Please do not introduce incorrect information into articles, as you did to Canada Day. Your edits could be interpreted as vandalism and have been reverted. If you believe the information you added was correct, please cite references or sources or discuss the changes on the article's talk page before making them again. - @Paul Erik: You're being conned. Canada Day is always observed on July 1. When workers are granted the day off is not germane to the discussion.

I looked into it and found When July 1 is a Sunday, July 2 is a legal holiday and shall be kept and observed as such throughout Canada under the name of "Canada Day". It doesn't look as if it refers only to when workers are granted a day off but also that the name "Canada Day" then applies to July 2 in that particular year. - Yes you were being conned and you still are. Canada Day is always on July 1. It is only granted as a statutory holiday on the following work day when it falls on a weekend. That's labour law. Please help me with... I am attempting to correct the information on Canada Day, and it keeps being undone. I know that Canada Day is on July 2nd in 2018, as it clearly states in the "Commemorating" section of this article, and as stated in the Federal Holidays Act. It is hard enough to get politicians to listen to me, so I find this very frustrating. How should I proceed? Thanks CanadaDayShouldBeOnJuly1st (talk) 04:02, 18 January 2018 (UTC)

- It looks like the person who reverted you undid his own edit after you explained yourself. Sometimes this sort of thing happens – people act rashly, reverting a correct edit. Usually, if you explain yourself, just as you did, the situation will resolve itself quickly. It's an occupational hazard, unfortunately. I'm sure it's happened to most of us, and probably most of us have done it, too. Sometimes using an edit summary can help prevent these kinds of misunderstandings. Your username and actions[edit]
Hello there, and welcome to Wikipedia. I saw your question at the Teahouse and wondered if you might wish to consider requesting a username change? We have guidelines on what names are acceptable and which ones aren't. To be honest, I don't think yours is breaking any of our rules as, whilst clearly promoting one point of view in a campaign-like way, it is probably not promotional in the same way that we would require a company to change its name (under this rule: WP:ORGNAME). That said, I politely wanted to suggest you did change it something less campaign-like as you'll probably find other editors will take you more seriously if you were to. As editors we should all strive to appear neutral, making our edits based on published sources, not opinions, so maybe your name isn't the best one to use to give that impression. It's early days in your editing on Wikipedia, and I hope it goes well for you. If you do end up only only editing this one topic, you might find your account tagged as a single-purpose account - not in itself wrong, but I hope you might take a moment to read it. To change username, here's some useful guidance: Wikipedia:Changing username/Simple . You'll also see that a fellow host at the Teahouse has asked if you'd follow our guidance on declaring your conflict of interest, and also acting in a way that ensures no bias in editing. (I should add that I both campaign in real life and edit neutrally here - ensuring the one life doesn't spill over into the other can be quite a challenge. Just remember we're an encyclopaedia reflecting existing knowledge andpublished sources, not pushing individual viewpoints.
The one thing I must earnestly advise you against is reverting and re-reverting changes that have been made. This tit-for-tat editing is seriously frowned on, though you might not have appreciated this fact, or known that it can get you and/or the other editor blocked from editing. Do please take a moment to read this very relevant policy: Wikipedia:Edit warring. And, if I may, one final request: please always leave what we call an "edit summary" each time you save and publish a series of edits. It should succinctly summarise what those edits achieved. You'll see I've just changed your last edit, with an edit summary note saying I've removed some incorrectly placed referenced tags, and also asking editors to stop edit-warring (the back-forth switching of favoured edits) and to discuss it on the article's talk page.
