Playboy Enterprises

Thanks Dismas for the lastest re-edit of some article I edited before, I am quite new to WiKi. I am just a little bit confused at this stage. I checked some of the articles about Playmates,Playboy, the most external pages are link to Playboy.com, so why is not allowed the external pages link to Playboy.co.uk (the playboy UK/EU domain)? Stephanie Adams

After contacting Goddessy.com to inquire about the information mentioned in the article on Stephanie Adams, they confirmed that the information was false and defamatory and she sued as a result of it. They also said that they would be contacting Wikipedia's general counsel to have this information removed. But I just removed it because it was never added in the beginning and the person who added it was doing so to be malicious. When mentionings in articles might constitute some sort of libel, it might be better off to avoid the issue entirely. Don't you think? Swiksek (talk) 15:00, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Spencer Scott

You mentioned in passing during the debate about Stephanie Adams about a personal Playboy collection. Can you do me a favour and check in the collection to see what birthdate is given for Spencer Scott, October 2007? Occams razor

Just wondering what you found so funny about my mention of Occam's razor?

I have a weird sense of humour! I read it as a sort of pun, Tarzan trying to shave with Occam's razor. Sasha Grey birthplace

Thx for your message. (FYI: I did check the talk page), I was just going by Wikipedia's policy: "Unsourced or poorly sourced contentious material about living persons — whether the material is negative, positive, or just questionable — should be removed immediately and without waiting for discussion, from Wikipedia articles, talk pages, user pages, and project space." It very well may be true that she was born in Sacramento and that the user Tabercil really is in touch with her via email (as stated in the talk page), but there's no way to verify that information unless it's published somewhere. I'm not to sure how contentious the issue is, but out of curiosity I googled Sasha Grey and Gary, Indiana and the first result is an interview from a porn newspaper(?), where she responds to the question, are you really from Gary, Indiana, "No... I just write that on MySpace to fuck with people's minds...But I'm really from Sacramento, California."., which is verifiable, and supports her birthplace as Sacramento, though I don't know how reputable it is. Someone keeps vandalizing/removing the playmate stats in the article on Playboy playmate Stephanie Adams. According to the history of playmates being recorded on Wikipedia, all playmate stats were added as far back as 2005, and removal of one is not consistent with all of the playmate articles. As it is stated in the talk page, Caroline Cossey lives in the United States where sex change is not recognised. So, you must conceed that person is not considered as a female by every legal system.

Actually, as this "condition" is not recognised in every country (and defitely not by every religion, philosophy, etc.), I think that it would be better to avoid pronouns in article about transexualism and to use formulas such as "this person", this 'human being". But you've still a little way to go before beating the Cummins family of Virginia: their 5 natural-born children were all born on 20 February, in 1952, 1953, 1956, 1961 and 1966. And special mention must go to the Henriksens of Andenes, Norway: their 3 kids were born in 1960, 1964 and 1968, all on Leap Day 29 February. Quite a feat to coordinate that one. Hi Dismas! It seems a bit silly to not include this person in this category seeing as her main claim to notability is in association with Playboy? There is the same problem with Amy Sue Cooper- she is definitely notable only for her appearance as a Playboy model so surely she she should be in a Playboy category? • Hi- it appears that Amy Sue Cooper was in the Playboy category for a long time and she was only removed when a person changed it to a Playboy Cyber Girl category which was then deleted?   • Hi, I think we do need some kind of category as it is nonsensical not to categorize these people by what has made them notable- perhaps we could simply have Category:Playboy models which could cover NSS models and Cyber Club models (most notable Cyber Club models are NSS models anyway)? Maybe we could have Category:Playboy Playmates as a sub category and make it clear that celebrities that modelled in any Playboy media (apart from Playmates) are not to be included? Castle hotels

Hi Dismas, I'm afraid I cannot really help you with your question so I decided to answer here instead of at the Refdesk. I've been to dozens of castles all over Germany, but my parents were the prototypical campers driving around on weekends with their LT, so we never stayed at any hotels (I seem to have more or less inherited the habit, so I have no personal knowledge of hotels anywhere in Germany). Problem

I am facing a strange problem in the article Anti-tobacco movement in Nazi Germany. The article uses Harvard referencing. All of it works. For example, if you click this, you will automatically go to the last book in the reference section. But if you click this reference, by rule you should go to the second book in the reference section. But this is not happening. Can you tell what is the problem here.
