October 2009[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to make constructive contributions to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to IFMSA – Egypt, did not appear to be constructive and has been automatically reverted by ClueBot. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you believe there has been a mistake and would like to report a false positive, please report it here and then remove this warning from your talk page. If your edit was not vandalism, please feel free to make your edit again after reporting it. The following is the log entry regarding this warning: IFMSA – Egypt was changed by Dra3b (u) (t) blanking the page on 2009-10-11T09:35:37+00:00 . Thank you. Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to the page IFMSA – Egypt. Such edits constitute vandalism and are reverted. Please do not continue to make unconstructive edits to pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thank you. Skarebo (talk) 09:40, 11 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Cairo and Chicago[edit]

As far as I can see, Cairo is twinned with NYC, not Chicago. See: http://www.sister-cities.org/directory/IntllistingsResults.cfm --Funandtrvl (talk) 02:03, 27 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology of "Camera"[edit]

I have reverted two of your edits re the etymology of "camera". Your assertion the word is of Arabic origin doesn't make sense, since in the Latin derivation, camera just means a chamber or room, and word obscura is needed for a darkened one. Without reliable etymology sources, we can't accept these changes.  BC  talk to me 04:16, 3 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

September 2010[edit]

Please do not replace Wikipedia pages with blank content, as you did to the page Emsa.egypt. Blank pages can confuse readers, and are overall not helpful to the Wikipedia project; furthermore, blanking a page is not the same as deleting it.

If the article you blanked is a duplicate of another article, please redirect it to an appropriate existing page. If the page has been vandalized, please revert it to the last legitimate revision. If you feel that the content of a page is inappropriate, please replace it with appropriate content. If you believe there is no hope for the page, please use the appropriate deletion process.   — Jeff G.  ツ 22:39, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Call for Wikipedians in Residence in Africa[edit]

Hello,

I hope you are well and thriving!! WikiAfrica has just put out a call for two Wikipedians in Residence. One in Cape Town at WikiAfrica, at the Africa Centre; and the other for WikiAfrica Cameroon in Douala, at doual’art. If you are interested, please contact either Marilyn [marilyn.doualabell@doualart.org] for the WikiAfrica Cameroon call or Isla [islahf@africacentre.net] for the WikiAfrica position in Cape Town.

If you are not interested in applying, I would be very grateful if you could spread this call far and wide among your networks to ensure that both projects get excellent candidates. Here is the link for the information page: http://www.wikiafrica.net/two-wikipedians-in-residence-for-africa/

Best regards, Islahaddow
