Speedy deletion nomination of File:Jaguar XJR16.jpg[edit]

A tag has been placed on File:Jaguar XJR16.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Images and sources[edit]

Infobox images in car articles should follow the guidelines set out at Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Conventions. Also, when adding sources you should make sure that they are reliable (WP:RS). Copyrighted photos and screen shots[edit]

You can not take other people's photos and upload them to Wikipedia under the claim that you are the owner. Nor can you take screen shots of someone else's videos and upload them under the claim that you are the owner. These images will be deleted. The³5₉ (Talk) 06:35, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Where to begin...

The images of the XJR15's engine and suspension came from here, from an XJR-15 being restored in July 2012. Further forum posts in other threads feature the same images you uploaded to Wikipedia. The images you uploaded have been slightly stretched and have a black border added. Further, none of the other photos from this forum post have been uploaded. In fact, the car being restored has actually finished its restoration. If this was in fact your car, you would have the ability to take photos of the interior of the car when it is finished, instead of several where it is missing the steering wheel and seat?

Further down the forum page, there is a YouTube video. This file you uploaded is simply a screen shot of that video.

Of course, lets not forget that you added several copyrighted screenshots to the XJ220 and Tom Walkinshaw Racing articles as well, so your uploads are questionable so as it is. Your claim that this is your car is questionable as your grasp of the English language held by the apparently British user who uploaded the photos to that car forum seems far superior to your grasp of English.

As for results in historic racing, they're utterly useless. The entire series is not true racing as the cars are there to be shown, not to win championships, nor are the regulations designed for parity as the series mixes and matches various eras of cars and classes to run concurrently. Lest we ignore the fact that the XJR-15 is not a Group C car in the first place, the results prove nothing. The³5₉ (Talk) 10:32, 20 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Blank space not being informative is not a reason to turn an article into a picture gallery, not that two pictures of the front of a car is any more informative than blank space. Plus, since you do not have pictures of all the cars built by TWR, there is going to be blank space by default. One picture will suffice, and quite frankly there is no need to have a picture for every single car TWR has constructed. Arrows Grand Prix International does not have a picture of every single Arrows grand prix car, simply because the article is too short to even attempt this, not is there a need. The article is a summary, not a repository for every single factoid possible. As I told you before, I suggest you become aware of Wikipedia's Image Use Policy. Given your propensity for uploading photos that do not belong to you, there was reasonable expectation to question all of your uploads. The fact still remains that some of your uploads are copyright infringements and will be deleted, both from Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons. Uploading photographs from Flickr under the appropriate licenses is OK, but I suggest sticking to photos you yourself physically took.
