Removing tags[edit]

Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion pages. The notices and comments are needed to establish community consensus about the status of an article, and removing them is considered vandalism. If you oppose the deletion of an article, you may comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NMChico24 (talkcontribs)

License tagging for Image:Ronwatermanportrait.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ronwatermanportrait.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 12:06, 13 July 2006 (UTC)

Regarding deletion of Image:Ronwatermanportrait.jpg[edit]

As the notice in the previous section said: A one-line sentence saying "I have permission to use the photograph from Ron Waterman." is manifestly inadequate for keeping the photo on Wikipedia. If you created the image, you must release your work under a free license and insert the appropriate tag from the previous linked-to section into the image description page. Failure to do so will mean that your image gets deleted again.

As "free and clear" does not readily translate to the name of any of the aforementioned licenses, I'm afraid I cannot tag the image for you. Kimchi.sg 21:28, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You have again done it wrongly. The "With permission" item you selected on the license list means that the image is not for commercial usage, and thus not acceptable for Wikipedia's use. If this is what you really meant for the image to be licensed under, then repeated uploading of this image will cause you to lose your upload priviledges.

On the other hand, if you wish to license the image under a free license (as creators of images have to), select one of the choices that have "self-made" or "own work" in their names. Be aware that all of these licenses will allow both commercial and non-commercial distribution, modification, and distribution of modification of the image. Kimchi.sg 21:41, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The image is still marked for speedy deletion because you have not changed the license on the image description page. If you do not change the {{db-noncom}} tag to a license tag acceptable for Wikipedia, the image will be deleted imminently. Kimchi.sg 21:55, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Burger King.[edit]

Please stop adding this information, the article is about the Burger King from inception to the last usage; It is not about the 1970s-1980 version exclusively, which your rewrite has basically made it into. The changes you have made are also based upon unreliable sources - Retro Planet is a personal blog and does not qualify per WP:Blogs, and as for IMDB it is an open wiki style source that is deemed unreliable. The Dick Garanga addition has been added previously and deleted for that very reason. All of these additions are original research, and are not acceptable. Please stop changing the article and start discussing it on the talk page per WP:BRD.

Burger King advertising[edit]

Please stop. Your additions are original research, and your claims of correcting information based on improper sourcing are false. If you continue making these changes, I will be forced to file a report on you. --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 09:30, 17 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for August 31[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Buffalocomotive, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Buffalo (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

File permission problem with File:Tears Of The Enchanted Mainframe - Album Cover.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tears Of The Enchanted Mainframe - Album Cover.jpg, which you've sourced to (Album Cover). I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.  Ronhjones  (Talk) 01:22, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
