License tagging for Image:Ujjayanta Palace.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ujjayanta Palace.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

jumping spiders[edit]

hi borok,

why did you remove the disambiguation link to the jumping spider genus Sarinda? Don't you like spiders? ;)

just asking, because i put it back up there, and if you removed it for some special reason, maybe we can sort it out.

btw., here's a picture of one. it tries to look like an ant :) The spider genus was actually named after the musical instrument Sarinda, the discoverers of the genus were fans of Indian culture, and gave several spider genera Indian names.

Wikipedia in Kokborok[edit]

Hi

I am very happy with the developments that are going on in the Wikipedia. I have observed that there are hundreds of languages listed in translated versions of articles. I would like to propose that a Wikipedia page be started in Kokborok language. If any help is needed I can devote myself to develop it. I would also like to request to give me ADMIN status for Kokborok version of Wikipedia.

--Borok 06:25, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Borok. It's great to see you work on articles on Tripura. I once tried to develop some, but could not proceed much. It will be great to have a WP in Kokborok. However, you should ask some admin. I suggest you talk with Nichalp (talk · contribs · count). He is a veteran Indian wikipedian who can guide you. Also you can talk with Bdebbarma (talk · contribs · count) for collaboration helps. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 15:08, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Tripura towns[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to the Indian town articles. Please do not add external links in the intro. Add them to the External links section. For adding references, please read Wikipedia:Footnotes. - Ganeshk (talk) 16:52, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A few matters[edit]

Hi Pankaj,

Interesting to see your contributions at wiki. A few matters:

  • One cannot copy-paste text material from websites into the wiki-articles, as that counts as violation of copyright. Its generally better with a resume of the text, and a linked reference to the full text.

--Soman 13:00, 26 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add commercial links or links to your own private websites to Wikipedia, as you did in Banamalipur. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links as long as the content abides by our policies and guidelines. If you feel the link should be added to the article, then please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. A link to the edit I have reverted can be found here: link. If you believe this edit should not have been reverted, please contact me. --AbsolutDan (talk) 12:32, 1 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've proposed the deletion of this article because I think it fails to meet the policy guideline WP:CORP. If you can improve the article to show that it does, that improvement would be a good answer. Mereda 09:59, 28 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright violation in St. Paul's School, Agartala[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on St. Paul's School, Agartala, by Crimethinker (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because St. Paul's School, Agartala is unquestionably copyright infringement, and no assertion of permission has been made.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting St. Paul's School, Agartala, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate St. Paul's School, Agartala itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 00:51, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:Jora.PNG[edit]

Image Copyright problem
Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:Jora.PNG. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 07:01, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:ABFlogo.gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:ABFlogo.gif. You've indicated that the image meets Wikipedia's criteria for non-free content, but there is no explanation of why it meets those criteria. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. If you have any questions, please post them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions.

Thank you for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 17:46, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Jora Twitun[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jora Twitun, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jora Twitun seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jora Twitun, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Orphaned non-free media (Image:KOHMlogo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:KOHMlogo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:35, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Neville Callam[edit]

Dear Borok

The page you created on Neville Callam was basically plagiarised. Most of the text was lifted word-for-word from other published material online. I have done my best to paraphrase, but the information is still basically what you stole from a press-release style biography on the internet. In the future it would be a good idea to try to gather more sources and to produced a thoroughly researched article in your own words, rather than just copying and pasting from a single webpage. What you did is copyright violation. It is not scholarship and it is not even legal.

Best wishes

--Oxonian2006 (talk) 16:48, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You were editing Wikipedia yesterday and yet you didn't bother to respond to my message. I find this strange, given that my message was one drawing attention to your placing plagiarised material on Wikipedia.--Oxonian2006 (talk) 14:51, 17 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

NowCommons: File:Tripuri Childrens.jpg[edit]

File:Tripuri Childrens.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:File:Tripuri Childrens.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[File:Tripuri Childrens.jpg]]. Note that this is an automated message to inform you about the move. This bot did not copy the image itself. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 21:00, 6 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Tripura[edit]

Hello Pankaj, How are you? The article Tripura is being expanded, with a final goal to bring to at least good article level. I have accumulated some reliable good sources and listed them in the article talk page.

Pleas help expand and improve the article. It will be excellent if you can upload some more photos. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 01:14, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Logo of the Tripura Baptist Christian Union.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Logo of the Tripura Baptist Christian Union.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 15:39, 17 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
