Speedy deletion of Cloning gun[edit]

A tag has been placed on Cloning gun, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. --Alinnisawest,Dalek Empress (extermination requests here) 17:58, 28 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. FYI Conflict of interest[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. — Athaenara 21:15, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cloning gun[edit]

Hello,

I submitted an article for the "cloning gun" which was speedily deleted on the grounds that it was "blatant advertising" (I disagree). I'd like to get a copy of the deleted article if possible, as I cannot retrieve it from the deleted article log.

Also, is there a way to write an article on a consumer product that will not be characterized as an advertisement? any feedback you could give me would be very helpful. It is my opinion and that of many people I know that the device in question is notable and should have a wikipedia entry. I would like to do what is possible to create an entry for it that meets all of Wikipedia's standards for acceptable entries.

Thanks much, Cellstructure —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cellstructure (talkcontribs) 20:44, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alinnisawest's 17:58, 28 August 2008 (UTC) message on User talk:Cellstructure#Speedy deletion of Cloning gun includes a link for that (see "one of these admins" in that post).
I posted the {{Uw-coi}} template to your talk page as well, because it contains links which will answer your second question. — Athaenara 21:20, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello,
I received your reply concerning my deleted post about the cloning gun. Are there any specific objections to parts of the entry that I could address? Any suggestions for a re-write would be greatly appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cellstructure (talkcontribs) 16:52, 2 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If a topic is notable,[1] reliable sources[2] which verify it[3] can be found and cited.[4]
