Speedy deletion converted to PROD: Xabier Lete[edit]

Hello Dewritech, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on Xabier Lete to a proposed deletion tag. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow to protect the encyclopedia, and do not fit the page in question. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Steven Zhang Help resolve disputes! 11:26, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Steven, for me the article (merely a name plus link to a basque site) qualified for A1 and A7. Don't you agree?-- Dewritech (talk) 10:28, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Hey there. There's a reason I changed it from a speedy to a PROD. The article had almost no content, but it did have an under construction template on it. A fair balance between removing the speedy altogether and keeping it there seemed to be a PROD, so that's what I did. Hope that clarifies my intent. It appears that the article is still being worked on, so let's see how it goes. We can always speedy it (or delete as a result of the PROD) later if needed. Regards, Steven Zhang Help resolve disputes! 10:34, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, got the point. Thanks!-- Dewritech (talk) 10:35, 19 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I´m working for a school project and I need some time to finish writing the article about Xabier Lete, and that is the reason why I erased your comment for deleting the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by OI-12-i.zarain (talkcontribs) 17:31, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you tagged for G11-spam, whereas I deleted it for A7, non notable. Doesn't hugely matter, but it wasn't really that spammy, but it certainly wasn't notable. GedUK  12:37, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of JusTeach Foundation[edit]

Dear Sir/Madam,

I do understand that Wikipedia has a strict non promotion policy, and that this is essential to maintain the credibility of Wikipedia, and that Wikipedia is making a huge difference.

The organisation JusTeach provides education to children in Mysore city, I believe that it also tries to make a difference, and it is critical that potential volunteers who will be teaching these kids know about it.

I find it unfair that wikipedia only permits huge corporate bodies to have a wiki-page but that organisations such as ours who genuinely strive to make a change are blocked. I believe that this is not what wikipedia is about.

Please do find below a link to newspaper article in Si Lankas leading newspaper which speaks of the veracity of the work we do http://www.dailynews.lk/2013/04/30/fea31.aspw

Also the link to our webpage: www.justeach.in

If you find any material in our wikipage which you believe must be removed, you could inform us about it before deletion, this makes the process more Just. I hope you do consider restoring our page to its original position

Thanks for your time,

Speedy deletion nomination of Optimeez[edit]

Hi Dewritech, I would like to have more details if possible on the deletion of Optimeez, I just created. The page is quite informative and useful. It is about a tool that is largely used, well mostly in Europe. I was planning to add some more references. Still, there are quite some internet marketing solutions that are less famous than Optimeez that have their INFORMATIVE encyclopaedic page on Wikipedia. Can you help me understand more. I would appreciate any tips on rewriting it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arlind29 (talkcontribs) 12:09, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,this page is not a company, corporation, organization, or group that does not credibly indicate the importance or significance of the subject, It is just a tool for users to learn more about it and Blu-ray player software, just like Microsoft Office. Altered speedy deletion rationale: Finnbay[edit]

Hello Dewritech. I am just letting you know that I deleted Finnbay, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, under a different criterion from the one you provided, which doesn't fit the page in question. Thank you. GedUK  12:03, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm, this isn't a particularly helpful template. You taggegd it for spam, which is really wasn't as it was only a line. HOwever, it had been to AfD before and was deleted, so I deleted under that rationale instead. Doesn't really matter in the end! GedUK  12:04, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Accurate Technologies Inc[edit]

The article for the Company Accurate Technologies Inc was selected for what you call a speedy deletion. I closely followed the “your first article” guidelines. I also found existing wikis such as this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ETAS_Group, who are in the same classification to influence my writing style. All resources were sited, and definitions tagged. There was no advertising in the article, just the impartial history of the company and its products. This company has been around for over 20 years. They are a part of ECU calibration history. They are not a conflict of interest to wiki, otherwise articles such as http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vector_Informatik and the one listed above should also be removed. I am happy to make changes, I just need more specific areas that you feel are in violation. — Preceding Rowebot86 comment added by Rowebot86 (talk) 12:31, 6 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your help with Odin (Android). I just wanted to let you know that the author User talk:Zuhairishraq removed my original tag for G11 speedy. I think G2 may not qualify as if it was a "test" page why would the user remove the tag? I will leave it as G2 unless you want to change it to G11, as long as it is deleted. I just wanted to let you know that I declined your G11 speedy deletion nomination of AirPatrol Corporation, because I feel that the article was not unambiguously promotional. I removed the products section from it, which I felt was the most promotional part, but other than that, I can't see any problems as far as advertising is concerned. If you feel there might be another problem with the article, particularly notability, you can submit it for deletion under WP:PROD or WP:AfD.--Slon02 (talk) 01:02, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Use of CSD G11[edit]

This article may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion because in its current form it serves only to promote an entity, person or product, and would require a fundamental rewrite in order to become encyclopedic. However, the mere fact that a company, organization, or product is an article's subject does not, on its own, qualify that article for deletion under this criterion. Nor does this criterion apply where substantial encyclopedic content would remain after removing the promotional material; in this case please remove the promotional material yourself, or add the

tag to alert others to do so. See CSD G11.

I have changed Emin Iskenderov to an advert tag. By all means go at the article with scissors. In ictu oculi (talk) 04:48, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think you're in India, it will be difficult for you to judge notability from far away !  :) Taylor.fu (talk) 15:28, 2 July 2013 (UTC)taylor[reply]

Typo fixes in Wikinews pages[edit]

Full marks to you for finding and fixing so many typos! Here's an extra subtlety: when the typo is in a page title copied from Wikinews, as at Portal:The Gambia/In the news/Wikinews, the only way to fix the error is to ask for the page to be renamed at Wikinews. Otherwise the bot simply re-imports the bad spelling. -- John of Reading (talk) 19:18, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of IHC Sealing Solutions[edit source[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles. A tag has been placed on IHC Sealing Solutions requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable. If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. @Dewritech: Thanks for patrolling new Wikipedia pages and giving me the change to contest the deletion. This article is already published on the dutch version of Wikipedia (https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/IHC_Sealing_Solutions). IHC Merwede and IHC Lagersmit (changed to Sealing Solutions in 2012) are a significant part of dutch maritime history. Our history book is even a part of a dutch maritime museum (http://www.kortewegmaritiem.nl/publicaties). We have a rich history and are acknowledged as being one of the biggest and most important shipyard in the 18tha nd 19th century.

Speedy deletion declined: Mithun Roy Chowdhury[edit]

Hello Dewritech, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Mithun Roy Chowdhury, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not unambiguously promotional. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 22:52, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Shirt58, thanks for your message! According to Criteria for Speedy Deletion "Promotion" does not necessarily mean commercial promotion: anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organisation, a point of view, etc. In this context this stub with 5 pics, many refs not mentioning the subject, and citing unreferenced warnings against Tipaimukh Dam appeared promotional to me. And thanks for your message. Yeah, the script-assisted message doesn't leave much room for subtleties. Perhaps it should be changed to address concerns exactly like yours. I've been roundly (and justly) criticised for being both too eager to keep and too eager to delete articles. I like to think that sorta evens out. See you at the AfD, and thanks again! Hello Dewritech please do not delete the page Mithun Roy Chowdhury, the details of the five pictures are updated. And Mithun Roy Chowdhury is a environmental activist of Bangladesh. there are very few number of environmental organizations in Bangladesh and Mithun Roy Chowdhury presides one of them and he presiding the said organization very successfully. thank you. Thiv's page should not be speedy deleted because...[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... instead of just deleting it, could you try to fix it or point out what exactly is wrong, remove the alexa rank if you must, but honestly i just copied and edited Blekko's wiki page, as they are a similar search engine, sorry for any issues but, i'm not exactly sure whats wrong or what to do? Can somebody properly make this page, or do I have to do it for the 3rd time? -- Gamblehawk (talk) 13:07, 20 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is the Speedy should be this much Speed?[edit]

Dear Dewritech,

I have not even figured out yet how to write you back. You have deleted my article too quickly that I was not even able to write a response. I totally respect your decision. However, I would be glad if you would give me chance to write you back for just couple of minutes before deleting the page. The article was about a building as famous as Empire State building in NY for the inhabitants of Turkey and was incomplete because I have just started to write it. I certainly know that I have also given a short information about the company who have acquired it. However, I think that the future of a such important building is also important, especially for people who have concerns on the preservation of its historical and social value. I hope that this was the right way of writing you back. Anyways, thank you for voluntarily taking care of Wikipedia. Just, it would be better if you give people some chance for newbies, at least for couple of minutes. I have actually written you a more extensive clarification on the article however, I do not know where it has gone.

Sincerely, — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akaniklaus (talkcontribs) 18:35, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion Nicolas Chalvin[edit]

What are the criteria to imagine an admission for a classical music conductor ? Nicolas Chalvin conducted several orchestras in different countries, recorded several CDs and broadcasting and is musical director of a French Public Orchestra. This may be not enough in the opinion of this deletion. Is this correct. Maybe Wikipedia watchers also attend to musical performance in order to construct their opinion or have a special relation with French artists (Despite their international careers, fews seems to deserve an English biography (Philippe Hersant, Cédric Tiberghien, François Frederic Guy, Quatuor Debussy but I guess this is because few wikipedia contributors are familiar with the classical music standards...)

Typos fixed that don't correct anything[edit]

A number of your recent changes have made "corrections" to articles without actually correcting anything. This fix changed from "was a inent American public health entomologist" to "was an inent American public health entomologist", without any consideration of what an "inent" is. This edit changed wording from "the privately owned Morgan Cemetery which sits on a overlooking the Raritan Bay" to "the privately owned Morgan Cemetery which sits on an overlooking the Raritan Bay" without any apparent realization that there is no such thing as an "overlooking". Can I suggest that you spend a little more time by trying to ensure that your edits make sense, which will be more likely to improve the articles being edited. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page German (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Contesting deletion[edit]

Recently, you deleted informations added to me in the page about the Gibson J-200 guitar, one of the few guitars to make an notable appearance on movies about music (not even the SG and Flying-V owned by Dewey Finn on School of Rock were notably mentioned, as they are common guitars for that role), and i'd wish you to tell me (by email, if you can't answer to me by this page) why do you think it's not an useful information, as i think Wikipedia's articles would contribute even more if their informations were as complete as possible. (Please, do not misunderstand things, i'm not about to get into a discussion about how complete Wikipedia's articles are, i just wanna know what reason made you to delete that specific info...) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 179.187.23.230 (talk) 18:10, 12 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi[edit]

Hello, greetings, Sallamu Alaikum. I invite you to collaborate in the article Afro-Latin American, your opinions and guidance would be much needed and appreciated, thank you. There is an issue on whether to include Afro descended people (Hugo Chavez)(Vicente Guerrero)(Maria Bethania) on the page, as there is no place to post population numbers of multiracials, pardos, mulattos, chinos and Venezuela's mestizo(in venezuela the term means Euro/Afro/Indo). I suggested placing them on the Afro Latin American page because the term does not mean (black latinos) but instead "those who identify partially or fully with some african heritage". And due to Latin Americas history of castes, the castes with some african ancestry have always been grouped with the black latinos (especially in the case of Brazil, Venezuela, and Columubi. I couldn't place then on the White Latin American page because it is solely for latinos who identify as white and not mixed. I hope you see my dilemma and can give your input which would be most appreciated. Thank you. Abdelrahman93 (talk) 23:58, 28 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Macedonian empire[edit]

Hello I wrote a small article about the Macedonian empire, you notified me that my article will be deleted because is already covered. I am already aware about that, thats why i choosed to white such a small article, actually a tiny summary of what Macedonian empire would mean ...but....the reason i did it is because more than one times i have found links that lead to the Macedonian empire article and the article was of course empty. pe: link exist at the Jewish article about the Jews of Greece or even on the English article of the Hellenistic period...etc etc. I think is better to have a small article that will lead you to the proper direction than to end at an empty page that will tell you that such article doesnt exist and request you to be the first to write it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Irigoni (talkcontribs) 19:59, 6 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Prove notability with reliable sources and avoid promotional language.-- Dewritech (talk) 20:40, 11 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again, additional reputable sources were added to the page proving notability. Further, language was changed to make clear that this is page is not unambiguously promotional. I am not sure why you flagged the page again for speedy deletion. Could you please explain? I understand that this page might not be the most interesting information to you; however, this page is useful and informative to many in the field for which it is intended. Lastly, it is a non-profit organization that is active in the Washington, DC area and like many of the members involved in it deserve their own entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SmBizInnovators (talkcontribs) 21:10, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The language is still promotional and the given sources do not prove notability, many of them do not even mention your organization.-- Dewritech (talk) 21:38, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion Tag on TopDoc[edit]

Hi Dewritech. I received your message about Speedy deletion nomination of TopDoc: "because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia."

Thank you for your opinion. To address your concerns, I will now make amendment and mention why this e-health services are important nowadays. "The reason why this e-health service is important is that it can save and/or better peoples' lives when it comes to emergency and accuracy of medical needs. Imagine a patient has urgent medical need and he or she cannot find a doctor/dentists (In Hong Kong, most doctors or dentists do not work on weekends.) E-health service like TopDoc enable patients to find these doctors instantly thus to resolve their medical needs. The second reason is about accuracy of treatments and diagnosis. The doctors and dentists on this e-health platform are verified and monitored by patients with their feedbacks on the website: in terms of professionalism, manner, and overall rating. In such way, patients can choose the best doctor for his or her medical condition."
