Bot Confuson

I'd like to put the status on my userpage, but I cannot get it to work. What am I doing wrong? Alex Holowczak 19:03, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Chris G Bot 3

My this bot works incredibly slowly. It is still saying that I'm offline. S♦s♦e♦b♦a♦l♦l♦o♦s (Talk to Me) 23:47, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Status Bot not updating status

I was wondering why status bot has listed me as "somewhere" for about the past 3 weeks and was wondering if I set something up wrong. --Nn123645 02:58, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

I fixed the problem--Java7837 (talk) 21:06, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Georgia teens

Chris, thank you for the block of the Georgia teen whatever and for reverting his last attack on my userpage. Much appreciated. He gives teens in general a bad name! (probably was some 40-y/o anyway...) You, on the other hand, are a credit to teens and to WikiAdmins. Cheers, VigilancePrime 09:55, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Bot 2 character encoding bug

Bot 2 changes Doppelgänger to Doppelgänger. This probably indicates the wrong character encoding; Wikipedia uses UTF-8. NeonMerlin 04:24, 12 December 2007 (UTC)

Bot #1 seems a bit stopped

Hi mate, this bot seems to be a bit stopped, when you get it going anychance of updating every few hours instead of daily? -- maelgwn - talk 08:44, 18 December 2007 (UTC)

On a similar note, I'm not sure if you refer to User:Chris G Bot as Bot #1 or not, but this bot has stopped updating the Australian noticeboard deletion debates. More regular updates to keep the content fresh would be a good thing. -- Longhair\talk 13:45, 18 December 2007 (UTC)
Sorry TS when down and I forgot to reset my scripts. Both bots should be back up and running. --Chris 00:36, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Looks good again. Thanks. Are you able to the increase the bots' frequency of updates? -- Longhair\talk 00:40, 19 December 2007 (UTC)
Should be able too, you want it to run on the hour? --Chris 00:46, 19 December 2007 (UTC)

StatusBot not working for me?

It seems to skip me all the time; I sometimes use a script to change my status to online (as my userpage is coded upon the page). Will (talk) 00:41, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

Bot Just not working, please use the script; it will reduce the load on the bot. --Chris 01:05, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks. Will (talk) 01:54, 21 December 2007 (UTC)

I have added your bot thing to my user page. I hope it works!! Gaia Octavia Agrippa (talk) 18:00, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

Similar Usernames

What is Wikipedia's policy on similar user names. I have been editing as a registered user since 2004, and I have recently discovered that another user has editing under the username of User:Tommy Boy since 2006. --TommyBoy (talk) 22:31, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

See here, however the users last edit was in November so I don't see a big problem. --Chris 09:31, 25 December 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for answering my question, I was not entirely sure whether two users having similar usernames is a violation of Wikipedia policy, which according to the information you gave me, it is not. --TommyBoy (talk) 18:51, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

My Name not adding to the list

Ok 2 questions.. 1. Do you have to be on the list of users who have Status bot? If so I have 2 of your templates one on my talk page User talk:WxHalo and the other 2 on my main page. One of the two is my own creation and then there is one at the bottom which is the generic one. Now the Main Page doesn't show up on the list.

Question 2: How can I fix this?

Thanks in advance -WxHalo(T/C) 05:40, 26 December 2007 (UTC)

The reason why the bot is not working for you is that I've restricted it's operation to the first 500 users in Category:Wikipedians who use StatusBot so as to reduce the load on the bot try this script you will be much better off. Also on a side not using templates in your sig is against policy. --Chris 07:12, 26 December 2007 (UTC)
