Readers looking for accurate information will not find them amusing. If you'd like to experiment with editing, try the sandbox, where you can write practically anything you want. Don't put inappropriate tags in deletion discussions. We're not trying to "delete science." We're discussing whether the term is sufficiently notable for its own article on Wikipedia. However, I reverted your redirect of Hurricaine back to the medication benzocaine, since it seems a little more apropos for the redirect, incorrectly spelled, to go to its similarly-spelled medical equivalent. I'm hesitant to create disambiguation pages for misspelled words, so I'm inclined to leave it as is. You should tread lightly in such situations, remembering that there are many such ambiguities among the nearly 3.7 million articles that must be finessed. Thundersnow[edit]

I have removed your addition to Thundersnow. You claim to have received suggestions to add it there, but I see no consensus nor on-wiki discussion of the addition. Please try to locate reliable sources to support the addition. Thank you for realizing you may be too close to the subject to be able to write neutrally about it. I do hope that you'll continue editing other subjects of which you have in-depth knowledge and access to sources, yet less of an emotional attachment.
On my last comment at talk:Thundersnow, I also want to clarify that when I stated "Eventually, if the warning catches on elsewhere and reliable sources begin to publish the term that may change - but it's not there yet.", the word 'yet' is very relevant. Wikipedia evolves as changes in the real-world evolve; just because a subject, as yet, lacks third-party reliable sources does not mean it can never be added. Eventually, if/when the warning terminology receives broader usage and becomes published by third party reliable sources, then it would certainly deserve mention in Wikipedia.
If there's anything I can help you on with your editing to Wikipedia, feel free to ask. New pages for warnings[edit]

I noticed you've been creating new pages for NWS products. First, I wanted to say thank you - it's something I've been working on for a while and got distracted from. The only thing I'd suggest you do different is to make sure you cite the info about the warning (the NWS glossary has most of them in there), and add the {{SevWea nav}} code to the bottom so the navbox is placed there. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at User talk:MikeWazowski, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. FYI, I've tagged Wikipedia:TROLLWARN, Wikipedia:TRL-W, Wikipedia:TRW, and Wikipedia:WAME for speedy deletion under WP:G8, as they all redirect to nonexistent pages. Bowser, competence is required to edit on Wikipedia. Editors have been blocked, and even community banned, in the past because they refused to listen to others when given good advice and continued on down a disruptive path. Userfying project pages during MfD discussions[edit]

I notice that in a couple of cases you have userfied project pages that were under discussion at WP:MFD. Although I understand why you are doing this, I would recommend against this practice. It complicates the discussions and in some cases the userfied page may be deleted anyway. It would be better to offer userfication as an option early in the discussion (which can lead to that being the consensus result) or requesting userfication after the project page has been deleted (which many admins would grant if the page is userspace-appropriate). You are of course free to disregard this advice, and those of us who close this type of discussion will make the best of it we can, but it would be helpful. Your pages[edit]

Since it's becoming pretty clear that the pages you made aren't living up to our standards, I think the best thing for you is to start over from scratch with the pages, and always start in your userspace, never any other namespace. If you want to propose a new club or something like Cieluza, please get community consensus first at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals).

A helping hand[edit]

Hey, I feel like we're getting off on the wrong foot. I can see you're interested in hurricanes, which I greatly value. That is one half of the equation for being a writer of good hurricane articles. The other half, unfortunately, is what you're lacking. It's that certain something in great writers, and I can see a bit of it in you. You're enthusiastic about what you do! However, you're using your enthusiasm in the wrong way.

I strongly suggest you stop creating subpages and Wikipedia pages. It isn't really helpful for the encyclopedia. Wikipedia is about an encyclopedia, so we're all here to improve the articles. If you're not doing that, then you're not really helping out. If I may ask, what aspect of tropical cyclones do you enjoy? Is there a certain time period or basin you track more often than others? You know, there are hundreds of hurricane articles out there that need help. Some need as little work as fixing links and copyediting, while others need more substantial work such as adding in content.

There is no other template for separation, therefore it is not a duplication of another template. This is perfectly useful, as it is the opposite of a merge tag. I have not created a template or a later-deleted page in days, so don't accuse me of doing it on any kind of frequent "level". T3 requires that this template's purpose already be covered by a previously existing one AS WELL as not being used at the time. I've read the CSD too. Disruptive editing is a pattern of edits, which may extend over a considerable period of time or number of articles, that has the effect of disrupting progress toward the fundamental project of building an encyclopedia. You wanna know in what way I've contributed to ALL THREE weather projects? The way is that the vast majority of my edits have not been deleted or rv'd. The way is that Wind advisory, hurricane force wind warning and severe outbreak didn't exist before me. The way is that There were major errors in the flag system as noted on tropical storm warning and all of the other sections in the US part of that page before I fixed them. The way is that I updated TC watches/warnings to include the deprecation of the "inland advisories" which were discontinued this year. The way is that I improved Beaufort Scale. The way is that I uploaded File:Gale pennant.png and File:Stormwarning.png. The way is that before me, significant weather advisory referred to the EAS as "all TVs, radios, and other devices in the radius of the alert are swithched off and start to broadcast alerts. They start off with beeping-like sounds, a phone, the broadcasters announce the alert,`then makes beep sounds to exit the alert broadcast." The way is that I marked the heavy snow warning, sleet warning, snow advisory, and blowing snow advisory as deprecated on Severe_weather_terminology_(United_States). The way Is that I initiated the discussion resulting in a major wording fix on tropical cyclone. The way is that I purge wikipedia of the typos "hurricaine", "tronado", and, "tornaod", "tornados" "torando". Don't say I should refrain from creating articles, because I created three that were needed. Don't say I don't contribute, because I have updated, improved, and created many weather articles and killed 5 typos. I did a few of the things I've listed here before I even registered. Don't accuse me of being a non-contributor. You are tracking the things which have been deleted without looking over the other, vast majority of my edits. It can be noted quantitatively here that I have 452 live edits and only 140 deleted edits. Numbers don't lie and less than 24% of my edits have been deleted. No, the question is not how have I contributed to the projects. Now that you've realized that it's a duplicate and unnecessary, if you truly mean to not be disruptive, I would suggest tagging the page with {{db-author}}, so that the template can be deleted under G7 immediately, instead of having to sit there for 7 days. April 2012[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give April 25–28, 2011 tornado outbreak a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is needed for attribution and various other purposes. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. About all those redirects you created to the super outbreak pages...most of those redirects are unnecessary as it is very infrequently that "Super Outbreak" is confused for "superoutbreak". File source problem with File:Virginia-derecho-damage.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Virginia-derecho-damage.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Thanks for uploading File:Derecho-radar-max.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

WikiProject Weather: Map Dot & Template/Infobox Colors[edit]

Dear project member, This message is being sent out to encourage new ideas and feedback on those proposed in regard to the colors debate for WikiProject Weather. For those who are unaware of what's been happening over the last year, I will give a brief summary. We have been discussing proposed changes to the colors of the dots on tropical cyclone maps and templates and infoboxes across the entire weather project in order to solve issues related to the limited contrast between colors for both normal vision as well as the various types of color blindness (MOS:ACCESS). We had partially implemented a proposal earlier this year, however, it was objected to by a number of people and additional issues were presented that made it evident this wasn't the optimal solution. We tried to come up with other solutions to address the issues related to color contrast, however, none of them gained traction and no consensus was generated.

We need your help and I encourage you to propose your own scale and give feedback on those already listed. Keep in mind that we are NOT making a decision on any individual proposal at this time. We are simply allowing people to make proposals and cultivate them given feedback from other project members. Please visit our project page for additional details.
