Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Het verjaagde water. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Blanchey (talk) 12:12, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

Ok, thanks. I did not realise links to documentaries on subjects were banned. D McParland (talk) 12:16, 22 November 2022 (UTC)
Hey – no worries! I hope you are able to find a reliable source for the content! Blanchey (talk) 12:40, 22 November 2022 (UTC)

DYK for Ramón Iribarren

On 16 June 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Ramón Iribarren, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Ramón Iribarren developed a formula for the stability of breakwater slopes under wave attack in 1938, but Francoist Spain restricted its dissemination? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Ramón Iribarren. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Ramón Iribarren), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Beach nourishment into Basic Coastline (The Netherlands). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 14:43, 21 September 2023 (UTC)

Hi. I didn't copy from the beach nourishment article. The article is a translation of the equivalent Dutch wikipedia article (basiskustlijn), with some minor amendments and small additional details. However I see that a similar translation was already done in a subsection of the the Beach nourishment article. So the content is obviously very similar. I hope that makes sense. Thanks. D McParland (talk) 15:26, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
Attribution is still required, noting that you translated the content from nl:Basiskustlijn. It's done the same way, via the edit summary, and there's also a template that can be placed on the talk page of the new article. — Diannaa (talk) 21:08, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
OK, my apologies. I wasn’t aware of this issue and am relatively new to Wikipedia. I have added a request for speedy deletion to the article. People can still refer to the original Dutch article anyway. D McParland (talk) 21:48, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
