Orphaned fair use image (Image:Logochix.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Logochix.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image copyright problem with Image:DJChix.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:DJChix.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI 15:16, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Gojirauklogo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Gojirauklogo.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 18:31, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Confirm image in public domain[edit]

Hi! Can you confirm that Image:Gojirauklogo.gif is really public domain? I was just going through images, and sometimes people write that even if it's not true. --Apoc2400 (talk) 20:36, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see you changed it into fair use. I'll fix the fair use rationale. --Apoc2400 (talk) 20:38, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

User page deletion[edit]

Hi there, I saw the message you left on ChrisGriswold's talk page. ChrisGriswold isn't active right now, but can I ask which user page you were referring to? Your user page, User:Chix, does not appear to have been deleted at all, see the page's log. Can you clarify what you meant? Thanks. Acalamari 16:12, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Jellybass, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.ukpopmusic.org/jellybass. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 15:08, 7 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. If an article is deleted on Wikipedia, you cannot restore it by simply pasting it back, unless you are the only contributor to the original. Wikipedia's contributors do not release their contributions into public domain, but license it for reuse. The license requires that they be given credit. Credit is supplied through the article's history. If you use the text without supplying credit to all significant contributors, I'm afraid that you are violating copyright. You are not the only contributor to that article, and I'm afraid that your pasting the text here is a copyright violation—though one that can be easily remedied under the circumstances.
In this case, the original article was deleted following an expired "PROD", or Wikipedia:Proposed deletion. This is only used for non-controversial deletions, and articles that are deleted by this process are typically restored if any contributor indicates that they object to the deletion, even after the PROD has processed. I am remedying the copyright problem by restoring the attribution history. However, since the article was proposed deletion, I am listing it for community discussion at WP:AfD. If you would like to discuss whether the article merits inclusion, that would be the place to do it. The discussion is located at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jellybass.
If you have any questions about this, please let me know at my talk page. Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:12, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • The AFD on this group was closed four days ago, and it still doesn't appear from the copy you posted that the group is notable per WP:MUSIC. If you want to debate this further, go to Wikipedia:Deletion review. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:03, 28 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
