October 2014[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Mantis (roller coaster), without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. Wikipedia has some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. December 2016[edit]

Hello, I'm Trut-h-urts man. Your recent edit to the page Edwin Encarnación appears to have added premature information about a reported sports transaction, so it has been removed for now. The transaction is based on anonymous sources and/or awaiting an official announcement. If you believe the transaction has been completed, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Trut-h-urts man (TC) 15:54, 23 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Formal mediation has been requested[edit]

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "McCarran International Airport". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 19 January 2017.

Discussion relating to the mediation request is welcome at the case talk page. Thank you.

Request for mediation rejected[edit]

The request for formal mediation concerning McCarran International Airport, to which you were listed as a party, has been declined. To read an explanation by the Mediation Committee for the rejection of this request, see the mediation request page, which will be deleted by an administrator after a reasonable time. Please direct questions relating to this request to the Chairman of the Committee, or to the mailing list. For more information on forms of dispute resolution, other than formal mediation, that are available, see Wikipedia:Dispute resolution.

Until the name Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is confirmed officially (that means by Disney), we should not be moving the page. --Elisfkc (talk) 21:38, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It was in the HTML Code of the Disney Parks blog and has been confirmed by multiple reliable third party sources. MitchellLunger (talk)

Not good enough. We should be looking for something from a reliable source like well known newspapers (like NYT, LA Times, USA Today, Attractions Magazine, Orlando Sentinel and they say it is confirmed by Disney), a press release from Disney, or something from the Disney Parks Blog. Sources like WDWNT or Chip & Co. or random Twitter posts do not count, as they are not reliable. HTML code is also not reliable as a source, as it could literally have any name used. We need something official. Elisfkc (talk) 21:53, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
We're good now with Chapek announcing it. Elisfkc (talk) 22:28, 15 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Help Me![edit]

What is a QPQ and how do they work? What are "Did you know nominations" and how do those work? Thanks! MitchellLunger (talk) 02:36, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK showcases new or expanded articles that are selected through an informal review process. The QPQ, or quid pro quo, means that for every page you nominate as a DYK candidate, you should review someone else's DYK nomination. The full process for nominating pages is at WP:DYK, and it will do a much better job than simply me summarizing it. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 02:56, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that this is already covered in detail in the already existing article Spider-Man in film. I'm going to redirect the article. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 05:19, 2 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Star Wars Hotel[edit]

On 10 August 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Star Wars Hotel, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a hotel shaped like a starship, based on the Star Wars franchise, is planned for Walt Disney World? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Star Wars Hotel. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Star Wars Hotel), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Help me![edit]

I need help adding logos! I am looking to add a logo to the Steel Vengeance (roller coaster) page and need to know what the policy is for adding logos and how to add them an infobox.

MitchellLunger (talk) 16:00, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The most important issue with logos is copyright, particularly the non-free content criteria (since a logo is highly likely to be copyrighted and not released under a free license). If the logo in question is a general Cedar Points logo, not specifically the Steel Vengeance logo, it probably should not be added to the rollercoaster article. If the logo meets the non-free content criteria, you can upload it via the File Upload Wizard. The infobox has an |image= parameter; put the file name there once you have uploaded it to display it in the infobox. Huon (talk) 18:18, 17 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Changing the 'Hypercoaster' wiki drastically[edit]

Hi MitchellLunger, I started this Wikipedia account a few days ago with the intentions changing and correcting Wikipedia pages about the amusement branche. I was looking at the Dutch 'Mega Coaster' Wikipage and saw that a lot of things were very, very wrong. I was looking at the English Wikipage about Mega Coasters and this one was contradictory too. Me and a other Dutch speaking Wikipedia author are on a mission correcting these pages drastically and right. I will explain the following in paragraphs numbered 1 till 4:

1. Mistakes Dutch Wikipage 2. Mistakes English Wikipage 3. The starting process 4. Exchanging information

Mistakes Dutch Wikipage[edit]

The mistakes made on the Dutch wikipage were too bad. Really. The page told us a Mega Coaster is counted in 3 groups: Mega, Hyper and Giga. What's wrong about these is that 1st Mega a model name is from Intamin AG[1] and Mack Rides[2], second Hyper[3] being the model of B&M, Arrow Dynamics[4] and Mack Rides[5] (larger than the Mack Megacoaster) and Giga[6] being a model from Intamin. All hypercoasters from B&M having the minimal height of a Giga aren't actually a Giga, but still a Hyper. Heights: Intamin Mega Coaster 45 meters (148ft) till 90 meters (295ft) Intamin Giga Coaster 90 meters (295ft) till 120 meters (394ft) B&M Hyper Coaster 50 meters (164ft) no max.

This are the 'approximate' heights of the models and the other companies are using these heights too. With some information from RCDB we will get to it.

Mistakes English Wikipage[edit]

The English Wikipage was to be honest a well advanced Wikipage with correct information, but with common mistakes like parting B&Ms and Arrows into Giga's while it's just a model name, where they don't belong to. Read previous paragraph for further information.

The starting process[edit]

The starting process is probably the most difficult time for a Wikipage. Common things like "Oh, I forgot about that" "I did not have enough time to involve in any of these Wikis..." etc. When we make a deal, we talk furthermore.

Exchanging information[edit]

Information can be found on RCDB, for European coasters we are available for questions, if we are able to ask about non-European coaster to you.

I hope to hear from you soon,

Kind Regards --Rc030 (talk) 20:33, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please help me with..removing Outlaw Run from the Category

Hybrid roller coasters. I’m unable to do so from the Outlaw Run page without completely removing the categories section.

MitchellLunger (talk) 05:02, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Hybrid category is added automatically by the infobox at the top of the page, because the infobox contains the type=Hybrid parameter. If you remove that parameter from the infobox, the category will also be removed. Yunshui  09:14, 12 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Rise Pies requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company, corporation or organization, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. –Ammarpad (talk) 08:38, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Rise Pies Logo.PNG[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Rise Pies Logo.PNG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:37, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Untitled Disney Resort moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Untitled Disney Resort, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Note on adding unsourced content[edit]

A cup of coffee for you!

Hey, I'm Flooded with them hundreds. I noticed that you added content to an article but didn't provide a reliable source. You should cite a reliable source for all of your edits so that they can be verified. In Wikipedia, verifiability means that other people using the encyclopedia can check that the information comes from a reliable source. Adding unsourced content contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial.

Wikipedia does not publish original research, which refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist. Its content is determined by previously published information rather than the beliefs or experiences of its editors. Even if you're sure something is true, it must be verifiable before you can add it. The verifiability policy requires inline citations for any material challenged or likely to be challenged, and for all quotations, anywhere in article space. Articles should be based on reliable and published sources (see Wikipedia:Neutral point of view) and if no reliable sources can be found on a topic, Wikipedia should not have an article on it.

Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Flooded with them hundreds 12:33, 22 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. 1. The parks in New Braunfels, Galveston, and KC going to Cedar Fair which are retaining the Schlitterbahn name

3. The park in Corpus Christi which licenses the name from Schlitterbahn Waterparks and Resorts.

You added your own words to make it sound more intense, plus you were so quick to get it in there that you did not even put the ref in the correct spot not to mention you just put the website there with out even crediting the original author including the PR statement from Schlitterbahn and both times you would just revert instead of doing a proper edit ~ I finally just gave up because you were starting an edit war with me. Not trying to argue with you but you need to properly edit your sources ~ instead of letting some other editor do it for you ~ ~ Mitchellhobbs (talk) 02:05, 14 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Attraction incidents[edit]

The incident at Valravn (roller coaster) was removed as such incidents, while notable, should not be given undue weight unless they are one of the reasons why the attraction is notable. For example, let's say that an incident occurs where people are killed, which prompts the removal of the ride. That would indeed be a significant part of the ride's history and would be worthy of inclusion in the main article. Fortunately this particular incident isn't severe at all, and in due time will be forgotten, or remembered as a mere hiccup. The summary article Incidents at Cedar Fair parks, as well as those for the other major theme park companies, covers all of these lesser (but still notable) incidents in the proper form. --McDoobAU93 12:05, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It doesnt matter if its a minor incident or not, and it really isnt a minor as it damaged. Also what I was adding is the standard accident information that is present on every Disney, Universal, Six Flags, and Cedar Fair ride that has its article and accident. Its covered in both places.DisneyAviationRollerCoasterEnthusiast (talk) 14:46, 28 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Actually it does. Please review this section, and if you have questions, please respond to that component. And it's not "every" ride because "every ride" hasn't had an incident; that would also fail under WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. Thanks. --McDoobAU93 12:23, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Lets discuss this further on Valravn's talk page.DisneyAviationRollerCoasterEnthusiast (talk) 03:52, 2 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Play Pavilion has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:CRYSTAL. The only source on this is a vague announcement that something will eventually be built with a target opening date of 2021. Content can be merged to Wonders of Life, but this article should be deleted and not re-directed because "Play Pavilion" is an entirely speculative title. The Disney press release specifically states that future pavilion is as-of-yet un-named.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Nomination of Play Pavilion for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Play Pavilion is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Uncle Dick (talk) 22:39, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Improperly Closing Requested Move on PLAY![edit]

FYI, it was improper for you to close the requested move on Talk:PLAY! since you were involved with the discussion. Per WP:RMCI,

An involved editor, admin or otherwise, may not close a move request except for one situation:
  • The proposer may close their own move request as withdrawn if no one has commented yet, or if opposition is unanimous.

It is also poor etiquette to move a page while a requested move is still under discussion. I have withdrawn my requested move per WP:RMCI since you have agreed to abide by the official naming convention established by Disney. Uncle Dick (talk) 20:05, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your change is helpful[edit]

But on https://www.viacbs.com/ their logo has already changed and appeared in its current form, meaning that the move may confuse users who were used to the old page before the move took place. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.54.163.113 (talk) 00:12, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Delta Air Lines Flight 2231 deletion in Accidents and Incidents table[edit]

Hello, DARCE. Your addition of Flight 2231 happens from time to time (aircraft sliding off runways and taxiways) during the winter months at cold weather airports and usually results in no injuries or damage to the aircraft so it is not a noteworthy incident like the other incidents in that table. Your addition was deleted 2/28/2021 and was put back 2 months ago by you and should be deleted. Just my opinion, but other editors feel the same way. Moving the page in the midst of a discussion was a bit premature, but it worked out this time considering the way the talk page discussion was going. It's more of a formality to wait while discussion is underway. --GoneIn60 (talk) 17:22, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
