I'm a year late to the party[edit]

I see nobody bothered to welcome you and I'm a year late to the Melanie Joy and carnism debate, but I agree with you, the concept is indeed notable and supported by reliable sources. I'm going to try working on it for a few days and then if I'm able, I'm going to ask for unprotection. Unfortunately, the Wikipedia community has several glaring blind spots when it comes to terms like this. It's just something we have to put up with. I can think of a dozen notable subjects right off of the top of my head that have been deleted and then recreated because large numbers of editors showed up to delete a notable term because they had personally never heard of it.
