Heraldry[edit]

Unfortunately, you use terminology which is utterly different from the standard terminology of English blazoning. "Weapon" should be "Shield", "Tarpaulins" should be "Mantling", "Shield holders" should be "Supporters", just to start with etc. etc. AnonMoos (talk) 00:26, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for making an attempt, but in its current form it still may not be adequate to prevent the file from eventually being deleted from Commons. I don't really understand what "coat of arms that I own" means, and it certainly doesn't have any standard accepted meaning on Wikimedia Commons. What we're more interested in knowing is: when was it published, who was the artist, etc. If it's a recent commissioned "work for hire", then that could avoid copyright problems, but it looks kind of old to me. If it's old enough, then that could also avoid copyright problems -- but without relevant information, it's impossible to judge such matters. AnonMoos (talk) 11:25, 8 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That's why i asked for a suggestion to discribe. It's my family crest and this have been in my family for a long time, so whom ever created it or made I really don't know. Dude, 1) What is the nature of the physical object where the picture which you scanned in is located? 2) Is there any further information on that physical object? Turn it over and look at both sides. If it's in a frame, take it out of the frame. 3) Is there any associated useful, information connected with that physical object (though not physically written on it)? This is all the info i can provide about my picture.
