Did you see the discussions?[edit]

Did you see the Template:History of Armenia discussions? Eupator was contradicting himself, cause earlier in discussions he mentioned Vahan Kurkjian pointed out Mitanni's location in Armenia. So now he is saying Mitanni is not located in Armenia, but yet if Persians and Indians are from Mitanni also, look how far they are now. Also, Eupator doesnt see Tigran the Great as Armenian?? Thats what he said, he said Tigran is not Armenian, which as you know was the greatest extent in Armenian lands, covering the entire Mitanni location Ararat arev 02:16, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Its not based on location only. I mean since we are native to the Armenian Highlands, and Indo-Aryans , that is Persians and Indians migrated from the Armenian Highlands, then Mitanni has Armenian roots. The key word is "participated" and "root" right? Ararat arev 02:30, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Mitanni used Sanskrit which is Proto-IE or roots of IE, which as you know I told you earlier, no other IE people have the 8 or 9 sounds we have, showing we are the roots of the IE. So Mitanni spoke IE, and also Hurrians are the same people from Mitanni going to east and building the Urartu kingdom. Ararat arev 02:31, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hittites should go also but its more about Mitanni, because of the Armenian Highlands, Nahrin/Nairi, "land of rivers" Ararat arev 02:34, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In fact Hurrians are Aryans. The word Hurrians as I told you or "Hurri" is used to this day in Armenian, referring to Sun with wings, or fire, flame. The spiritual meaning of fire, like light, spirit. Also Assyrians prounced Nairi and Egyptians Nahrin, which meant the same "land of rivers"(These semitic peoples word) Ararat arev 02:36, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did I mentioned that I found the names of the Mitanni are in Armenian? I found on my own in the translations shown on the page. Artatama meant "most righteous" the Arta part from Armenian righteous. Tusratta is "10 chariots" Tus from Armenian 10.etc etc. Artak Movsisyan also mentions in his book Ararat arev 02:38, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Before we add anything, let's agree with these guys Eupator and the others. Let's add Hittite also. I agree what you're saying Ararat arev 02:44, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You mean info from Armenian historical sites? Like from my links here at the bottom? http://myspace.com/30451865 Ararat arev 03:02, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You know whats interesting about Sasoon, is located in historic Mitanni. Also, I just remembered Mitanni was also known as Arme-Soupri(Armeni-Suberi) Look at one of the links Azgaser's site he explains about Sasoon in Mitanni (Armeni-Suberi) Ararat arev 03:05, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here is the part:

"We think that much before the Achaemenians, in the times of Mitani, the name Mihr was already known to the people, particularly to those living in the regions of Mitani or Armani-Subari (and later Arme-Subria) where Sasun is located, in the form of Mitra (or perhaps even as Mher). Otherwise, it would not have been so readily accepted by the people during the Achaemenian period or later." Ararat arev 03:07, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Davo88, here is some more info about Mitanni in Kura-Araxes_culture (it mentions in the Mitanni page):

"In certain theories for locating the Urheimat (homeland) of the Proto-Indo-European language, this culture (and perhaps that of the Maykop culture) is identified with the speakers of the Anatolian languages, and even as an earlier Urheimat. Scholars Tamaz Gamkrelidze and Vyacheslav Vsevolodovich Ivanov attempt to place this Urheimat in Armenia. " Ararat arev 04:07, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Here is another one in History of Armenia:

"Another early culture in the Armenian Highland and surrounding areas—the Kura-Araxes culture—is assigned the period of ca. 4000 - 2200 BC, and is believed to have subsequently developed into the Trialeti culture (ca. 2200 - 1500 BC). Armenians are one of the oldest Indo-European subgroups.'""

This says one of the oldest, but its the oldest IE and roots. This is also how I see it, the Chinese are the roots of Japanese and Korean. Just as Armenian is roots of Persian and Indian. Chinese has all the sounds and complete language, and the Japanase and Korean took from them and simplified it. Those sounds are not all in the Japanese and Korean. Same goes with Persians and Indians. Those sounds are not found in Persian and Indian, the 8 or 9 sounds we have , and our words are very similar (we are Aryaee as we say in Armenian also like them) We are the roots of those 2 Aryan peoples just as Chinese is roots of Japanese and Korean. Ararat arev 04:13, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Davo, did I help out on the Sasun issues? Did yiou read the infos? Is it good now to discuss about adding in the Template or ? Ararat arev 21:39, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Davo can I get your say in this?[edit]

Compare the 2 pages Urartu and Mitanni on the map and image settings. Get your say in this so we can leave it like that. It looks better what you think? Lets get a map and image there in both pages . Ararat arev 19:32, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Were discussing in Talk:Mitanni and Talk:Urartu. Ararat arev 21:58, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh i thought you knew! Click here Nareklm 05:21, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I put the seal back... There's nothing wrong with it, it doesn't even say that Mitanni is Armenian. Unless someone tells what's the problem with the seal, it should stay there. Oh, and please stop skirmishing in my User page. -- Davo88 05:35, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

First of all Ararat is evading his block a big violation, another thing is why in the world should a kings seal be all the way in the top of the page?! Nareklm 05:38, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ararat Arev[edit]

Gedzesss Davo! Can you also make sure they dont remove the Ararat picture in Armenia page at the bottom? The photos wher they are the "wrong tag" is there. Can you correct it? Or find a good Ararat image with good tag

Davo, the Armenian dance picture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armenian-Dance.jpg they are trying to remove, but they were mistaken, At first I thought the picture was from Sayat Nova cause I had on my computer. Then i found its in akhtamar.org and Jkelly is the copyright handler and they emailed him permissions@wikipedia.org and was approvved. Please let User:Dbachmann lknow it was approved. Thank you!

Wrong url its http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Armenian-Dance.jpg

Just leave Dbachmann a message and tell him to check with Jkelly it was approved they emailed to permissions@wikiepedia.org

Lets make sure they dont mistake again. Cause the copyright handler approved , akhtamar.;org emailed and they approved and I put tag it was ok, per User:Jkelly admin for copyright images

Davo please tell Narek to not do this kind of things? Instead of helping our history , he is reverting some of the things Im doing whifch is actually right for our history and for Armenians for Hyes

Its not just the kings seal. Its the very Mitanni seal. Its Mitra the (sun temple in Garni is even Mitra) that is the Sun symbol man. The very symbol of our Armenian history in worship in truth

He's removing in ignorance Davo, tell the guy

I mean I cant expplain in every detail here. I just say something else also, the Mitani kings names render good "SUN" great "SUN" etc etc All about the SUN symbol of Mitanni

You wouldn't have had this problem if you hadn't called the file Armenian-Mitanni. It is the reader that has to judge and understand the links between the 2. -- Davo88 05:54, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know thats what it is. Hey I let Thanasimii a message to put the Dbachmann map which he said is better. So just put that Dbachmann map if Thansimii is not going to put it. Dbachmann said this map is bad and his is better so put the other map its in the edit history check inthere. Its in Talk:Mitanni

Its this one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Mitanni_map.png

I mean we can find better ones, but this is ok

I can't just force them to accept that ugly map, but I left a comment in the talk page. -- Davo88 06:08, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re. user Davo88[edit]

Hello Davo and thank you for contacting me. Well, I don't intend to involve myself too much in this dispute, but it seems like both of you find references for opposite views. When two colliding points of view are properly referenced, I suggest stating both in the article while indicating which reference backs each one. Anyway, I strongly recommend that you always use edit summaries to explain your actions. If you still fail to reach consensus, I might suggest WP:RFC which might be useful to attract other users and their feedback to the dispute. Above all, please don't start an edit war and always be civil and constructive towards other users. Best regards, Húsönd 04:49, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bank takeover[edit]

lol good timing on the revert, see what I added to the talk page to 1896 Ottoman Bank takeover. It's what Khoikhoi said about the addition of that category (which is up for deletion) to ASALA. - Fedayee 19:02, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom[edit]

Due to your aggressive editing of Armenia-Azerbaijan related pages and ongoing ArbCom [1], your name has been added per administrators determination that: "Anyone aggressively editing these articles should assume they are a party. Add their names and give them notice. No motion is necessary. Fred Bauder 13:48, 15 March 2007 (UTC)" [2] You are now a party and subject to all the applicable rules and regulations and injunctions. --adil 22:59, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tabriz[edit]

I've reverted him, and moved his comment from User talk:192.147.67.12 to Talk:Tabriz. I don't think it would be a good idea to semi-protect the article, because there's only one anon reverting. It would have been better if it were coming from multiple sources. I have warned him for 3RR instead. Khoikhoi 19:16, 4 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia[edit]

Hi. Why did you change "Cilician gates" to the Turkish version of the same name in an article about Armenia? This is the English-language Wikipedia, so the English name should be used, not the current Turkish name. And why did you add the "History of Turkey" category to it? -- Davo88 19:18, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for late reply,I am online just now.
There is no any deletion in the article by myself. "Cilician gates" is antique name of the pass named as "Gulek pass" in modern times&geography.I keep historical name as well.
"Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia" was a historical state in the geograpy of Turkey;ie. in Çukurova, Turkey. So this historical state is in the scope of "History of Turkey" as well as "History of Armenians".

V. Mamikonian[edit]

Hey Davo, sorry about replacing your image without asking you. You're right, the image I scanned really is much more grainy than the high quality one you uploaded. If it really bothers you, you can change it back to yours. --MarshallBagramyan 19:01, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:[edit]

I essentially resized the old Tigranes map, played with the contrast, and retraced the whole thing using MS Paint and IrfanView. I added more details to the area (especially on Lake Sevan, Lake Van, Cyprus, and the Absheron peninsula) and I used the map's original source (from the Bournoutian book) as a reference for place-names (hence why I have "Dsopk" as opposed to "Sophene").

It was a pain and it took me a couple of days to do - taking into account that I have lots of stuff going on in my life right now. However, I was committed to restoring a decent version of that particular map. I couldn't stand that purple-yellow color but it illustrated the extent of Tigranes' empire so well. The alternative map found in the Hewsen book and on Armenica's website doesn't really make that point, but instead makes it look as though his entire empire was built on dependencies, etc. -- Aivazovsky 22:30, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My drive behind that was the mere fact that "Coca-Cola" is represented in that picture on the umbrellas. If anything, it makes Armenia look more "Western". :D -- Aivazovsky 02:35, 4 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Davo, no need to get upset aper, you know that everything you say can and will be used against you. Drink some Armenian apricot juice it will calm your nerves :) See you in Armenian wiki --VartanM 17:13, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kings of Cilicia[edit]

Hello. Concerning a debate between me and User:Hetoum I recently (see it here), I would like your opinion concerning the renaming of articles on the Armenian kings of Cilicia from their long accepted titles to ones which Hetoum feels are more appropriate based on the Armenian language and on the best sources. I disagree at least with the use of Gosdantin and Levon over the English names Constantine and Leo. I also believe that the consistent enumeration which did not distinguish princes and kings was most useful. Thoughts? Srnec 05:32, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Armenian Genocide - Armeniapedia link being attacked[edit]

Folks, it seems the integrity of Armeniapedia as a valid source is under attack on the Armenian Genocide article. One Turk simply questioned it, and the very same day another user immediately removed it without any discussion. Now these 3 are preventing the reversion to add the link, which as I state there has possibly the largest collection of digital documents on the genocide. It's amazing to me, and I hope some of you are actually around to vouch for the site, as these folks don't seem to have actually even visited the site, or really care if it's of any value, instead asking irrelevant questions like, "what if there was a Turkopedia, would we include that??". Your input would be appreciated. --RaffiKojian 17:16, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
