License tagging for Image:Bishopgarmoearlyyears.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Bishopgarmoearlyyears.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 04:04, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Chaldeancoatofarms.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Chaldeancoatofarms.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 19:23, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Cardinaldelly.gif. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:33, 4 January 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 98.204.112.111 (talk) 05:33, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Margeorgegarmoearlyyears.jpg, Image:Jammofulldress.jpg, Image:Jammocoatarms.jpg, Image:Bidawid.jpg, Image:Jibrailkassab.jpg, Image:Jammospeaking.jpg also lack adequate source information. --98.204.112.111 (talk) 05:41, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

March 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article Nicole Kidman, please cite a reliable source for the content of your edit. This is particularly important when adding or changing any facts or figures and helps maintain our policy of verifiability. Take a look at Wikipedia:Citing sources for information about how to cite sources and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you.--Morenooso (talk) 01:03, 9 March 2010 (UTC) why would i add any citations when none of the other awards cite references? It is an award it shouldn't require a citation, it can be verified by checking the award site.[reply]

  • Sites like IMDb, blogs and others that receive self-edits internally are not considered [reliable sources. Wikipedia has had problems before when someone has built a website; maintained and self-editted for years - only to try to put themself on the map so to speak on Wikipedia. For this to be considered a valid edit, it needs to be cited in a reliable third-party neutral publication.--Morenooso (talk) 05:27, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

this is not imdb it is an award site www.goldenschmoes.com.....you need to read what you're changing before you change it.

  • It is very similar and chances are related to the other site. --Morenooso (talk) 06:05, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did to Nicole Kidman. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you.--Morenooso (talk) 06:05, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • I would recommend you look at [reliable sources and how to create proper citations. For your information, I read carefully everything before I revert. And in the case of Nicole Kidman, I have discussed the issue on the article talkpage. You would do well to know what is allowed on Wikipedia.--Morenooso (talk) 06:11, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I know very well what is allowed on wikipedia and FYI it is nothing like imdb; users don't have access to change information on the site, so it is obvious you did not read carefully about what was added. you should visit the site and its parent site joblo.com, and read the article on wikipedia joblo.com so that you understand what you are talking about.

You are missing the point entirely. And, by the red wikilinks above, I sincerely doubt you know what is allowed on Wikipedia. Before I revert, I also visit talkpages. Talkpages like yours are invaluable and usually seal the deal. See, I did read more than just your edit - I reviewed your talkpage. Plus, all the pages I have on Watch to include your talkpage mean I keep up on all of them. --Morenooso (talk) 06:45, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

wonderful......are we done? are you happy with your reference?

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on The Seminary of Mar Abba the Great, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. why do you want to delete this?

I really don't know. Marking the article for speedy deletion as gibberish is absurd, and no reasonable administrator would delete it. You've not done anything wrong: please keep contributing! Nyttend (talk) 22:27, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from The Seminary of Mar Abba the Great, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 21:44, 23 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:FatherBrown2013TitleCard.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:FatherBrown2013TitleCard.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:05, 13 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
