Re: Unprotection of Bachmann Thomas and Friends[edit]

Dear Stifle, I noticed that back on 11/4 you removed the SProtect on the Bachmann Thomas and Friends article which had been SProtected 2 weeks earlier due to breach of 3RR. This is just to let you know that since the SProt was removed, myself and Discospinster have started to revert on this article again, 3 reverts and/or removals of stuff which breaches What Wikipedia is NOT since 11/11. We will leave it a little while but if this starts to become a problem again, could you look at SProt'ing the article again, or possibly going for a full protect? Thanks for your help. Thor Malmjursson 13:22, 15 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've semiprotected the page again. May I please ask that in future you would avoid using edit summaries to give messages, carry on debates, or give warnings? It is not the purpose of edit summaries. Thanks. Stifle (talk) 15:31, 23 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Esperanza[edit]

Welcome, Tmalmjursson, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact our administrator general Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

Disambiguation[edit]

Per WP:DISAMBIG, you don't disambiguate pages unless a need exists to do so. If and when you or someone creates the book series you speak of, you can disambiguate that. Until such a point, there is no need to disambiguate a television series when no other article exists by that name. – Someguy0830 (T | C) 00:27, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Copy of Network Abuse Report sent to Castle Hall School / re Edit to the Magic Key.[edit]

This is a copy of a network abuse report I supplied to Castle Hall School in Yorkshite today concerning vandalism to Wikipedia from one of their IP addresses:

Dear Sirs,

I wish to report to you that a user or users unknown, working from an IP address registered to your School, the IP being 217.207.225.66, have this afternoon at14:20 hours vandalized an article on the English Language Wikipedia, located at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The Magic Key.

The article was blanked, meaning that the user removed all content from the article, and stored/saved a blank page back to the site.

As users of the site would normally get warned or blocked for vandalism, we would ask that you keep an eye on those persons using your network, since this IP address has already been blocked once for vandalism, and the blocks normally get extended each time one is applied, and can result in an indefinite ban being placed against editing from this IP address.

We thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Yours Faithfully,

Thorsteinn A. Malmjursson
