Speedy deletion nomination of User:Cranberry Products/TWA/Earth[edit]

- The page that you flagged was just part of WP:TWA. It's obviously not vandalism or an attack page, and since it was generated from an official Wikipedia tool for assisting new users, I doubt it violates the third bullet point either. Rochester and Strood by-election, 2014[edit]
Hello Cranberry Products
It is good to see your recent interest in this article. Insofar as I have made useful amendments to this article, for some reason I have met with resistance for having provided a succinct description of the constituency's layout (in four or five additional words.. which keep getting deleted). Is there an otherwise unknown agenda which should prevent providing a topographical description of Rochester and Strood? Whilst this is hardly worthy of a big battle, why shouldn't the wider world be appraised of this electoral area's constituent parts?

- Hello Mabelina,
- I highly doubt there's such an agenda here (if there is, I'm certainly not aware of it). Looking back at your edits to the article, it seems your particular style of writing is that which makes reading a Wikipedia page a little like reading a novel, whereas others prefer brevity in descriptions. While I personally think your edits were innocuous enough, those firmly on the side of conciseness will argue that the location of Cooling, Halling and Hoo is information that, while obviously related to the constituency, does not explicitly deal with the actual by-election and should be left off the page. Arguments can be made either way, and this seems like more of a personal preference issue than anything else; as you said, it's probably best not to get too worked up over it.

Vandalism reverts[edit]
Bonjour! Thanks for reverting the vandalism edits of User:Cab driver Champion... I've left warnings on his talk page. I'd recommend you do that as well after reverting vandalism. Janusz Korwin-Mikke[edit]
Hi, I undid that IP editor because his/her edits were much below the Wikipedia standard. Please see ALL the changes that the IP tried to introduce, including that they added "death place" to the infobox: [1]. Regards, kashmiri TALK 16:25, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- I'm very aware of the changes that they were trying to introduce, as the page for Janusz Korwin-Mikke is on my watchlist. Even so, it would have been better to simply remove the death date and death place and clean up the added reference rather than just delete everything. Remember to follow WP:DONTBITE and WP:IPHUMAN, and note that this page in particular is obviously going to be edited by people who are not native English speakers and some edits may require cleanup. If you see a new edit that is clearly true, but is much below the Wikipedia standard, you can help by bringing it up to standard yourself as opposed to reverting it, which accomplishes nothing (and hurts the encyclopedia by removing unambiguously true content). And if you can't make it better yourself (e.g. because something requires translation and you can't speak Polish), you can always find someone on Wikipedia who can. "Black rectangle"[edit]
Hello Cranberry Products,
first of all thank you very much for providing these nice SVG images about the regional election in Saxony-Anhalt! I have noticed that you had some problems with an unintended black rectangle in the image preview. This is a known issue in Inkscape, the so-called "flowed text bug" (see here: Black rectangle (Flowed Text bug). I have removed the rectangles with a text editor.
