related to AI/IC. Take a look here. No prizes for guessing who was screaming things like "Air India operated by Indian Airlines" is a Code-Share Flight. Your user page

I've deleted your user page per your request. This means a white American has now done you a favor. Just thought you might like to know that. Beeblebrox (talk) 17:52, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Inappropriate page moves

Please do not move user talk pages to article space; I will assume good faith and choose to believe that it was a mistake. For whatever reason, the editors in the threads above have not seen fit to report your behaviour to WP:AN/I, where a less forgiving admin might see fit to award you a temporary block. You have another opportunity to edit constructively here; don't throw it away. Steve T • C 19:04, 29 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AN/I

Please see WP:AN/I#User:Druid.raul where an issue has been raised re your editing. Mjroots (talk) 18:58, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please know that, if you insult or personally attack any editor again, as you did here, I will remove your editing privileges permanently. Take this seriously, please. Thank you, Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 19:19, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
After seeing the borderline racist rant above, I've gone ahead and blocked you indefinitely. Blueboy96 20:58, 5 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject India Tag & Assess 2012 Contest

Hello friends, we are a number of editors from WikiProject India have got together to assess the many thousands of articles under the stewardship of the project, and we'd love to have you, a fellow member, join us. These articles require assessment, that is, the addition of a WikiProject template to the talk page of an article, assessing it for quality and importance and adding a few extra parameters to it.

As of March 11, 2012, 07:00 UTC, WikiProject India has 95,998 articles under its stewardship. Of these 13,980 articles are completely unassessed (both for class and importance) and another 42,415 articles are unassessed for importance only. Accordingly, a Tag & Assess 2012 drive-cum-contest has begun from March 01, 2012 to last till May 31, 2012.

If you are new to assessment, you can learn the minimum about how to evaluate from Part One of the Assessment Guide. Part Two of the Guide will help you learn to employ the full functionality of the talk page template, should you choose to do so.

You can sign up on the Tag & Assess page. There are a number of awards to be given in recognition of your efforts. Come & join us to take part in this exciting new venture. You'll learn more about India in this way.
