Hello Dionysius Miller Thank you so much for editing my page so the updates are there I am so pleased. I assume it saved without me making it live somehow. Thanks so much for your time and expert help. Best wishes Ann 2A00:23C5:3F19:9601:7C0F:C45D:D2C3:30E2 (talk) 15:05, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely! Happy to help! Dionysius Millertalk 15:32, 2 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Dionysius Miller, is this picture directly provided by Susie Orders? 0x0a (talk) 13:22, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It was, yes, according to my correspondence with her she received it at some point within the last 15 years from West Virginia University following the death of her husband and the subject of the photo, Bob Orders. Dionysius Millertalk 13:57, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your information. 0x0a (talk) 14:13, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
One more question, was it shot or published in 1953? 0x0a (talk) 14:23, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It would almost certainly be both shot and published in '53, although I am still yet to find the details behind either. Dionysius Millertalk 14:30, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I've updated the file info accordingly. 0x0a (talk) 14:49, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks a bunch! Dionysius Millertalk 14:55, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Were you planning on submitting this to WP:GA? :) « Gonzo fan2007 (talk) @ 02:58, 27 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I was not intending to, no. What makes you ask? Dionysius Millertalk 20:27, 28 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My aplologies[edit]

I apologize regarding my inappropriate comment made in this topic (i.e. "...you haven't read it..."). It was an accusation for which I have no proof. I was just guessing, and I was quite likely mistaken.

In another instance, regarding my "liars and scammers" accusation, it was only a hypothetical comment, as in "a possibility should be considered". However, my comment does sound quite aggressive, so I should have used a more appropriate and milder expression. Z80Spectrum (talk) 10:25, 3 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for taking the time to write this out. At no point did I think anyone involved (yourself included) had less than the best intentions. It's a learning experience for both you and I. Happy editing and may our paths cross again. Dionysius Millertalk 14:01, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to your email (Dr. Chayne Masaki-Ellis) Wikipedia deleted page[edit]

Dear Sir, thank you for your email offering to assist in the about mentioned page. Since the deletion of the page I have received 13 offers to edit and assist in the new page for Wikipedia. The cost being offered starts at $600 - $1,200USD, for the rewriting, editing and reviewing of the new page. I have notice that you did not show the cost to assist in making this Wikipedia page. Firstly, please send how much you will charge. This must be new as of the last 23 years the Japanese Government departments didn't pay. So, as you said I and the other helpers do not know the all the rules of Wikipedia. If fact there are 2 pages- 1. Masaki-Ellis 2. Kyoko Masaki-Ellis *his wife. Unfortunately, Dr. Ellis can not help us as he is a full time carer for his wife. Currently she is in the END STAGE of her cancer. However, Mrs. Masaki-Ellis continues to talk to other cancer patients giving them hope. Note. Her page will not be submitted until after her death). So, this project has 2 pages. I would like to note that when Japanese write about someone it is always respectful as it is our culture. Vs the western style. I have spoken to Tokyo and they have confirmed that both pages should be completed, either in Wikipedia or the other platforms. So, to go forward, I would be happy to work with you in preparing these 2 pages. Please advise how to process from here? and advise of your cost? Lastly, if Wikipedia wonder why these 2 jobs are important is because Dr. Ellis is a foreigner, who has done more for the Japanese Medical Associations than Japanese's doctor. The letters from the Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Japan governments are impeccable. His wife, Kyoko, has changed the Japanese system for cancer patients in Japan. As you could image Japan is 50 years behind the western world, however, these 2 individuals has succeeded. So, please advise, I look forward in receiving your expert advise and support... Bless you.... Masayoshi Yamamoto (please call me Masa) Yumesaki Himeji (talk) 06:12, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

One thing which is very important to note is that offers to write pages for money can often be scams and such offers need to be considered with great care and would need to go through a process of declaring a "conflict of interest". I never have and never will accept nor charge payment for writing/editing any article. I thoroughly enjoy the volunteerism of Wikipedia and view its global collaboration as a source of pride in humanity.
Although I have never written in-depth about a medical professional, I do have some experience in biography articles on Wikipedia. If you were interested I would be very happy to help write the article for no charge at all. I enjoy writing and I enjoy the positive impact left on the world, so the only payment I need is the knowledge of having made a difference.
If you would like to accept my assistance I would be able to get started right away with research. All I need from you is the full name of the individuals, their professional/societal contribution, and a city would be helpful. Any articles written about them would also be greatly appreciated. I hope that I can be of service! Dionysius Millertalk 17:56, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Mr. Miller, shall we begin. Please Cc to this email - yamamoto.masayoshi.professor@gmail.com It should be noted that almost all information is in Japanese, Magazine, newspapers, websites etc. This website is the PIE group where most information and Dr. Ellis's publications can be found. https://www.piesanda.jp/ The newspaper and magazine article's can be sent to you. I will need to copy them and send them. Please give me a little time. Blessing Yumesaki Himeji (talk) 22:19, 9 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Appalachia articles by quality and importance indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 18:12, 16 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Dionysius Miller,
I don't think this category is useful for your WikiProject as you already have assessed articles based on quality and based on importance, to then sort out all of these hundreds of articles based on quality AND importance would be very time-consuming on your part and doesn't provide you with any helpful information or organization and would require you making dozens of more assessment categories. There are some large WikiProjects who do this kind of granular division of articles but they have dozens of participants and seemingly an abundance of time, if not now, then years ago when their assessment categories were created.
Just a note about Wikipedia's policy on empty categories, they sit for 7 days in case they have been emptied improperly and then, after a week, if they are still emptied, they are deleted. However, if a category has been deleted simply for being emptied (unlike being deleted through CFD), they can be recreated whenever they are needed again in the future. So, this isn't a "forever deletion", it just means that this category isn't needed at the moment. I hope this offers a little more explanation with this notice. Liz Read! Talk! 04:08, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you want to explore what is necessary to do this kind of dual categorization, you can check out the WikiProjects who use this system at Category:Articles by quality and importance. Good luck. Liz Read! Talk! 04:10, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Funny enough, I am actually the nominator. I made these with the intention of using a preexisting bot but have since found that a different bot is simpler. User:WP 1.0 bot/Tables/Project/Appalachia accomplished this task. It isn't useful per say, but it's fun. Thank you for your time and consideration and also: Wow you're productive on this site! Thanks for your commitment! Dionysius Millertalk 13:54, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Additions to DICK's Sporting Goods page.[edit]

Hi Dionysius Miller, I see that you have an interest in Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania. I am trying to update the Dick's Sporting Goods page, and I hope you will consider implementing the edit request I posted at Talk:Dick's Sporting Goods#Additions to page. Since DICK's Sporting Goods is headquartered in Coraopolis, PA and the sponsor of so many sporting events, I thought you'd be an appropriate person to edit their page. Thank you, Amanda144 (talk) 13:28, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help on this, Dionysius Miller. The edits look great. I have one more update to the Dick's Sporting Goods page for now, and I'd appreciate it if you would take a look: Talk:Dick's Sporting Goods# Updates to DICK's Sporting Goods Foundation section. Thank you, Amanda144 (talk) 13:45, 11 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

COI Edit requests[edit]

Hi @Dionysius Miller, thanks for helping out with COI edit requests! Earlier today you answered a request on Talk:Dick's Sporting Goods without closing the request. In future please ensure to change {{edit COI}} to {{edit COI|ans=y}} once the request is answered. This ensures that the request is removed from the bot-generated pending requests list, I've closed this one for you. I'd also like to thank you for your extensive response, not all requests get this. Many thanks, Encoded  Talk 💬 17:50, 1 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Katherine Sleeper Walden[edit]

The article Katherine Sleeper Walden you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Katherine Sleeper Walden for comments about the article, and Talk:Katherine Sleeper Walden/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article is eligible to appear in the "Did you know" section of the Main Page, you can nominate it within the next seven days. Hi Dionysius Miller, it is probably, strictly speaking, best not to close your own GAN. That said, could you please add it to the relevant list at Wikipedia:Good articles/History. Best, CMD (talk) 03:41, 23 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
