RE:Problems with persistent vandalism[edit]

Hi BlackThor, well the IP in question is not active enough to be blocked at this time. Also, the IP's edits may not be blatant vandalism but good faith removals of what they believe are vanity entries. I believe personalized message over a warning template about how removals of material that could be contested should be discussed on article talk pages would be a good idea. However, if the IP continues to unilaterally remove names within a 24 hr time frame (not sporadically over the past month), try reporting to WP:AIV. At the moment though, the IP's edits do not appear to be blatant vandalism to me.¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:12, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Victoria Jackson-Stanley[edit]

Yeah, you are counting the wrong thing. (It's easy enough to do) What is counted is the number of characters (including spaces) in the text of the article as it appears when you're not editing it. See Template talk:Did you know#Instructions for more information. Thingg 22:44, 13 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Great job with the article. Hook verified. Looking forward to seeing it on the Main Page! btw, I'm will always do my best to help you if you request it. You're not going to bother me no matter how many times you ask, so always feel free to ask. Regards. Thingg 00:25, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nat Williams[edit]

Thanks for the message on my talk page. Please note that I thought about PRODing the Nat Williams article for deletion. Because there is a hint of notability as the first African-American sheriff in the parish, I felt it would have been wrong to PROD it. Since I was not sure of his notability, I felt it was correct to tag it. In particular, he doesn't satisfy WP:N and WP:LEA. And I am not sure what the "Controversies" section has to do with him; he wasn't in office then and since he's only been in office for a month it's too early to tell if he is turning things around. You have made some interesting additions to the article. However, I am still not convinced of notability. Therefore, I am leaving the tag. Let the Wikimunity as a whole decide if it should stay. Thanks. Truthanado (talk) 23:35, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead and DYK it. I see nothing in WP:DYK that prevents an article with a questionable-notability tag from becoming a DYK article. In fact, the DYK nomination will get a lot of people to review the article and there should be a quick determination of notability. If the article is truly notable and worthy of DYK, the tag will be removed. Go for it. Good luck. Truthanado (talk) 00:31, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I see it didn't take long for someone to remove the tag. Truthanado (talk) 03:05, 19 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ambre Anderson[edit]

Hi BlackThor! How are u? Yeah I came across an article in a magazine a little while ago and it was talking about America's image of models. I remember her being mentioned as one of the people that was on the subject just basically stating she has native heritage in her family however, most people would call her black even when she told people of being of Native American heritage as well. It was an interesting article.Mcelite (talk) 23:32, 21 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. It's been a little while. To be honest it might have been jet magazine. I wish I kept that thing I like learning from those kind of articles. I'll see if one of my friends knows what magazine that was printed in it was a little while ago.Mcelite (talk) 04:00, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Template:BlackThor/DYK[edit]

Hi BlackThor. I moved Template:BlackThor/DYK to "User:BlackThor/DYK" since user templates normally are maintained in user space. I similarly moved User:Marylandstater's template. -- Suntag 21:03, 7 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Adam Birch GA review[edit]

Hi there! I'm the nominator of Adam Birch at WP:GAN, which you signed up to review well over a week ago. I notice you've been inactive since then, so I was wondering if you would object to me removing your name as reviewer, so that someone else can take over? I will give you a few days to respond to this message, but I have been waiting for a review for three months, so I apologise if I seem a little hasty. Thanks, and please respond if you are online in the next few days. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 01:03, 8 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I'd like to apologise again for being so impatient, patience really isn't one of my strong points. :( I do hope you won't let my impatience put you off reviewing other articles though. We really need reviewers! Thanks and apologies once again. ♥NiciVampireHeart♥ 03:38, 9 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are you around?[edit]

I'm thinking of doing a GA review for Saqib Ali, which you nominated, but I see that you've been inactive for the last month. The involvement of the nominator is obviously crucial in getting an article up to GA standards, and I don't want to undertake the review unless you're going to be around and involved. Are you? Your GA nomination of Saqib Ali[edit]

The article Saqib Ali you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Saqib Ali for things needed to be addressed. Warrior4321

Your GA nomination of Saqib Ali[edit]

The article Saqib Ali you nominated as a good article has failed ; see Talk:Saqib Ali for reasons why the nomination failed. If or when these points have been taken care of, you may apply for a new nomination of said article. If you oppose this decision, you may ask for a reassessment. Disambiguation link notification for March 4[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Maryland gubernatorial election, 2014, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Craig Rice (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
