Welcome[edit]

A warm welcome to Wikipedia. I see that you've contributed to Sweden-related topics, so perhaps you might be interested in the Swedish Wikipedians' notice board. It's intended as an information hub for Wikipedians with interest in and/or knowledge of Swedish topics. It aims to keep track of ongoing debates and votes relating to Swedish articles, and as a place to list "weak spots", in order to attract the attention of someone knowledgeable in a specific area. If you find it interesting, you can add your signature at the bottom of the page and put it on your watchlist.

By the way, I've put Mijailovic, too, in his category the proper way. Note that, in addition to what R. S. Shaw says above, there is one more thing to keep in mind when you add a page to a category: in order to get the Category page sorted by last names, you should add "|Lastname, Firstname" befor the closing brackets. (I often forget it myself, and people will not blame you if you do, but there's no reason not to strive for perfection, right?) Like this:

[[Category:Swedish criminals|Mijailovic, Mijailo]]

Hope to see you around. Happy editing! / Alarm 14:07, 26 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Note to non-Swedes: The following post only contains an introduction to some Wikipedia basics. There is no discussion on specific content. However, I will translate it on request.
Alarm 23:19, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect syntax[edit]

Hello there - thanks for setting up redirects to The Man on the Roof; it might help to know that you can get them to work automatically using this syntax on the page you want to act as a redirect:

#REDIRECT [[The Man on the Roof]]

That's all you need to do; the software will take care of the rest. I hope that's useful! Loganberry (Talk) 15:05, 28 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Peer review?[edit]

I think your articles on Swedish socialists are very good, and I think you should consider taking a couple of them to peer review to get some input (you can still continue doing whatever you were planning to do with them while they are there), and eventually to nominate them for featured article status. What do you you think? I'd suggest beginning with Ture Nerman. Uppland 11:39, 14 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for the encouragement on my articles about Swedish socialists. What I’m doing with these guys is that I’m reading their autobiographies, one by one, and as I read I write new info for the wiki articles. I’m basically done with Ture Nerman, and right now I’m in the middle of Zeth Höglund’s 3 volume autobiography. After that I will read the 3 volume autobiography of Karl Kilbom and then the 2 volume autobiography of Fredrik Ström, and finally the much shorter autobiography of Anton Nilson. So these articles will grow. When I’m done with that, which of course will take a while, I have a newly published thick book on the early Swedish Communist Movement by historian Aleksander Kan, which will help fill in some stuff and maybe give a little more critical input on some of it. Bronks 14 November 2005.
Make sure you insert detailed references in the articles, as that will be expected when it comes to making them featured articles. I also don't know if you have all the books, but it is something to consider in time if you have borrowed some of them and won't have access to them later.

Yopohari 13:46, 19 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Red Army Song[edit]

the song you are speaking about is usually referred to by its lines: either "Красная армия всех сильней" (the red army is the strongest) or its first line "Белая армия, чёрный барон" (White Army, Black Baron). Both foreign links you mentioned talk about another piece, the instrumental "March of the Red Army" by Reinhold Glière (ru: Глиэр). Sorry, I have no time to write more at the moment. mikka (t) 20:16, 9 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I was not reading the swedish version carefully. It says that the norvegian text is based in the german version. Also indeed, the German text fits the melody of "the red army is the strongest", so it is quite possible that the German version is mistaken, because Gliere's rhythmic structure is quite different. I will check this later. (German version is definitely has an error: Gliere marsh was written in 1924) mikka (t) 01:14, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Confirmed. I downloaded the German song. Its music is "Красная армия всех сильней". I notified the German wiki: de:Diskussion:Die Arbeiter von Wien. mikka (t) 04:46, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Natalie Portman[edit]

Hey mate. I know that you prefer the images in the career section to the right, but I reckon it looks kind of silly, in that, text floats in between gaps and it looks kinda messy. Do you reckon we could give the other way a go for a while, see what other people think? Anyway, I updated a lot of the text in the Career section and plan to do the same for some of the other paragraphs as well. Also what do you reckon about the filmography? I think the huge table sort of detracts from the article..anyway Im rambling, I know your a regular at the NP page, I might propose some changes on the NP talk page. Anyway, think about changing the images around, get other peoples opinions and so on. Seeya. Forever young 20:54, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Participant alert regarding Wikiproject on Advertising[edit]

The Wikiproject No Ads, created as a backlash against the Answers.com deal, has served an important function in providing a space for users to express their disagreement with the Foundation proposal. While the current controversies about userboxes raise questions about political and social advocacy on Wikipedia, there should be greater flexibility regarding advocacy about Wikipedia in the Wikipedia namespace. Reported and linked by Slashdot and other press sources as a unique and spontaneous occurence in Wikipedia history, it has apparently had some impact as, despite being scheduled to begin in January, not a peep has been heard about the trial and proposed sponsored link since the deal's controversial announcement months ago. Currently, however, there is an attempt to delete the project or move it off Wikipedia altogether. Since the Foundation has provided no additional information and has not attempted to answer the specific questions that participants in the project raised, it is unclear if the Answers.com deal has been abandoned or simply delayed. Until the situation becomes more clear, I believe the group should still have a place in the Wikipedia namespace. Sincerely, Tfine80 00:29, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I have proposed (on the talk page for the cat) a renaming. "Members" is akward - the word makes sense for Parties. Could we rename it to "Comintern people" or "Comintern activists"? Dahn 14:34, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bronks, I don't know which template to use. Could you help me? Dahn 15:05, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks again. But we might get static from admins on this one: we were not supposed to do it this way. That's why I had tried to find the template, warning, etc. Frankly, I think that red tape serves no purpose in this case, but we still may get scolded. Dahn 15:30, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for edit summary[edit]

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 21% for major edits and 10% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 150 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 17:31, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I thought you might like appreciate a quick Update on French Turn and Max Shachtman; you've recently contributed there and you might have seen that a moderation was attempted on some disputed edits made by User:Jacrosse. He agreed to the moderation but then did not take part in it. It agreed to delete some unsupported and referenced claims (basically, that Shachtman's current, far from fragementing and collapeing into cold-war social democarcym actually effected a Leninist takeover, both of US social democracy and then of US neo-conseratism. At this point Jacrosse is engaging in obvious acts of vandalism without even beginning to comment on the Talk pages. Perhaps Jacrosse will sit down to Talk, however it seems unlikely. Arbitration may be on the cards. If you can spare a little time over the next week or two, I would appreciate it if you could pop into Talk:French Turn or Talk:Max Shachtman. Your contribution has been very valuable and, of course, the danger is that all parties in this dispute get tangled up and lose our way towards improving the entries. Thanks for the help you've already given. --Duncan 17:10, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Astor hälsar...[edit]

Hej Bronks! Astorr ;-)

Hi, Bronks. I've moved Category:Old Bolsheviks in here, as a sucategory, and erased all duplication within the article. I figured it is safe to call them all "Russian", since they were citizens of Imperial/Soviet Russia (a centralized state), no matter what their actual ethnicity was (which I suppose was the source of your reticence in placing all Old Bolsheviks in "Russian Communists"). I have also included Mayakovsky in "Old Bolsheviks": even though his article does not state it, I assume he joined the Bolsheviks before October. However, I might be wrong. If you cannot supply good reason why she deserves a separate article, it will be tagged again for speedy deletion. I cannot promise that the next person who follows the speedy tag will be so willing to cut you slack as I was. Since there is no link to the article, not even from that for the man you allege is her husband (which oddly does not even mention that he was ever married), there is nothing to suggest that she even deserves mention anywhere on Wikipedia, much less her own article. Ali Esbati, a Stockholmian![edit]

Hi! I reverted your removal of the Stockholmians category on the article on Ali Esbati. The reason I stated in the talk page reads as such:

Ali Esbati can most definitely be categorized as a Stockholmian. Definition on the category page:
This category refers to people who were born and/or grew up in Stockholm, hence have the Swedish Capital as their hometown. The category doesn’t include people who moved to Stockholm at an adult age, or only lived in the city for a short time.
As he moved there at the age of ten, I would deem that he grew up in Stockholm. It is most definitely his hometown. Jobjörn 22:45, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I hope you're OK with that. Best regards, Jobjörn 22:50, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove the fairusedisputed tag without providing the mandatory detailed fair-use rationale for each use of the image, Image:Yxa.blod.Keira.Knightley.JPG, as required by the license. --Yamla 15:33, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You said: "I added the source you asked for. Why did you delete it then...?"
Okay, well the image is still missing a detailed fair-use rationale for each of its uses. Given that it is a promotional photo, it may only be used to promote the movie. That makes its use in King Arthur (film) okay (so long as you add the detailed fair-use rationale) and possibly the use in Keira Knightley as well as that article specifically discusses the movie. Remember, though, that the image cannot be used simply to illustrate the person depicted. Also, every single use requires a detailed fair-use rationale. --Yamla 17:15, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Yxa.blod.Keira.Knightley.JPG[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Yxa.blod.Keira.Knightley.JPG. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu Badali 12:20, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't understand why people put up articles with just one sentence. I think it behooves you to write some text about who built the tunnel, why it was built, interesting history, etc. It appears that the page was created simply to show a neat photograph that you took! Its not an article, its like a factoid in the U.S.A. Today newspaper. george 12:25, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

August Spångberg[edit]

I look forward to seeing the August Spångberg piece improve everyday. Thanks for your knowledgable edits!

I do not have the newspaper name/date for the obituary. My guess it was published either Stockholm or Charlottenberg around June 22, 1987. I think we need to add a source needed message, unless you have access to these papers and can provide a source. I was in Sweden last month but did not get off the train in Charlottenberg on our way from Oslo to Stockholm, so I did not get a chance to see if his papers were in the library. There is someone who knows August backwards and forwards regarding his political activities: Håkan Blomqvist at the Institute of Contemporary History, Södertörn University College. Have you talked with him?

Diogenes99 18:22, 9 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spångberg was a member of the Swedish communist party. If he had been a crhistian he would have been expelled from that party! But that doens't mean he couldn't enjoy christmas. Bronks 09:22, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. When I know enough Swedish to ead his book, perhaps I will know more and be able to write a paragraph on his major legislation. I appreciate all your tweaks and work on the Spangberg page. Diogenes99 17:50, 10 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mona Sahlin and FNL[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you inserted a possibly quite controversial statement in the article on Mona Sahlin. Do you have a source for that? It would be greatly appreciated. Tack på förhand, Jobjörn (Talk ° contribs) 11:47, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I took it from the Swedish wiki, and you can also see it mentioned in todays Dagens Nyheter (19 january), there is nothing strange about it... And it is nothing controversial about FNL at all! Almost everyone in Sweden was against the Vietnam War, and many young people, especially socialists, joined the Swedish FNL groups. Bronks 13:06, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I'll cite it from DN later then. But, even though I most certainly would have joined FNL if I had been alive back in the days, I do believe it is quite controversial in some circles (i e, Timbro-aligned circles) - considering the controversy surrounding Lars Ohly being a "communist", you can't be too sure. But, it's stated in this article, so well. Jobjörn (Talk ° contribs) 13:15, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, good. Sure, of course many or all conservatives and rightist liberals found it wrong to support FNL... But the fact that a social democartic leader like Mona Sahlin has a background with the FNL movement it not controversial. Most of them do, propably even Göran Persson. "However, after a while the public opinion sided with Anton Nilson, Algot Rosberg and Alfred Stern, and a massive campaign was launched to have them freed. Thanks for uploading Image:Kungensmoks.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. AfD nomination of Érika Ortiz Rocasolano[edit]

An editor has nominated Érika Ortiz Rocasolano, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Érika Ortiz Rocasolano and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Sabbatsbergs sjukhus, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Sällskapet[edit]

A tag has been placed on Sällskapet, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. HarryHenryGebel 18:07, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Billingen, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Christer.pettersson.policephoto.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Lokal_Profil 10:34, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Anti.emu.sweden.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Anti.emu.sweden.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Addhoc 15:07, 23 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Folke Filbyter[edit]

Sorry for pestering your article on Folke Filbyter, but early Swedish history is in a horrible state and reading substandard articles on Swedish Wikipedia keeps me away from the place. What I am curious about and what has to be explained in the article is "which legends he appears in".--Berig 16:07, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

One thing that puts me off with Swedish wikipedia are all the cranks who fill early historic Swedish people with assertions of "fictiveness" or the phrase "not historically confirmed". I have verified Folke Filbyter in Nationalencyklopedin and since it was written by a professional historian there was no information about his being fictive or not. This is only natural since it is impossible to know.--Berig 19:58, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, that is true. So far back in history, no one knows if the some of the stories are really true or just legends. And if you go waaaaay back they say that the God Oden was the first King of Sweden... Bronks 08:35, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Gylfi preceded him ;-). In the twilight zone between mythology and history that we call legend, I like everyone to make his or her own decisions about what is true or not.--Berig 11:55, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
PS, assertions about historicity or fictiveness are also in gross violation of the principle of WP:NPOV. Why? Because if you read a Marxist historian like Dick Harrison or an anti-royalist like Curt Weibull you get one picture, but if you read a nationalistic/patriotic scholar like Birger Nerman, you get a totally different picture. There is a great deal of ideology involved in the judgement that individual historicans pass on "historicity".--Berig 12:44, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adam Egede-Nissen[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Adam Egede-Nissen, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. 172.132.175.217 18:54, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:S_wollter_press.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Fjodorfuckyou.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 18:35, 1 August 2007 (UTC). Notability of Tony Olsson[edit]

A tag has been placed on Tony Olsson, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please also note that there are special guidelines regarding biographies of living persons. Material asserting that a person is a neo-nazi bank robber must be sourced, to avoid serious legal issues that can arise from unsoured claims (especially if they are false). --Cheeser1 16:54, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Svenskfreecuban5.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:18, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of List of Swedes who died in the Spanish Civil War[edit]

An editor has nominated List of Swedes who died in the Spanish Civil War, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Swedes who died in the Spanish Civil War and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 09:14, 28 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:MalcX,svenska.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:MalcX,svenska.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mosleys.life.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:Mosleys.life.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. Image source problem with Image:Spartacus fight.JPG[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading Image:Spartacus fight.JPG.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use.

If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 09:48, 29 March 2008 (UTC). Radio Mayakovsky[edit]

A tag has been placed on Radio Mayakovsky, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Radio Mayakovsky and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Maniadis (talk) 03:45, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Lukas Bonnier. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

A tag has been placed on Gustaf Hammarsten requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. andy (talk) 14:43, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I cannot find him referenced as a star, much less an actor in that movie. If he had a minor role, that is not notable enough for inclusion. I did not blindly delete this article, i did my research. I also removed your addition to the article on bruno where you added his name to the starring list. If you have any other questions, please let me know. Thanks! Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 15:17, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the article and the reference again. The source you cited is the ONLY reference I can find to this and potentially unreliable. As mor einformation becomes abailable i would not be opposed to re-creation but until then it is not relibale enough to be included on this project. Please refrain from re-creating the article or re-adding that to the "starring" section of the bruno film article. If he were in fact "starring" in the film, he would be referenced in many more places than a single article (i even did a google news search and several other searches and found NOTHING about it). his IMDB profiles does not mention the movie Bruno and the Bruno movie IMDB profiles does not mention his name, at all. Again, we need reliable sources and I am saying the one provided is not. If anything else comes to light let me know and I will gladly un-delete the article. Thanks! Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 16:01, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also note that the text of the article makes it very clear that hammarsten has not confirmed or denied anything for risk of being sued (which means that it is based on rumours of some sort). He may or may not be a co-star in the film but until we get RELIABLE information we cannot accept this. Again, if reliable information presents itself, let me know and I will evne help write the article. Chrislk02 Chris Kreider 16:07, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

September 2009[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Mammoth (film) a different title by copying its content and pasting it into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other articles that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 16:27, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! It seems you recently created an unreferenced biography of a living person: Vladimir Ulas. Our verifiability policy requires that all content be cited to a reliable source. Please add references as soon as possible. Thanks! --LaraBot (talk) 00:11, 16 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. An unreferenced article you recently created does not comply with Wikipedia's policy regarding biographies of living people, so it has been moved into your user space: user:Bronks/Vladimir Ulas. Once reliable sources have been added, it may be moved back into the article space. If reliable sources are not added in a reasonable amount of time, the page may be deleted. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me on my talk page. Thanks! --MZMcBride (talk) 04:11, 19 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:C5 tunnelbana.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:C5 tunnelbana.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Angus McLellan (Talk) 22:30, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mohammed Beck Hadjetlaché[edit]

Hello,

I've seen that you're the creator of the article about Mohammed Beck Hadjetlaché. I'm quite surprised by this article since i've got personal familial sources which contradict part pf what is stated in it. I would thus pretty much like to access your sources for this article.

Thank you by advance,

  • Hej! The main source I had when I created the article was a book, but it is in Swedish: Ryssligan by Svante Lundberg (2004), which is about his activities in Sweden with the murders etc. ... But I see know that the article has been changed a lot since I started it... Bronks (talk) 13:20, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • OK thanks,

I don't read swedish, so i haven't had the possibility to read this source. Do you know of translations of this book? I got some personal documents (in French which i could possibly try to scan & translate one of these days. (but not right know!) Talk to you soon,

Mme Berthe (talk) 13:40, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No, this book is only in Swedish and I don't think it will be translated unfortunately. Bronks (talk) 19:16, 26 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Norbert Kröcher has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unreferenced, negative biography of a living person. Please do not remove this prod tag without sourcing the article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. NW (Talk) 19:36, 16 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Coca Cola Cowboys[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Coca Cola Cowboys. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Coca Cola Cowboys. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:12, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Che.Guerrilla.Warfare.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Che.Guerrilla.Warfare.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. File:Fredrikstrom.ung.jpg needs authorship information[edit]

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded as File:Fredrikstrom.ung.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source), or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the media clearer.

Although some images may not need author information in obvious cases, (such where an applicable source is provided), authorship information aids users of the image, and helps ensure that appropriate credit is given (a requirement of some licenses).

  • If you created this media yourself, please consider explicitly including your user name, for which: {{subst:usernameexpand|Bronks}} will produce an appropriate expansion,
    or use the {{own}} template.
  • If this is an old image, for which the authorship is unknown or impossible to determine, please indicate this on the file description page.
If you have any questions please see Help:File page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:31, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article Karin Smirnov has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of independent notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File source problem with File:Ska 018.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Ska 018.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

Image copyright problem with File:Fabianstaty.jpg[edit]

Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:Fabianstaty.jpg.

This image is a derivative work, containing an "image within an image". Examples of such images would include a photograph of a sculpture, a scan of a magazine cover, or a screenshot of a computer game or movie. In each of these cases, the rights of the creator of the original image must be considered, as well as those of the creator of the derivative work.

While the image description page states the source and copyright status of the derivative work, it only names the creator of the original work without specifying the status of their copyright over the work.

Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the original image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other derivative works, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. Thanks again for your cooperation. Kelly hi! 16:06, 9 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
