The charted B-sides on the Elvis singles?

I like to read stuff on Wikipedia and I think that the Elvis singles article is a bit strange. I can't find what single came next after the other because you decided to add a B-side section. That is the only confusing part that I have about the article. I was thinking in mixing the B-sides and adding them with the A-sides. In this case, users can know what single came after. For example, how can I tell how many #1's Elvis had in a year if I also have to look at the B-sides also. Can you change this or something? As for the other part I think it looks great. The only thing bad about it is the B-sides section. Other artists don't have that at all. So why Elvis? ( Bryan1518 (talk) 01:10, 25 January 2019 (UTC) )

I think the issue you're having with the page comes from a lack of understanding on how singles are released. The A-side ("Heartbreak Hotel" for example) is the single, the plug, the intended promotional track being sent to radio. The B-side (in this case, "I Was the One") is just an additional song, the flip. Due to Elvis' overwhelming popularity almost all of his B-sides charted, but that does not make them singles. You made a comment about not knowing what single came next, the next single was "I Want You, I Need You, I Love You". That's why the page is laid out that way, so the next single is easily identifiable. Another issue you mentioned having with the page was not knowing how many No. 1 singles Elvis had in a year, all 18 of his No. 1 songs on the US Billboard Hot 100 were A-sides, with the exception of the double A-side "Hound Dog" / "Don't Be Cruel". All 18 are present in the singles section. As for other artists not having a charted B-side section, if they don't have that section on their singles discography pages that's because they haven't had any B-sides chart. The few times an artist has had a B-side chart they do have that section on their pages, for examples see George Strait singles discography, Alabama discography, Dolly Parton singles discography and Porter Wagoner and Dolly Parton discography. Tanya Tucker singles

Hello. First of all I just want you to know that I appreciate your edits and your contributions to Tanya Tucker’s singles page. However, please keep in mind that you are not following Wiki style guidelines in that chart positions should be in alphabetical order. Billboard Hot 100 comes before Billboard Hot Country Songs (numbers before letters...ex 100 before Country). Also the width of the charts are much too wide. My edits that I worked on focused on shortening the tables so that the are easier to read. Tucker has simply too many charrs listed for it to look the way it currently does. The way that you currently have them is not as reader-friendly. On certain browsers it can be harder to read. Also, my reasoning for making a separate “other singles” table is because those additional singles you have included do not necessarily fit in the main singles page. Songs like “A Rock and Roll Girl from Alaska” were issued outside of the United States. Most singles charts you will find have those types of singles included in a separate chart. I am okay naming that chart something else but I think the way it is currently set up is too exhaustive and should be reconsidered. Hey, I made a compromise that I hope you'll be okay with. I put the Hot 100 before the Country chart as you requeste and made the columns smaller. I also moved "Hello, Mr. Sunshine" and "A Rock 'n' Roll Girl from Alaska" to the promotional singles section, since they were issued to promote a brand of coffee in Japan. I opted to leave "Save Me" in the main singles section since it was reviewed in Billboard magazine upon release. I hope you're okay with this compromise. Thank you for the fixes. Putting the Hot 100 first follows guidelines. Even though a lot of country discographies do not follow this rule, keep in mind that a lot of them have not been cleaned up in years and are following prior guideline rules. Also putting those singles in a separate table works! I realized that not all of them were promotional releases. "Hello Mr. Sunshine" and "A Rock and Roll Girl from Alaska" were issued in Japan and the UK. We should probably also move "Traveling Salesman" and "Pride of Franklin County" to the promotional table since they were only released in Japan and the UK (see the references for details on where they were issued). I think singles only released on a wider scale should be included on the main singles tables. Instead of calling that table "promotional singles", I'm wondering if we can change that to make it titled something like "promotional and international singles". That way, it is not inaccurate for readers who might think "Traveling Salesman" for example is a promo single when in fact it was just released outside of the US. Upon further reflection, based on MOS:TITLECONFORM, MOS:CONFORM, and MOS:DECADE, I believe The King of Rock 'n' Roll: The Complete 50's Masters should, in fact, be moved to The King of Rock 'n' Roll: The Complete '50s Masters (even though I, personally, wouldn't choose to do it that way). The related titles From Nashville to Memphis: The Essential '60s Masters and Walk a Mile in My Shoes: The Essential '70s Masters have already been so moved (which I'm guessing you may have noticed before you moved the 1950s article). Neither Facebook post nor Found.ee distributes the song as a "single". Furthermore, the cover art was used as "the first track from Kristin Chenoweth's upcoming album For the Girls", not a "single". Moreover, not one major music websites lists the song as a single. The Amazon page used as citation for "single" release is a page of an album track from For the Girls. It may fail WP:NFCC and/or WP:IUP.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Adding extra track listings

Hi. I'd just like to let you know before you add 7 KB of "additional track listings" to another article like you did at Voyage (ABBA album): I was in half a mind to remove these, because not only are you essentially replicating track lists that are already available at two other articles (ABBA Gold and The Definitive Collection (ABBA album)), but in case you didn't know, MOS:ALBUM#Alternative track listings now says to include the track lists of other editions only "when the tracks are the subject of extensive commentary in the article. [...] Otherwise, notable differences can be summarised in the prose in lieu of additional track lists." Also, extensive links to shopping sites should be avoided per WP:AFFILIATE. We didn't need two citations to both Amazon.co.jp (in the track listing) and CDJapan (in the release history section) for the same thing. Ss112 10:16, 9 September 2021 (UTC)

ABBA discography/More than 10 chart columns in one wikitable

Hello again. Regarding your edits to ABBA discography, I implore and encourage you in future to instead remove a chart that's clearly been added later to the table, over the recommended (and widely followed) maximum of 10 chart columns, instead of incorporating it into the table as you did here. It makes it harder to revert when you've gone about fixing the table in the meantime. If you come across a discography with a wikitable with more than 10 chart columns, make a few edits and cut the number of columns down to 10 by only retaining the charts where the artist was most successful/had the most entries. Certifications in list of awards

Hi Benjichilders. You did not use an edit summary so I can't tell why you restored the sales certifications to List of awards and nominations received by Dolly Parton. There is very clear consensus that sales certifications should not be listed as awards. I just sampled some featured lists, Madonna, Lady Gaga, Adele, and it is very clear that none of them includes certifications. The reason is obvious: per WP:LSC a list should have a clear inclusion criteria. In this case it is obvious: "awards and nominations". Sales certifications are not awards nor nominations, they are literally just that: sales certifications.
