A warm welcome from Bottesiηi[edit]

Hello, Blastphemy, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay.
Here are a few good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian!
If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up very shortly to answer your questions. Don't be afraid to ask!
If you would like to experiment with Wikipedia, I invite you to do so in my own personal sandbox (just follow the simple rules!) or in the Wikipedia sandbox.
When you contribute on talk pages or in other areas, it is important to sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date.

Happy editing! --ßottesiηi (talk) 23:36, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about not noticing about your thanks; I don't check my sandbox very often. Anyways, no problem! I'm on wikibreak starting tomorrow morning, so I won't be able communicate with you regularly if you have any questions. -- ßottesiηi (talk) 03:04, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

How to properly allow Wikipedia to include text from a copyrighted website[edit]

Please follow the steps below in order to conclusively allow Wikipedia to distribute your text:

(This is taken from the header at the top of Wikipedia:Copyright problems.)

Copyright owners who submitted their own work to Wikipedia: If you submitted work to Wikipedia which you had previously published (especially online), and your submission was marked as a potential infringement of copyright, stating that you are the copyright holder of the work on the article's talk page helps, but will not likely prevent deletion. It is sufficient to:

  • Make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication.
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions at wikimedia dot org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation.

Regards, Kimchi.sg 02:50, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. Please sign your posts by writing ~~~~ after each message you put on a talk page. It is very confusing for others to follow your posts if you don't do this. Kimchi.sg 02:55, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thankyou for your help in regard to the sig key.

I have responded to copyright proof requirements and await the outcome.

notes to myself:[edit]

Evaluating reliability

Evaluate the reliability of online sources just as you would print or other more traditional sources. Neither online nor print sources deserve an automatic assumption of reliability by virtue of the medium they are printed in. All reports must be evaluated according to the processes and people that created them.

Publications with teams of fact-checkers, reporters, editors, lawyers, and managers — like the New York Times or The Times of London — are likely to be reliable, and are regarded as reputable sources for the purposes of Wikipedia. At the other end of the reliability scale lie personal websites, blogs, bulletin boards, and Usenet posts, which are not acceptable as sources.

Note that Wikipedia itself does not currently meet the reliability guidelines; however, nothing in this guideline is meant to contravene the associated guideline: Wikipedia:Build the web. Wikilink freely.

An opinion is a view that someone holds, the content of which may or may not be verifiable. However, that a certain person or group expressed a certain opinion is a fact (that is, it is true that the person expressed the opinion) and it may be included in Wikipedia if it can be verified; that is, if you can cite a good source showing that the person or group expressed the opinion.

Warning[edit]

Do not engage in personal attacks or other forms of incivility or you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Also, please sign your posts on Talk pages with four tildes (~~~~). Just zis Guy you know? 06:55, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Username[edit]

Please consider changing your username to something that does not have offensive connotations to some religions. You can request to change username at Wikipedia:Changing username. Thanks! Kimchi.sg 11:51, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

username reply[edit]

Hmmm would you recommend applying for a new username or simply creating a new account ? I can't decide which is the best idea.

Blas't'phemy wasn't created to cause offence. I use this name when I play Unreal Tournament in which context it is quite apt i.e BlasT.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Blastphemy (talkcontribs)

It's quicker to just get a new account, since you have only 87 edits currently. Please see Wikipedia:Username for what's nice and what's not. Regards, Kimchi.sg 13:19, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. There's no need to mark out your reply with a new section heading every time. Just start a new line and put ":" before your reply. Kimchi.sg 13:19, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

":"

Ok will do. Thanks.

Miranda 13:24, 28 June 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, in my previous sentence, I meant put : before your reply, without the quotation marks. Did mean to make you look bad. :(
Secondly, after you change your username, just tell me on this page what your new username is, so that the your current username can be blocked as a potentially offensive username. Thanks! Kimchi.sg 13:39, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
hehee, that was my own stupidity - I should have realised! Anyway this is my new username :) And thanks again.

Mirjay 13:41, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem.
P.S. Don't argue too hard over Kelly Roberti's article. At least we have something on him rather than nothing. If anyone wants the article deleted, they can't use the silly "copyright" excuse anymore. :) Kimchi.sg 13:53, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have blocked you as a formality for your username, and will be copying the previous bit of conversation to your new user talk page. ^_^ Kimchi.sg 13:58, 28 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
