Hello[edit]

Hey Banes you around? I had a few things I wanted to discuss with you about the UPA. Let me know ASAP please because I must get to sleep in a while :-D KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 06:32, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure no problem nothing big, I just couldn't sleep I had a few things on my mind...I think I'll be able to make it. Thanks KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 06:35, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I meant I'll be able to make it at 16:00 UTC lol. ttyl KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 06:38, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Banes, if you have the time I'd like to discuss the UPA now. Let me know thanks. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 15:04, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks i'm in the Esperanza IRC channel. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 15:06, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

User page[edit]

Hi Banes! I noticed you added some things to your user page. Unfortunately, you can see the letters pass the boundary of the design. Just to let you know that if you adjust the height value you can get around this problem! I've already fixed it for now, but if you happen to modify your user page again, you can take a look at the diff and see what I changed. Fetofs Hello! 10:59, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe firefox doesn't adjust this automatically ... Well, anyways, you can always ask me to modify it if you want. Fetofs Hello! 11:16, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations[edit]

  • I congratulate you on your adminship, and wish you all the best. --Bhadani 12:35, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

See latest v.com blog...then you'll know why! :D--ViolinGirl 12:56, 2 February 2006 (UTC) (aka Chipmunk)[reply]

Woot for you! That's terrific! Yeah, I'm fine. I lived through the anesthesia, and now am just dealing with the swelling...(thus the nickname, Chipmunk Cheeks). No joke, it really looks like I'm holding two lifesavers in my cheeks...:D Other than that, and occasionally some pain (to remind me to re-apply the ice), I'm doing fine. What's up with you? Enjoying your new buttons?--ViolinGirl 18:43, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oohh, that sounds like fun. *sigh* I love kayaking...only did it once or twice, but I really enjoyed it. It's only about 7C (I think...45F) here...which is warm for a Febuary day. Actually, no snow on the ground, and I imagine that's some sort of record, because we've gotten snow on Mother's Day before here! I can only imagine the nice weather where you are. Ha ha! Have a nice rest-of-the day!--ViolinGirl 19:20, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Admin coaching begins[edit]

Hi, Banes! User:Gryffindor/AdminCoaching is no longer a red link, so please add it to your watchlist and take a look! :) Thanks, Sango123 (talk) 22:40, 2 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! I'm an eavesdropper too. ;) As for coaching, I think we should give the user subpage a try since it allows the coachee to respond in a more thorough, thought-out manner. But if progress seems too slow, then IRC it is. What are your thoughts? Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 21:50, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My RFA[edit]

Hi Banes/Archive 10, thanks for participating in my RfA discussion. Unfortunately, my fellow Wikipedians have decided at this time that I am not suitable to take on this additional responsibility, as the RfA failed with a result of 66/27/5 (71.0% support). If you voted in support of my request, thank you! If you decided to oppose me at this time, then I hope that if I do choose to reapply in the future, the effort I will make in the meantime to improve and expand my contributions to Wikipedia may persuade you to reconsider your position. All the best, Proto t c 10:33, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

UPA[edit]

(Edit conflict:) Sounds good, I left Rune a message with all that we talked about yesterday. He's been very busy from what I understood from him, so we should go ahead and make the changes we think should be made. If you'd like we can do it now I'm in the Esperanza channel. :-D KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 10:36, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, the delay allowed me to get more coffee :-D KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 10:49, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RfA Thanks![edit]

Okay, this is perhaps a bit overdue, but thank-you for your support in my recent RfA! I passed with a final vote count consensus of (82/1/0), which was a lot of support that I really appreciate. I'll try to live up to the expectations; and on that note, if there's ever something I do wrong (or don't do right), please spit in my general direction. Cheers! --PeruvianLlama(spit) 05:31, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

UPA[edit]

Are you there? Sorry, I just got time to be on my computer until now. Do you want me to announce the results already? -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 13:20, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, I can wait. We could give an "honorary mention" to the 2nd and 3rd places. -- Rune Welsh | ταλκ 13:26, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You around? If so I'm in the Esperanza channel..:-D KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 14:55, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry I missed out I had to run.(I wonder if you got onto IRC with Rune) I've left a message on the UPA's talk page feel free to add any comments if you like. I've also added my congrats to Essjay: If I may jump into your conversation with FireFox, I don't see anything wrong either. I've blocked about 10 IP's with no warning, (It was a vandal who kept switching IPs, the range was so huge a range block was out of the question IMO.) KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 17:45, 4 February 2006 (UTC) :-D[reply]

Re: Blocking[edit]

Well, that's no problem. You won't get in trouble, but you seem to be showing some development of admin-rogueness (which is always good). If it was me, I would have warned them with test4, seeing as the IP kept changing so there isn't a huge need to block each one. Keep up the good work, and congratulations by the way! Random discussion[edit]

Well...we're getting your desire for weather right now...rain! :) Actually, this is very unusual for us in January. I'm not sure if I mentioned previously, but we have gotten snow on Mother's Day before...snowless is very strange, but I'm enjoying it. I don't know the exact stats for the amount of know we get/year, but we've been quoted as being the snowiest city in the United States. You said, "I still dont know what was going on in my page history..." Me, neither! :) As to RL...I'm doing fine (better!)...yesterday was my worst day, but I'm feeling a lot better today. (I even had a donut today! WOoooot!) How are you doing?--ViolinGirl 23:32, 4 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wow...now that IS spooky! *shiver* Praise the Lord for your safety! The only main thing going on with me is listening to this on a CD with my brother while working around online on misc. things. I'm seeing how well I can get around without a mouse...for some reason, mine's not working, and I don't feel like rebooting to fix it. ;) >grin< Cheers!--ViolinGirl 19:24, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If I was without a keyboard, I would be totally lost. I live on keyboard shortcuts. Eventually, though, I did have to reboot because I have Windows Media Player set up to stay on the top of all other windows, and I couldn't remember how to get it down to skin-size. :D My keyboard only starts messing up after lunch sometimes. :D The new article is...not "coming". I'm the kind of writer that writes a full six-paragraph sentence and then deletes the whole thing starting over again. Since I couldn't practice yesterday, I finally got two REALLY long e-mails written which had been hanging over my head about a week (long time in cyberspace, you know). Anyway...cheers!--ViolinGirl 20:48, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, what a great idea...downloading rain! Look, if you find a link, PLEASE give it to me. A sound machine is something I'd really like to get sometime, and downloading rain sounds like a great idea! (Well, rain isn't better than Bach, but it is pretty, I'll grant you that! ;)) Re:article thieves: I'm actually hoping someone will help me with it. Maybe someone who is a hedonist (and understands it) can help me...that's partly why I posted it up there. Ciao!--ViolinGirl 21:03, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Pardon the intrusion, Banes, sir, but for downloading rain... if Google can't help you, I think a good place to look is in the audio CD selection at your local library (or maybe at the library of a nearby college)--sometimes they have really great sound effect collections (we're talking a whole row of CD's with tracks that might be anywhere from 5-15 minutes long ^^). As for this article; I was wondering when that'd pop up! XD But more on that at someone else's talk page. Weien 03:51, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wassup Banes![edit]

Wassssuuuup! Sorry about this self-impossed absence, dear Banes - but I see your request was properly addressed by Sango in a matter of minutes. Maybe we're spoiling you! ;) Thanks so much for the beautiful words and the wonderful pic - you really, really touched me. Anyways, what's truly important is that you're doing fine, and that I'm back full time, hopefully for a while. Btw, congratulations on the great success of the Esperanza userpage award, to you, KoS and Rune - with people like you guys at Esperanza, I'm sure the project will only get greater and greater as time passes. I'm glad to have collaborated at least a little bit with a few nominations - including the winner! ;) Kisses, Phædriel tell me - 01:36, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Care to look?[edit]

Hey Banes, I'll see what I can do about writing that article <raises eye brow> Care to look and see if this is understandable, and more importantly acceptable lol. [1]

The "dispute part" you are talking about is "If you see that two editors are in a heated discussion concerning an article you are not familiar with, and you see that something should be done to calm things down. (i.e. preventing a violation of the WP:3RR or WP:NPA) How would you mediate?" If so what link do you think should be removed? KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 18:37, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That better? [2] :-P KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 18:44, 5 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello![edit]

Grazie for stopping by! Oh, and sorry about not responding to your other comment -_- --back when we were talking about poetry, that is. But to finish off that discussion, I was just thinking about 'political' poetry the other day, and how it go beyond biting, to being moving. For one, several months ago I started a poem about the Rwandan Genocide, after watching Hotel Rwanda. Though, I only managed one verse to date; hopefully I'll be able to finish it before long. I guess we'll just have to see ^^.

Oh, and many congratulations on admin-ship! I was wondering if I should vote, but feared the possibility of a relatively non-credible user's vote having the opposite effect, sorta to the "meatpuppet" effect. But more importantly (since I'm sure a "haven't known him for long, but..." vote would've been fine :D), there were plenty of supports all along ^_^. So yes. Three "Cheers!" Thank you[edit]

Hi, Banes. I saw the "shindig" annoucement on Wikipedia:Esperanza. But thanks for inviting me anyway. Thanks, even more, for caring enough to re-read my statement, and coming back 20 minutes later to revise your message. It means a lot to me (both that you invited me, and even more that you tacked an addendum to it). This still isn't easy for me...I'm still struggling to "give up" wikipedia, (even though I still am on, if you know what I mean). I'm not sure what God is trying to teach me through all this, but I have a feeling it has something to do with trusting him to give me the friends that are His perfect best for me...because right now, I honestly have no RL close friends...at least, no RL friends that I see often enough to really count. I guess maybe God is using this to cast me full on him...God "grinding me to powder" so I will "fall on this Stone (Jesus Christ)". [3] Anyway...I guess that was a little RL-ish for Wiki...but I hope you understand. Thanks for supporting me in this.

And didn't someone :) have a great idea about rain? :D *comes out of super serious, "gloomy" mood* LOL! Have a nice day!--ViolinGirl 01:19, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mm, too bad that won't work for you (library). And, rhyming dictionary...I think somewhere in my archives someone mentioned one online? You may want to check there, I don't have time to scrounge around for the actual link for you this second, but I'm pretty sure there's one in there. Re:CLEP: Either 2.14.06 or 2.21.06-I haven't decided yet, I'm not sure when I'll be ready. Thanks for asking, I appreciate it. Have a nice day!--ViolinGirl 15:58, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
LOL, don't worry about it. Hey, it wasn't as bad as this...:D That Google toolbar does it all...(seriously, it has a spell-checker, so you can double check anything in a web form before you submit it. I use it all the time.)--ViolinGirl 12:26, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted resources 210.84.41.77[edit]

Good morning Daniel,

We noticed that you reverted all webpages that we have previously updated (IP 210.84.41.77).

We do not understand the reasons for such a decision. Please note that:

1) all submitted resources are NOT spammy links but relevant webpages containing listing of accreditated universities/colleges ranked by web popularity in each country.

2) 4icu.org is a reputable international education directory selecting and reviewing world-wide Universities and Colleges. 4icu.org includes 7000 Colleges and Universities ranked by popularity in 200 countries.

3) each university/college included in our database is reviewed according to the information directly received by many of the institutions included and through an "Error report" option available to all visitors.

4) we continuosly update and upgrade our database by contacting all Universities included and though the above mentioned "Error report form".

5) we do not include affiliation links or open universities. To guarantee the quality of our database we include accredited universities only in accordance with the International University Association (UNESCO) information and guidelines (see http://www.unesco.org/iau/) and other national accreditation institutions.

6) 4icu.org is extensively linked by many reputable organisations.

7) 4icu.org is the parent website of other two reputable website available at 4icj.com and 4imn.com

We kindly ask you to review your decision and reinstate the previous submissions.

We look forward to receiving a brief reply on this matter.

Please do not hesitate to contact us, should you require further information on the 4icu.org directory.

Thanks,

Fabio

(answering our anon) I noticed when the List of universities in South Africa page was updated. I checked the references - there were a mere 30 universities linked, considerably less than the number already on that page, therefore adding nothing. I checked the contributions from the IP, and saw a consistent pattern of visiting Lists of Universities, and adding (admittedly contextual) similar links - pages with adverts, encouraging the visitor to 'add another university'. Please check What wikipedia is Not. In summary, your (210.84.41.77) link added nothing of value to the page, and there was a consistent pattern of the same to many other pages. Wizzy 07:13, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Andy,

Thank you for your reply. I take the time to inform you about a few points which might help you to better revise your decision:

1) Our South African webpage http://www.4icu.org/za/ contains 18 Universities. This number is not much less than the number of organizations included in the International Association of Universities' (Unesco) listing available at http://www.unesco.org/iau/onlinedatabases/list_data/s-nw.html#South_Africa That listing includes most of the ACCREDITED universities in South Africa. The South African Ministry of Education http://www.education.gov.za//Educ_Related_Sites_Folder/unitech.htm and SAUCA http://www.sauvca.org.za/about/memberins/ both include a similar number of universities.

Moreover, we do not include open universities, minor higher education institutions or organisations which are not officially accredited by the National Bodies of each country (e.g. South African National bodies: http://www.unesco.org/iau/onlinedatabases/systems_data/za.rtf). The listing provided by the International Association of Universities is a good starting point to learn which higher education organisations are accredited and, therefore, REPUTABLE. The quantity of links is not a good indicator of the quality of a webpage or the links included.

2) All links available in our listing webpages (e.g. http://www.4icu.org/za/) lead - when clicking on them - to a webpage with a review for each university. The review includes some information directly collected from those Universities which have replied to our Update requests (please see our previous emails). The links do not lead to the University websites only. This should add some value to the Wikipedia listing. An Error report form is available for any visitor who wants to report additional information or incorrect information. Most of the time, we receive these type of reports directly from representatives or students/alumni of the universities.

3) Our directory includes about 6600 universities around the world (see http://www.4icu.org/reviews/index0002.htm for a listing by name). Currently the only country listing which does not include any university is Afghanistan http://www.4icu.org/af/ where, unfortunately, the technological situation probably does not consent to establish an internet presence. Our database does include Afghanistan universities but we prefer to publish only those organizations with a website and internet presence. However, for each country, we include an option "ADD A UNIVERSITY" to let visitors suggest - free of charge - additional higher education resources. No registration is required and all personal data are collected according to our privacy policy.

4) All universities are ranked by web popularity. This is an approximate indicator of the relative popularity of each higher education organisation within a country. This help international students who want to study abroad - and might not have a good insider knowledge of the major higher education organisations available in each country - to choose a popular university. This ranking is a unique feature of our website and do add some value to the Wikipedia listing.

5) Our directory has Google Page rank of 6 and an Alexa Traffic Rank of 332,000. These figures do not justify a "spamming need".

6) Our directory is open and free of charge to visitors and to the included organisations. Adverts are the only source of income which can help to update and maintain the site. I am not sure whether Wikipedia includes external links to non-profit sites only. We do not include affiliation links or receive sponsorships by the higher education organisations included.

Should you consider the above considerations sufficient to reinstate the external links as useful additional resources to the wikipedia webpages, I would be glad to submitt them again in accordance with the Wikipedia policy.

I would also be happy to contact you or any Wikipedia supervisor by phone to better illustrate the above points.

I await for your reply and thank you for your time.

Kind regards,

Fabio

(Banes, we will use your talk page for this discussion, thanks). Fabio, There are some guidelines on wikipedia regarding External links.

In summary, I did review your directory the first time, and if you had added it to just List of universities in South Africa, it might have squeaked through (but see my reservations above). However, the mass adding is not something we can condone. Wikipedia is an important, reviewed, resource, and is subject to many attempts of bringing other web pages to a wider audience (as you are doing).

I appreciate the reviewed nature of your links, I especially appreciate your courtesy in asking for consideration, but you must also see things from the project's perspective.

I suggest :-

  1. Using a logged in account
  2. Maybe moving this entire discussion to your talk page (If you had had a talk page, I would have looked at it first before asking for reversion of your additions). This will give others perspective, as they will surely see your pattern as well.
  3. Add links more slowly, and comment them appropriately (I think your previous comments were fine)
  4. A comment on the talk page supporting your position

However, you still fail on item 9 above, and I cannot guarantee you success long-term.

UPA notice[edit]

Hey Banes, Rune created two new notices, for the UPA, they are on my experiments page could you take a look and let us know what you think? On an other note I got your email, agreed :-D. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk 17:55, 8 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Banes, I’ve been working on trying to integrate those new templates into the UPA page. I've rearranged a few things, but something still doesn't seem right. I think it's the award template and one of the new ones, they are side by side, and don't interact very well. Thoughts, changes, and criticism are more than welcome :-D. [4]. It's Friday morning, so a little later today I'm going to add this weeks scores to the archives, and then mark tomorrow as the next start date.

On 20:01, 6 February 2006 you blocked User:Skull 'n' Femurs for 24 for "personal attacks, edit warring, and pov issues." Please review users recent contribution history, especially [5] after I wrote him [6]. I believe a stern warning would be appropriate, and another block premature, but I leave that to your decision. Hipocrite - «Talk» 14:45, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No rush. Don't feel pressured to do anything untill you are 100% - ask whoever for assistance, or just dodge it entirely - I think what you did was more than adequate. Give him a cooldown period, I think. As long as it's only me he's attacking, it'll be fine, because I've turned over my new "unanonyable" and "I can fix it later" leaves. Hipocrite - «Talk» 15:01, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Though, if you blocked him for any length of time you'd have my support. Hipocrite - «Talk» 15:27, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It's not really clear on the 3rr thing. Honestly, I think that he may have violated it, but it's very edge-casey. I also may have violated it, but I thought what I was fixing edit conflict errors (actually, it was just bad-faith editing on his part, but whatever). I just can't be bothered right now. I'll fix the article in user space and move it over later. Hipocrite - «Talk» 15:36, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm actually in agreement. He doesn't care about wiki policy, Hip and I seem to agree on some of the changes (regarding emphasis use of italics) All SnF is doing is reverting with no care for what other changes get stepped on. After numerous issues with the user, I can no longer assume good faith.--Vidkun 15:38, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The problem here is, like User:Basil Rathbone, User:Skull 'n' Femurs has been blocked before, and came back and started doing the same things, again and again.--Vidkun 16:40, 9 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
He also loves posting extremely sarchastic or combative comments on the talk:freemasonry page. [7][8]|a personal attack against me fresh off of his ban today[9] oh did I mention.. those are his last 4 edits. Seraphim 02:43, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sup Danny![edit]

Well, Dan, don't mention it ... 80 times! ;) No thanks are necessary when it comes to help a friend, hun, so forget about it. I see our dear sango has already helped with the userboxes border, but although your other request seems possible, it's not something I would do in a couple of minutes - would you mind giving me a day or so to experiment, please? In all truth, I have a tremendous backlog for userpage designs (I think I won't take more requests for the moment), and every time I feel like actually writing or creating something encyclopedical, I get the feeling I'll never be able to get started :( You and my other friends, however, will always have the priority ;) I'll show you the results of my experiments later, hun, kisses! Thanks for the response. By the way, I checked out your Wiki homepage. Pretty impressive that you're an administrator and are only 17. You seem really smart. -- Andrew Parodi 09:06, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Young Wiki Admins[edit]

12? That's pretty amazing. You young folk make me feel so stupid. :) But that's the cool thing about Wikipedia -- you can find people with something interesting to say on this site. On the rest of the Internet that can be more of a challenge. -- Andrew Parodi 10:50, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree. For the most part, people are nice here. I've had a few difficult situations, but I got past them. And it is nice to finally find a place where people are willing to talk about interesting/intellectual things. I had to learn the hard way that most of the Internet is not geared toward that. -- Andrew Parodi 11:04, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coaching and stress[edit]

Hope your stress dissolves soon! Take care, Sango123 (talk) 18:24, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Banes, thanks to the coaches and the coachee, session one of admin coaching went really well; we even have some theft! :D As for session two, I was thinking of getting practice with the test templates (e.g., Foo submits a copyvio; what warning should you use?) Your thoughts? Sango123 (talk) 18:24, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Glad to hear! :D Would you mind adding to User:Sango123/Moldy fluff? Sorry, it was the least conspicuous name I could think of. :) Cheers, Sango123 (talk) 19:01, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Just dropping by to say hi...[edit]

Hi, Daniel, how have you been? Just dropping by to say hi...what's up with you? Hope everything's going well...this not resolved yet? I'm doing okay, normal stuff...juggling violin practice and school is NOT easy...but other than that...anyway, just wanted to say hi! Talk to you later...--ViolinGirl 20:30, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Was your dropping by about the random page? 'Cause if so, I did notice, and replied...I think it's somewhere ^^up there. No worries, though. Too bad about RL stress. I hear ya'. Thankfully, the pull of the internet isn't so strong as it was even a week ago, so it's becoming easier for me to practice/study weekdays. (Today's my day off, it always is.) I peeked at the Beck Depression Inventory thing...that's WEIRD. Strange. Can't people tell if they are depressed or not? Hmm...I'm VERY upbeat, almost all the time. My mom says, "You live up here and only occasionally stoop to here <using corresponding hand motions to illustrate her point>." Yeah, the wisdom teeth are "practically perfect in every way" now. I got out the stitches last Wednesday, what a relief! I'm convinced that the surgeon sewed my cheek to my gums, because as soon as they were out, I could smile easier...seriously! And re:violin practice...oh, yeah, strings...they are something else. I'm VERY persuaded that my violin was mad at me for the wisdom teeth experience, because when I got back practicing, I was tuning up, and she (yes, my violin's a she) dropped instantly. Normally she's very easy-going, but she got temper mental with my lack of practice, I do believe. Ah well...randomness is good.--ViolinGirl 20:53, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, just saw your other message. No, not the fourteenth...Thursday and Friday I focused ALL DAY on practicing, forgetting about studying, and Saturday, I went shopping with my brother and mom, so...I'm going to have to see if I can make it for the 21st instead...yikes!--ViolinGirl 20:55, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh. I forget about my watchlist often, actually, and no, it's not watchlisted. My violin is a Chinese violin, I think the luthier's name is Yuan Ji...it's really just a student's violin, I'd like a German or Italian violin, but that will come with time, I'm sure. :) Her name is Heather. ;) Piano, too, that's nice! Trisdee was advising me regarding concertos, but I have yet to pick one up yet.--ViolinGirl 21:02, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Debussy, unfortunately, is not a favorite of mine. :P I only played the Cathedral because it was my last piano recital (with my teacher, e.i., last lesson, etc) and she really wanted me to play it. ::rolls eyes:: Also...are you proud of my userboxes, now? I can't believe the fights that have been going on in reference to the userboxes!!!--ViolinGirl 21:16, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's nice that your brother's a professional pianist! Piano is okay, but violin has really expanded my understanding of it. You said, "I'm not a huge fan of userboxes myself." Oh, really? I couldn't tell. :) Your userbox at the top kind of gives it away. --ViolinGirl 21:23, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This section...:)--ViolinGirl 21:27, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
But, am I justified in my opinion, do you think?--ViolinGirl 21:32, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks...I just don't want to be rude. Yeah, I have to be going, too. Nice talking to you today. Talk to you some other time...God bless, and yeah...I'll try my best for the test! Hope RL gets straightened out for you.--ViolinGirl 21:38, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another Esperanzial note...[edit]

Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".

The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.

Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,
