Photo captions[edit]

Stop adding your name to the photo captions. If people want to know who uploaded the photo, they can click on it. Tool2Die4 (talk) 22:44, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

He could add his name, footnoted, in between <ref> and </ref>. I've seen that done before, but it's not ideal. — Realist2 22:54, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've checked with an administrator, it's acceptable to add your name to the footnotes. So make sure you add your name between the ref templates, see this as an example of what is acceptable. If you need any help, or do not understand anything, please contact me or an administrator, best. — Realist2 23:08, 26 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, see Wikipedia:Captions: "Unless relevant to the subject, do not credit the image author or copyright holder in the article. It is assumed that this is not necessary to fulfill attribution requirements of the GFDL or Creative Commons licenses as long as the appropriate credit is on the image description page." —C.Fred (talk) 00:30, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
In which case it's best you stop attributing yourself in the caption. If your not happy with this, I can only suggest you stop uploading the images. — Realist2 00:37, 27 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. Thanks for your tips. Sadly, but if my name cant be there I want it to be I don't know if I like the english wikipedia. In Sweden they don't care like you do, if the author want to have the name down under the pictures.

So that really suck, I let Wikipedia use the ABBA picture of them togheter just like that and know my name can not stand under the picture...So wrong. Wish I diden't upload any photos for wikipedia beacuse it's my pictures then I wan't my name on it.

If they start whining about this in Sweden to, alot of photos will never se wikipedia again:(
