Thank you

Thank you for cleaning up the Dynasty warriors 3 article, when I had first seen it, I was shocked at the quality. the whole dynasty warriors series of articles have vastly improved recently though, but still need work. I have been very busy lately, and not been able to contribute much but I have a break comin up and should be able to get back pretty soon. But thank you anyway for all your hard work and I look forward to working with you. Da Big Bozz 00:29, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Yeah, I've got a break coming up to soon so hopefully we can get the series to a much better quality. I look forward to working with you too. Crimsonfox 00:46, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Re: Game Informer

Well, I have them at home, so if you can wait until Friday, I can get what you need. Thunderbrand 21:30, 20 March 2007 (UTC)

Here is what is written:

"Serving as a kind of formal apology for the debacle that was Devil May Cry 2, Dante's third outing returns the hero to his roots in more ways than one. Most importantly, the gameplay is focused on what made the series fun to begin with. Players switch between several customizable styles as they slice and blast their way through the unrelentingly difficult (and undeniably stylish) missions. Complete with gigantic boss battles and over-the-top cinematics, Devil May Cry 3 has what it takes to rekindle your love of eviscerating demons with a huge sword."

This is on page 84 of the January 2006 issue (#153). Thunderbrand 20:31, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

  • Many thanks. Crimsonfox 21:29, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Dynasty Warriors 4

I was going to review the article when it was at GAC, but I was interrupted halfway through doing so. When I came back, it had already been passed, so I decided to just make the changes myself (I'm really picky on grammar and formatting). Anyway, good work. I liked cleaning up the article based on the many hours I spent playing the game. --Nehrams2020 20:30, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

R&C3

Dude have you quit? Just because your first FAC failed doesn't mean you should give up. It took me two FACs and lots of work to get an article up to FA. If you're still up for it, I'll help you, but now is not the time to give up. C'mon you're so close.--Clyde (talk) 20:27, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

That's good to know. I was just worried because I've seen so many people dissatisfied with the brutal FAC process that they leave. Well if you need help future, let me know.--Clyde (talk) 23:15, 17 May 2007 (UTC)

Sega Mega Drive

What a mess over there, and I'm not referring to the prose ;) I'm glad to see someone working on the article, it needs it. Regarding the technical section rewrite, you might want to try asking User:Upthorn for help (based on this post). You could also look here and here for technical sources, and the forums there might have some knowledgeable people too. You should also check your images for fair-use rationales before some deletionist gets to them, current guidelines want the title of the rationale to be along the lines of "Rationale for fair use in Sega Mega Drive"; {{vgrationale}} can make it fairly easy. I'll watch for the {{peerreview}}, if I don't decide to help beforehand. Anomie 00:04, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Welcome back....

Sure I'd be willing to help. I haven't had much time for Wikipedia lately, but fire away. As to the reference, It is basically this:

"There are a total of seven modes in 1080° including training and options.

In match race mode, the player competes in a series of races against AI-controlled snowboarders. The game times the player throughout the level, and players receive a life meter which fills if the snowboarder falls down or is knocked over. If the damage meter fills completely or if the player loses to a competitor, the player must retire and restart the race.[citation needed]"

If you have the manual information, that would suffice with referencing it. If you don't have it or can't find it, thanks anyway.--Clyde (talk) 19:44, 14 October 2007 (UTC)

Um I would recommend a couple things:
  • Shorten the multiplayer section in the lead and put it mainly in it's own section.
  • Make sure all references are after commas or full stops.
  • "After racing to Veldin and being mistaken for the new sergeant for the Galactic Rangers,[15] they are contacted by the President on the whereabouts of the only man who has ever defeated Nefarious" Who's they?  Done Crimsonfox 11:55, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
  • "Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal was the main focus of the Insomniac Team during its development." Cite.  Done Crimsonfox 11:55, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
  • "Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal was featured at the E3 games festival in 2004 and provided a playable demo to participants. Only "siege mode" and a single player demo were available but they were enough to get 1UP.com's award for best action game at E3." Cite.  Done Crimsonfox 11:55, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
  • "from a number of the well known game critics." Word choice.  Done Crimsonfox 11:55, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
I would also recommend doing another peer review before going to FAC. Oh and you know this? It's actually really good and helped a lot. It's worth the time.--Clyde (talk) 01:45, 17 October 2007 (UTC)
So did you say you might be able to acquire the 1080 manual....?--Clyde (talk) 00:55, 24 October 2007 (UTC)
It's cool; thanks anyway.--Clyde (talk) 01:24, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

VG Review

I have copied and altered the template, to hold additional information. My sandbox shows the results. Yeah, it maybe unnecessary, but I not believe comments / notes really need their own section. What do you think? « ₣ullMetal ₣alcon » 03:24, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

For a review table I don't think a comments section is neccesary. Most of the half made tables out there don't have them, only a few. Makes it look too ugly, and most of the time there will be no comment anyway. Crimsonfox 03:32, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Non-free image use

Hi FraserMajor. The licensing of each image you see on Wikipedia is determined by it copyright status and not every image file you see on Wikipedia is licensed the same. Some files are licensed as public domain or licensed under a free licensed suitable for Wikipedia and these are often collectively referred to as "free images". Other files are licensed as non-free content because of their copyright status and these file are commonly referred to as "non-free images". Non-free image use is highly restricted and each use of such an an image must satisfy Wikipedia's non-free image use policy. One of these restrctions is WP:NFCC#9, which says that non-free content can only be used in the article namespace. Non-free content should not be used on usepages or their subpages as explained in WP:UP#Non-free images which is why I have removed File:Crash Bandicoot1.png from User:Crimsonfox/sandbox. Perhaps you did not notice the edit sum I left the first time I removed the images; therefore, I'm posting this here to provide more explanation. Please do not re-add the image again becaue doing so is clearly in violation of relevant Wikipedia policy. If you have any questions about this, you can ask for help at WP:MCQ or WT:NFCC. -- Marchjuly (talk) 00:22, 17 April 2017 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Covers

Hi, I just want to say thank you for your work on providing covers for video game articles! If you don't mind, would you be able to check to see what you can find for any of these? 208.47.202.254 (talk) 15:08, 5 March 2019 (UTC)

Wow, they're pretty tough! I think I've found Dangerous Dave but I'll need to spend some time on the others! Bomber looks to already have one btw. CrimsonFox talk 20:26, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
I think that the one for Bomber is a manual, so not sure if there is an actual box cover available. Yep, these are some challenge ones! 208.47.202.254 (talk) 23:10, 5 March 2019 (UTC)
Did both Spectre's seeing as I found it on my search for the Apple II one, M4 and Dangerous Dave done. I'm still working on the others and following up some leads, if not, I've found some alternatives. CrimsonFox talk 09:16, 7 March 2019 (UTC)
Wow that's great, thanks!  :) 208.47.202.254 (talk) 15:07, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Wow, you did some awesome work there! More than I expected!  :) I have some that I did not add to the request page, in case you want to take a look for these? 208.47.202.254 (talk) 18:22, 7 March 2019 (UTC)

Wow, you really knocked it out of the park! :) I'm going to get my remaining requests together and list them on that talk page. 208.47.202.254 (talk) 14:12, 11 March 2019 (UTC)

User:Crimsonfox, thanks again for your help on image requests - I had added the last one from that group of 1970s/1980s articles to the request page, and I do not have any more of those to request. :) 208.47.202.254 (talk) 22:42, 6 June 2019 (UTC)

Are you manually adding "source=" to infoboxes or is Covery doing it? This is not a valid parameter for the infobox and I had to remove it from several articles. Also, are you removing the line break between the infobox and lede, or is Covery? -- ferret (talk) 17:06, 12 July 2022 (UTC)

Ooops, that's my fault, was making some changes to the script and didn't notice. I'll fix that tomorrow, is there any others that need fixing? CrimsonFox talk 20:02, 12 July 2022 (UTC)

I only noticed those two issues when I reviewed the articles that came up. -- ferret (talk) 20:03, 12 July 2022 (UTC)
Fixed it so it shouldn't happen again but I'll spot check them to ensure it stays that way. Also, the removal of the line break is coming from the way Covery updates the infobox. I haven't touched that part of the script yet (apart fromn the above mistake) but I'll try and get it to keep it. CrimsonFox talk 09:15, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
