A tag has been placed on World's First Logical Quantum Processor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://phys.org/news/2023-12-logical-qubits-quantum-errors.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. The page World's First Logical Quantum Processor has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done for the following reason:

WP:G12; my mistake, the rest of it is copyvio/WP:close paraphrasing from https://www.techexplorist.com/first-programmable-logical-quantum-processor/78343/ or similar

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. One more warning on copying[edit]

I have been examining your editing history, and it is evident that most if not all of the material you have posted to Wikipedia has essentially been copied from other websites. I say "essentially" because in some cases you have attempted to hide the fact that you are copying by minor rewording. Slight changes in wording, while still leaving it obvious that what you post is substantially copied, is not enough to satisfy Wikipedia's copyright policy. Furthermore, it is clear that in making such changes in wording you have been more concerned with trying to make a copy that doesn't look like a copy than with thinking about the meaning of the text and ensuring that you retain that meaning. This has resulted in your making alterations to wording which significantly change the meaning, in some cases absurdly so, as for example when you replaced the word "monopoles" with "monopolies", and when you replaced "test whether the theory held water" with "test whether the theory involves water". If you don't have enough understanding of idiomatic English to realise that referring to a theory as holding water is nothing to do with whether the theory "involves" water, then you probably should not be trying to create articles in an English language encyclopaedia. Please change your approach to contributing to Wikipedia; if you don't, you will very soon be blocked from editing by an administrator. More than three quarters of the edits you have made have been deleted; that alone should alert you to the fact that there are serious problems. JBW (talk) 20:03, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(edit conflict) Batuhanozatar, I've blanked Draft:Purple Bronze Discovery and listed it at WP:CP for clean-up – it contains content copied from at least two non-free sources. Please take notice of the warning from JBW immediately above this – editors who persistently fail to respect our copyright policy are likely to end up without editing privileges here. Thanks, Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:14, 23 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The draft mentioned by Justlettersandnumbers provides an excellent illustration of what I meant above by "Slight changes in wording, while still leaving it obvious that what you post is substantially copied". Copying text while changing "with just a small change of temperature" to "with just a small temperature change" and "even light exposure" to "even exposure to light" does not avoid copyright problems. Further problems[edit]

I have just read User:Batuhanozatar/sandbox. You have posted a strange mixture of statements about minicomputers and statements which absolutely don't apply to minicomputers, but appear to relate to some later, much smaller computers, perhaps notepads. For example, you refer to minicomputers as "portable" and say that they "can be carried". I suggest you look at the picture at the top of this page (which you yourself cited as a reference in the draft). It shows a PDP-8 minicomputer. You can't actually see the whole computer, as it extends off both the top and the bottom of the picture, but you can see enough to get an impression of how portable it is, and how easily it can be carried. You also state that minicomputers are "cheaper than desktop computers". Look at the same page again, which you cited as a reference. You will see that the PDP-8 initially cost $18,500, which the author says is "equivalent to approximately $150,000 in today's currency". I don't think that a typical desktop computer toady costs even $18,500, let alone $150,000.

It seems to me that the root cause of the problems with your editing is probably that you are in a rush to create new articles, so that you cobble together pages out of bits and pieces that you find, without taking the necessary time and trouble to check that what you are doing is right. You need to slow down, and do more checking. Above all, actually read the references you post, and make sure that they really do support the information that they are supposed to be references for. Creating new articles is one of the most difficult tasks in working for Wikipedia, and can be successfully done only with a significant amount of experience of how contributing to Wikipedia works. My advice to new editors is that it is best to start by making small improvements to existing articles, rather than creating new articles. That way any mistakes you make will be small ones, and you won't have the discouraging experience of repeatedly seeing hours of work deleted. Gradually, you will get to learn how Wikipedia works, and after a while you will know enough about what is acceptable to be able to write whole new articles without fear that they will be deleted. Over the years I have found that editors who start by making small changes to existing articles and work up from there have a far better chance of having a successful time here than those who jump right into creating new articles from the start.
