Hello. My days as an editor of this encyclopædia have ended. Feel free to leave a message at the bottom of the page if you wish, but don't expect a reply.Dennywuh (talk) 18:59, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He seems to have replied. I left a note on the talk pointing you guys to WP:IPC, it seems quite relevant. GoodnightmushTalk 20:58, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've left one more comment on at Talk:More Cowbell you might be interested in reading. Just thought I'd let you know here in case you're not still watching the page. GoodnightmushTalk 15:41, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pop music overhaul[edit]

Hello. I'm working on a serious overhaul of the terrible pop music article and a few other pages are coming into my line of fire. Particularly List of popular music genres, categories with one single item, and West-centric POVs. If you find stuff that looks unfinished, please don't correct it as I'm probably already working on it, or will be back soon. Give me a few days, but if anything is still wrong then, pray let me know. Thank you. ↔ Dennywuh (talk) 20:54, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pop Music link problem[edit]

The link was fine. No problems at all. I checked already. Good job though. Keep it up! Arbiteroftruth (talk) 05:35, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Top Gear Test Track[edit]

Which image in particular? The first picture should be of the surrounding area, which I just searched for on google images. The actual graphic was a google image search, it's on page 1 - Sonydrone Wordpess, I think. There is a similar version of that on a wikipedia.ro, which I guess is Romanian wikipedia? But it looks similar, but is tragically smaller, so much that the key names cannot be found. I hope that information helped you! Alex Holowczak (talk) 17:30, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I also cannot find how long the track is. I tried on Google Maps to find out, but it didn't recognise the runway that the track goes over, sadly.
One more thing... I can only see one image (i.e. two images, but the same image, albeit one is smaller in the infobox). The info box should show the actual park itself with the runways, and I uploaded the wrong picture initially. I then uploaded "over the top" of that if you like, and as a result, I'm left with this issue. Can it be resolved in a way you know how? Alex Holowczak (talk) 17:49, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for looking at the copyright stuff - I didn't know the policy or anything else to do with it, so I figured to just stick them there and see what others say/do. Regarding the track layout picture, I'll try to make my own version of that, using the image as a base for what I'm drawing. I'll get back to you when I'm done (it may be a day or two). Alex Holowczak (talk) 18:49, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's what I've done. I've drawn a map over the Google Earth image, and am now trying to erase all the greenery around it (leaving the black line of the test track). Then I'll stick an arrow on it (i.e. the direction of the track). I can then copy and paste it into the JPG format. I can then add corner names around the outside. Top Gear End Credits[edit]

I placed it as incorrect as the event technically took place at Lillehammer, not back in the day at the 1994 Olympics. I can now understand why you put it there, but I still didn't think that the linking was to the appropriate destination. Said link already goes to Lillehammer under the Challenges, when they fired the Mini from the same episode with the same mention of the "Winter Olympics" episode. Sorry if I caused any confusion. Pop music[edit]

Sorry for my lack of explanation for my edit - I added capitals in line with convention.Theelf29 (talk) 02:14, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I saw you've been working a lot on the article. As for the songs in 1960s, there are 3 motown male group songs and I think it's too many. How about to remove two and use some other songs like a Supremes song or an Aretha Franklin song or a Dionne Warwick song or whatever? And while there are 3 surf pop songs, but the only one Beatles song? I'd like to hear your opinion. Thank you. Oda Mari (talk) 10:05, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I saw the change. Thank you very much. Happy editing! Oda Mari (talk) 14:28, 27 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sumai[edit]

It was me who made the changes you consider to be POV on Catalan Countries. Could you explain in what way they are POV? I changed them for bad english and relevance, the first paragraph didn't make sense, the second (about Valencia TV3 scandal, yawn) practically began "this has nothing to do with Paisos Catalans but..." and didn't make sense in English. If you feel it should be included, I would encourage you to re-write these paragraphs so they make sense (as I feel I did with the first one) and explain the relevance for the second one. Diolch yn fawr. Boynamedsue (talk) 16:40, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you drunk or just naturally bad mannered?
The edits I made at PPCC have res a veure with the discussions at Catalonia. The ones at Catalan language, which you also gracelessly reverted, were removing POV and replacing it with fact. I've put sources there to support the facts now, and changed the language. So if you still feel offended, change the text (with evidence) and improve it. Boynamedsue (talk) 17:16, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Can you find any source proving that Cataln was illegal? The reason I put that sentence in is that nowhere have I seen any law from the Franco period banning SPEAKING Catalan. I have heard many people say Catalan was banned, but there is nothing written down proving that, when pushed they usually cede that you were allowed to speak Catalan. If I'm wrong, I would be genuinely interested to see proof of it.
Apologies for initial comment, an over-reaction on my part to what I saw as an unwarrantedly aggressive tone in your edit summaries and reply to my comment. Please find attached the copy of Viquipedias chronology of the repression of Catalan: http://ca.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecuci%C3%B3_del_catal%C3%A0 Boynamedsue (talk) 19:20, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Major misunderstanding, I thought I'd written Spanish. Absolute apologies from my side. I can see why you sounded so wound up now. Well done for picking up on it so quickly. It should read "all advertising and signage had to be in Spanish, as did all written communication in business". I'll fix that error, then if you want to read it again to see if there are any other issues, I hope we can talk about it in a more civilized way. peer review[edit]

I was wondering if you could take some time out of your schedule to head over to the Heroes (TV series) talkpage and give us an honest peer review. The page has gone through some major changes in the last few months, and it would be fantastic if a prominent editor/contributor like yourself, could head over and give us at the Heroes Wikiproject some sound opinion and ideas on improvements for the page. We have all worked very hard at improving the page, and we need great outside, reliable and trustworthy users to come over and help us improve. I you are interested in joining the peer review discussion with other prominent users/contributors, much like yourself, please follow the link. Thank you very much for your help and your continued effort to improve Wikipedia and its quality! Oxford Wikimania 2010 and Wikimedia UK v2.0 Notice[edit]

Hi,

As a regularly contributing UK Wikipedian, we were wondering if you wanted to contribute to the Oxford bid to host the 2010 Wikimania conference. Please see here for details of how to get involved, we need all the help we can get if we are to put in a compelling bid.

We are also in the process of forming a new UK Wikimedia chapter to replace the soon to be folded old one. If you are interested in helping shape our plans, showing your support or becoming a future member or board member, please head over to the Wikimedia UK v2.0 page and let us know. We plan on holding an election in the next month to find the initial board, who will oversee the process of founding the company and accepting membership applications. They will then call an AGM to formally elect a new board who after obtaining charitable status will start the fund raising, promotion and active support for the UK Wikimedian community for which the chapter is being founded.

You may also wish to attend the next London meet-up at which both of these issues will be discussed. If you can't attend this meetup, you may want to watch Wikipedia:Meetup, for updates on future meets.

We look forward to hearing from you soon, and we send our apologies for this automated intrusion onto your talk page!

I might be trying to work on a page you started (list of popular music genres). Would like to learn about the blue side of wikipedia.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
