AI contestants

I know you've done some activity on the American Idol season 5 semifinalist articles and stubs. There's currently discussion on the issue (namely, whether or not the semifinalists desrve such attention) on Talk:American_Idol_(Season_5). Your participation would be appreciated! --Emperial 00:21, 26 February 2006 (UTC)

I have declined your request for unprotection. This was a deletion/protection made citing an OTRS ticket (ie. information sent in an email to the Wikimedia Foundation's email response team). The deletion/protection was done by Zscout370 (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) - the "depreciating protected titles" action was housekeeping - and previous to Zscout370, by Nick (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA). Given this, you would be best to contact Zscout370 by email to discuss the issue moving forwards, especially given it relates to sensitive and confidential information. Sources

Just to let you know, I have reverted your additions to Minor characters of Days of our Lives because the source you provided is a fan site source, deemed unreliable per WP:V. Fan sites with no affiliation with the show are not acceptable as sources on this site. Most commonly accepted sources include soapoperadigest.com, and the nbc.com website. If you can find a reliable source, you can return the reverted content. Thank you. Rm994 (talk) 18:58, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Sources affiliated directly with the subject are not usually acceptable sources. This comes in with WP:NOTE. Third party sources are usually acceptable, things like soapoperadigest.com, which are independent of Days of Our Lives. Citing the episodes is better than nothing, obviously...but sources should be PRINTED. Anyone can say that episode 4 on this day said this and this, but without it in print, it's not acceptable. This is why this site should never be treated as fan site with plot updates...Most of the articles here about soap opera related topics are not even supposed to be listed here per WP:NOTE. The source you listed was a fan site, not a reliable third party source. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but those are the policies. If you want you can also read over WP:CITE, and WP:INUNIVERSE to help clear things up a little. Rm994 (talk) 22:24, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
