List of of film noir titles[edit]

Greetings. Great job with the sources on the film noir list ... maybe we can take down that sources TAG soon .. I hate tags. My best - Lou Luigibob (talk) 15:09, 14 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

By the way if you would like a 494 page PDF copy of Encyclopedia of Film Noir by Geoff Mayer & Brian McDonnell - e-mail me (see left of screen in Toolbox and click on e-mail user)) ... and I'll shoot you a copy ( a solid reference for your work) ... hope you are having a great day! ♦ Luigibob ♦ "Talk to Luigi!" 18:15, 15 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Tag in list of film noir[edit]

Yep, I'd say you could remove tag. Well done Luigibob (talk) 21:26, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I have a sense that a lot of the more recent additions have references that do not actually substantiate. In fact, I only trust the additions/substantiations that you and Luigibob made. I personally wish we could just roll back to the version you and he created. I'd do this myself but I'm not an expert in this genre. Softlavender (talk) 04:25, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry. I frequently do check and clean up the list. Until now there were no new additions where I couldn't easily clarify if the refernces were legit or bogus.Croscher (talk) 14:30, 6 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Softlavender you are a very thoughtful Wikipedian; thank you for your note. Mr. Croscher is quite a machine and has done incredible work with the Film Noir list. I am not an active Wikipedian these days, yet I hope to get back in action soon. I'll have to review what film noir articles still need to be added (if any) ... and possibly build on them. Then there is also the Argentine Films I am fond of ... I need to check on them ... once again, thank your for being thoughtful Softlavender -- and HIGH FIVE Croscher -- ♦ Luigibob ♦ "Talk to Luigi!" 09:11, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • OK, thanks very much to both of you; I'm glad the article is being watched and not falling into disarray. When articles get so long I start to worry that they are inaccurate. While we're on the subject, there's another issue I have with long list articles: Although an excellent resource, it can be sort of overwhelming or mind-numbing to the reader. I wish there were a place to list the MAJOR film noir titles of each section/era (or year). Even though that would be a subjective list, surely there are authors who agree on major versus minor entries in the field. I don't know where such a list would belong; I guess in the article on Film Noir itself, which I don't have on my watch-list. Anyway, I'm just thinking aloud. Cheers, Softlavender (talk) 09:22, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Softlavender thank you for you input. I truly believe the list Wikipedian Croscher, from the work of many others, has massaged the section and it is truly UP TO DATE. We cannot thank him enough. As for your comment about the "Film Noir itself" what a nightmare that article is -- the infighting is endless, as such I never got involved (not the end product, but the process) .... just sayin' .. The Film Noir List, however does have a link on that Wiki Page -- Be well Softlavender - ♦ Luigibob ♦ "Talk to Luigi!" 09:58, 7 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
