Hello, please slow down and make sure your image captions make sense. The majority of captions you have recently added have titles like "Artificial intelligence (33661764490)". The full file name does not need to be the caption. A more appropriate caption would be simply "Artificial intelligence", or something more descriptive. If you have any questions, please let me know. Hello, Cnyirahabihirwe123. Thank you for helping to build Wikipedia-- the world's largest free content encyclopedia. Sangwa Job Training Center has been deleted as meeting WP:CSD#G11, as it was seen as unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. This article needs to be rewritten from scratch from reliable, third party sources unconnected to the subject.

I have removed some copyright material copied from elsewhere online from your sandbox. Please have a look at what I removed. Here's how to find out whether or not a webpage is copyright: Scroll to the bottom and look for a copyright notice. For example, https://sdgs.un.org/goals has a link at the bottom that says "Copyright". Clicking on that link brings up this webpage, which says that the material cannot be copied without permission. "Open access" is not the same thing as "compatibly licensed" or "public domain". Under current copyright law, literary works are subject to copyright whether they are tagged as such or not. No registration is required, and no copyright notice is required. So please always assume that all material you find online is copyright unless it is clearly marked as public domain or with a compatible license. I can't find any licensing info for https://sdg-tracker.org/about, so we have to assume it is copyright, and therefore not available to use unaltered. I should have stated "compatible licence" not open access licence, sorry. I know that the maps from the SDG Tracker website are under a compatible licence and for that reason they have all been uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. Also, the SDG Tracker Website belongs to Our World in Data and it states there: "Visualizations and text are licensed under CC BY that you may freely use for any purpose". (https://ourworldindata.org/about) For the second website that I mentioned this is also under a compatible licence, see here: https://www.globalgoals.org/asset-licence . So for a newbie like Cnyirahabihirwe123 working from such a website will be safer than working from a UN website and probably the language is easier to understand, too. So just double checking: if she was to copy complete sentences from those two websites, and provide attribution, she would not need to paraphrase and would be completely on the safe side with regards to copyright, right? Replying to your email. Short quotations are permitted, but only if there's no alternative. In this case the freely licensed material is prose that we write ourselves. Writing our own material can be difficult, but it's almost never impossible. In fact that's how Wikipedia articles are created - by writing our own prose. I know it is not easy. With #WPWP #WPWPRW, you have been adding photographs of/from French villages to our articles: I appreciate that, but in all the examples I looked at you simply used the file name for the caption, and that cannot be. Captions need to be relevant, and of course they need to be in English. I understand what's happening here; this is a contest, and you want to win, and adding images is good, but adding such captions is not. As you should know by now, you can't just copy stuff. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

This is our twenty-seventh newsletter, a sort of year-in-review for 2023.

Dear Wikimedians for Sustainable Development,

As we bid farewell to 2023, we reflect on a year that has been an uneven year for our user group. While the journey has been marked by some truly inspiring events, most of our efforts have been largely uncoordinated and the user group hasn't been the support it could have been. Yet, there's a glimmer of hope and a world of potential for 2024.

Highlights of 2023:

Newsletters Galore: We kicked off the year with zeal, sharing updates and inspiration through four newsletters. The number of things happening in the movement is astounding, but we need to rethink the format of the newsletter going into the next year.

Growing Strong: The Wikimedians for Sustainable Development family welcomed 33 new members in 2023. Your passion and dedication continue to inspire us, and we look forward to nurturing this community spirit in the year ahead.

Wikimania Talks: Our voices echoed far and wide at Wikimania, where several members of our community took the virtual stage to share insights and ideas about everything from Wikipedians-in-Residence's to open data. Your contributions showcased our commitment to sustainable development on a global scale.

Content Creation Magic: Throughout the year, our extended community demonstrated incredible dedication to expanding the knowledge base on Wikipedia. Countless hours were spent creating and curating content that aligns with our mission, contributing to a more sustainable digital ecosystem.

Campaigning hard: We saw a large variety of campaigns, from writing challenges to editathons. The willingness to experiment with new formats and partners, as well as learning from past efforts, shows great promise for the future.

Acknowledging Challenges:

While we celebrate these achievements, we acknowledge that 2023 presented its fair share of challenges. A lack of global coordination reminded us that the road to sustainable development is not always linear. However, it is precisely these challenges that fuel our determination to work together more cohesively in the coming year and proof that the user group is needed.

Hopeful Anticipation for 2024:

As we turn the page to 2024, let's carry forward the lessons learned and the successes celebrated. We are optimistic that, with renewed energy and a collective commitment, we will overcome obstacles and create an even more impactful and connected Wikimedians for Sustainable Development community.

Here's to a year of collaboration, growth, and making a lasting impact on the world through our shared passion for sustainability. Together, we can turn challenges into opportunities and pave the way for a brighter future.
