You tagged the article--thanks. I would like to ask you, though, to place a welcome message on the creator's web page next time, so that if they don't know our guidelines for articles (and the technical ins and outs) they have some links to click on. I might nominate the page for AfD soon, and that blow for the creator might be softened if they know what the requirements are. Thanks, Drmies (talk) 15:14, 27 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of National Youth Employment Program[edit]

Hello! Your submission of National Youth Employment Program at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Hi thanks for the reply. I have already changed the hook. Do you think the new one too ought to be changed? I tweaked the original hook to fit the articles.-- CrossTempleJay  → talk 15:14, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't see that. Next time you may want to add a modified hook as an ALT in the T:TDYK discussion, this is more customary (thus preserving the old one if anybody cares to join the discussion). I didn't see the alt so I assumed the old one stayed as it was... it's all fine now. I hope you'll try adding categories and and talk page templates to your new and past articles (I've added a few cats to this one, and note that that the Ghana one was no longer necessary (overcat)). --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| talk 16:12, 31 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:FOVEA.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:FOVEA.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 10:05, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, and a prize[edit]

Hi Crosstemplejay, I just wanted to say thanks for all the work you've done in creating stubs and starter articles for so many Ghana-related topics. It's a constant frustration to me how US- and UK-centered Wikipedia is, and I'm glad to see a user like you doing so much to redress the balance. Have you ever checked out Wikipedia:List of missing Africa topics, by the way? You might see if there's any Ghana topics on there you'd want to knock out while you're on your run. Thanks for all you're doing, and keep up the good work! Khazar (talk) 15:12, 1 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Crosstemplejay is presented this Africa Award for significant contributions in expanding coverage of Ghanaian geography, government, and optometry. Presented by Khazar.

Article could use some specialist help[edit]

Hey, I found this article while I was chugging away at Category:Orphaned articles and thought it could use some specialist work, with someone who knows better where to find Ghana related resources: Eremon. Hope you can help, and keep up the good work! Sadads (talk) 15:42, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"International School Connection" notability tag[edit]

Dear crosstemplejay,

You placed the tag

on the page "International School Connection" I created. I added some external links and the link to three schools that have their wikipedia page that are members of this non-profit organization. Do you think this would be enough to convince you to remove the tag?

Guild of Copy Editors May 2011 backlog elimination drive report

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors May 2011 Backlog elimination drive. Thank you for participating!

Participation
GOCE May 2011 backlog elimination drive progress graphs

There were 63 signups for the drive; of these, 45 participated. Although we did not award a bonus for articles from the Requests page this drive, we are not experiencing lengthy delays in getting the articles processed. Many thanks to editors who have been helping out at the Requests page and by copy editing articles from the backlog.

Progress report

During the month of May we reduced the backlog by approximately 10%, and made remarkable progress on eliminating articles tagged from 2009. There are now only 15 articles left, down from the 415 that were present when the drive started. Since our backlog drives began in May 2010 with 8,323 articles, we have cleared more than 54% of the backlog. A complete list of results and barnstars awarded can be found here. Barnstars will be distributed over the next week. If you enjoyed participating in our event, you may also like to join the Wikification drives, which are held on alternate months to our drives. Their June drive has started.

Coodinator election

The six-month term for our first tranche of Guild coordinators will be expiring at the end of June. We will be accepting nominations for the second tranche of coordinators, who will also serve a six-month term. Nominations will open starting on June 5. For complete information, please have a look at the election page.

Please feel free to contact any coordinator if you have any questions or need assistance. Your project coordinators are S Masters (talk), Diannaa (Talk), Tea with toast (Talk), Chaosdruid (talk), and Torchiest (talk).

Hello Crosstemplejay,

I noticed you marked an article as a stub using the {{stub}} template. Did you know that there are thousands of stub types that you can use to clarify what type of stub the article is? Properly categorizing stubs is important to the Wikipedia community because it helps various WikiProjects to identify articles that need expansion.

If you have questions about stub sorting, don't hesitate to ask! There is a wealth of stub information on the stub sorting WikiProject, and hundreds of stub sorters. Thanks!

Hello, I have a question. I created an article called Universidad del Noreste in english and spanish, but I named them both the same so the only thing that changes is the link with "en" and "es". The english article has been checked and everything seems cool with it, but the spanish one hasn't been checked, I want to know if you can check it and tell me if everything is alright with it, please. The name of it is UNIVERSIDAD DEL NORESTE in spanish. I'd appreciate it so much. THANKS and I'm looking forward to hear from you soon :D

Hi, in case you thought I was being a difficult old man, I really do appreciate your starting many articles on Africa-related topics. It is a gaping hole in en.WP's coverage. Please keep doing so. Although I don't think every article on a topic is a natural DYK for a hook, many are. You should cultivate that guy whose name I can't pronounce; you make a very good complementary team. Great work[edit]

Just wanted to say Great work on all those Ghana-related pages you have created! Omegastar (talk) 17:00, 20 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please be more careful[edit]

I have deleted some of your articles where the contents were about a different town than the article title suggested. These articles seemed to be copy-pasted from other articles you had created, but without the necessary corrections. The ones I deleted were Maxima, Kumasi, Kentinkrono and Fumesua. These all came out of Category:Places in Kumasi, so that's 3 out of 18 articles. I hope that this was just a bad batch, and not something that happens usually. But considering that when looking at more recent creations, the exact same thing happened at Abokobi (from last week), it looks to be an ongoing problem.

Please also consider taking greater care with the categories you add to articles, as was requested before by others. An article like Sokoban, Kumasi should not be in Category:Ghana, but in Category:Places in Kumasi.

Looking at other creations, I notice that the most recent one, MT Bonsu, starts with "The MT Bonsu is a storage 16,000 tonne oil storage vessels that operates[...]" Please try to make less errors in your text, changing it to "The MT Bonsu is a 16,000 tonne oil storage vessel that operates[...]" isn't that hard. Fram (talk) 07:16, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Follow-up: it has been brought to my attention that the coördinates of some of those articles were also clearly incorrect. I have checked (and correctedà this for Kaase, Kumasi, but the same problem probably is in many of your location articles. Please be more careful when adding this kind of information, and if you are not sure of the coordinates, just don't include them. It's better to have no information than to have wrong information. Fram (talk) 06:42, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

E.g. the location of Beach road, Takoradi is somewhere in the sea? Fram (talk) 06:54, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

+1 to all the comments above. Small details like Categories and Geodata don't get looked at very often by very many people, so the chance of catching mistakes in these and other fact based formatting and content, needs to be very precise, else you disseminate bad information that is not likely to get fixed soon, Sadads (talk) 08:29, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks both of you. I admit that they are mistakes. I will work on them, of course we are human and do sometimes err. Thanks once again Fram and Sadads.  CrossTempleJay  → talk 10:09, 23 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article June 4th Revolution, 2011 Anniversary has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTNEWS. Such commemorations happen each year, and get routine news coverage, and that's it. The Revolution is notable, a special commemoration (e.g. the 50th) may be noteworthy, but the common ones aren't.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 07:17, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE drive invitation[edit]

Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors

The latest GOCE backlog elimination drive is under way! It began on 1 July and so far 18 people have signed up to help us reduce the number of articles in need of copyediting.

This drive will give a 50% bonus for articles edited from the GOCE requests page. Although we have cleared the backlog of 2009 articles there are still 3,935 articles needing copyediting and any help, no matter how small, would be appreciated.

We are appealing to all GOCE members, and any other editors who wish to participate, to come and help us reduce the number of articles needing copyediting, as well as the backlog of requests. If you have not signed up yet, why not take a look at the current signatories and help us by adding your name and copyediting a few articles. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories: "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words".

Important Question About Previously Deleted Topic (Thank You in Advance)[edit]

HI Crosstemplejay!

A few months ago, I posted an entry for a living person (Andrew Stroth) who is an attorney and media agent for many famous sports figures. You raised a concern and the post was deleted on this basis. The concern was:

"I have gone through the work. I can see you have corrected the initial concerns I raised. There is still an important aspect the article has yet not addressed. You must state in the article the particular thing that makes this man import ie. One notable thing he has done. After sorting that out, the tags may be removed."

Before recreating the page, I wanted to check with you to see if some new information I have would be considered "important" or "notable." Recently, Mr. Stroth negotiated a significant deal for Michael Vick and Nike which was announced this past Friday.

Here are some links: http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2011/07/nike-re-signs -eagles-qb-michael-vick-to-endorsement-deal/1 http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-07-01/vick-signs-endorsement-agreement-wi th-nike-four-years-after-being-dropped.html http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=6730833&campaign=rss&source=ESPN Headlines http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/07/01/us-michaelvick-idUSTRE7606F9201107 01

Do you feel that this is notable enough for Mr. Stroth to have a page?

Thanks -- I look forward to hearing from you ~
