Eric Daman article[edit]

Hi Brian, This is in reply to your post on my talk page:

Hi Uzma,Thanks for trying to help me clarify the situation. I am not Eric Daman, but I did set up the account on his behalf (at my own suggestion) since he is named numerously throughout Gossip Girls pages and others I believe. IN you opinion would it be better for me to submit the article from my own (new) username/sandbox (brianleeboyce)? Also I appreciate the advice to add photos of Eric as you outlined subsequently to your first note! thanks again! Ericdamanstyle (talk) 19:04, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

You are better off contributing to Wikipedia through your Brianleeboyce account. The Ericdamanstyle account may have at least three problems: Promotional name, shared use, and username that impersonate other people. See Wikipedia:Username policy. You may have a conflict of interest with Eric Daman topics, so you may want to look over WP:COI. I'm not sure what you mean by "submit the article from my own (new) username/sandbox." The Eric Daman article is in article/main space (I should know since I spent the better part of eariler today modifying it!). If you get the photos into commons.wikimedia.org, I'll put them into the article and fix up a category within commons.wikimedia.org to where you can add other Eric Daman photos into a folder. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 03:40, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Eric Daman article Media appearances and Further reading sections[edit]

The problem with the Media appearances section is that it reads, "Daman has appeared on ..." How do we know this? The Wikipedia editor saw his appearance on these medias and reported within Wikipedia. Wikipeida editors should not be reporters. They merely need to use what happened in the media appearances to expand the biography article. The further reading section also has the same problem. How do we know that "Reports of Daman's work as costume designer for Gossip Girl can be found in ..." Because a Wikipedia editor saw these and reported to Wikipedia. Wikipeida editors should not be reporters. Instead, the material within each of the further reading references should be summarized within the Wikipedia biography article. The information in both the media appearances and further reading sections should be incorporated into the prose part of the article and the sections deleted. -- Uzma Gamal (talk) 15:35, 22 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
