Disambiguation link notification for January 11

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Information icon Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: you may already know about them, but you might find Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace useful. After a revert, these can be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. They can also be used to give a stern warning to a vandal when they've been previously warned. Thank you. CatcherStorm talk 07:22, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

Twinkle

I'd highly suggest activating and using the Twinkle gadget on a regular basis before requesting rollback. In your situation, it'd help greatly with fighting vandalism because it makes the process of reverting edits and placing user warning templates semi-automated. It also includes its own rollback tool which you can use. Once you have become proficient with Twinkle, then I'd suggest that you move on to request rollback so you can use more advanced tools like Huggle and STiki. But for now, try Twinkle out. Looks like you haven't yet. CatcherStorm talk 07:28, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

  • @CatcherStorm:. Thanks a lot for the information I will do so from today.-BRPever (talk) 07:39, 12 January 2016 (UTC)

please understand the difference between cross-dominance and ambidexterity and look at what i changed.

Mexico, Illinois

Why did you undo what I did? The history should begin either with the first people who settled in the area, or mention prehistoric peoples who preceded them. After all, some mound builders were active in Will County before the French came around. It's silly to say that the very first people in the area were Indians contemporaneous with the first explorers. 76.181.192.61 (talk) 17:13, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

I think you may add the context but removing the context is not good if you wish to add the information and remove the old one give proper source.--BRP ever 17:25, 19 January 2016 (UTC)

Rollback granted

Hi BRPever/Archive 1. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Coffee // have a cup // beans // 20:30, 22 January 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, BRPever. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

You are now a pending changes reviewer

Hi BRPever! I've been running into you in recent changes patrolling and I happened to notice that you don't have the pending changes reviewer user rights. I hope you don't mind, but I went through your contributions and I noticed that you're quite active in recent changes patrolling, and you consistently view and undo vandalism and disruption to articles. I believe that this user right would be useful for you to have and that you'd make good use of the tool. Instead of having you formally request the pending changes reviewer right at WP:PERM, I just went ahead and just gave it to you. This user right allows you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes and either accept them to be published and viewable by the general public, or decline and revert them so that the pending changes are not published.

Keep in mind these things regarding the tool or when you're reviewing any pending changes:

  • The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.
  • Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you additional "status" on Wikipedia nor does it changes how you can edit articles (obviously).
  • You'll generally want to accept pending changes that appear to be legitimate edits and are not blatant vandalism or disruption, and reject edits that are problematic or that you wouldn't accept yourself - especially those that are vandalism or have neutral point of view or BLP issues.

Useful guidelines and pages for you to read:

I'm sure you'll do fine with the reviewer rights - it's a pretty straight-forward tool and it doesn't drastically change the interface you're used to, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into any troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the user rights and accepting or reverting pending changes. If you no longer want the pending changes reviewer rights, contact me and I'll remove it. Thank you for helping to patrol recent changes and keep Wikipedia free of disruption and vandalism - it's a very thankless job to perform and I want you to know that it doesn't go unnoticed and that I appreciate it very much. Happy editing! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 02:40, 10 February 2018 (UTC)

I noticed that you tagged the page Kawasaki ZZR 400 for speedy deletion with the reason "not english". However, "not english" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can propose the page for deletion if it appears to be an uncontroversial matter, or take the page to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for discussion on the merits if you still seek deletion. Thanks! IffyChat -- 13:11, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

Teopoetica

Just a note, but being in a non-English language is not in-and-of-itself a valid reason for speedy deletion. In order for it to be it has to duplicate an existing article on a non-English project. This one doesn't since on pt.wiki it redirects to Adélia Prado. So I have followed suit and redirected it here as well. If there is no equivalent non-English version, no obvious redirect, and no other CSD criteria apply, best to tag the article with {{Not English}}, which adds the article to Category:Wikipedia articles needing translation. GMGtalk 13:15, 22 March 2018 (UTC)

Hello @GreenMeansGo:, Thanks for the information. So if the article is not copied from another wiki and is not in english we use {{Not English}} template instead of speed deletion right? I was unaware of that thanks.-BRP ever 13:22, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
Yup. The CSD for non-English articles is pretty much designed to keep people from lazily copying content from other language projects, without really doing anything to improve enwiki. In short, if you want to read an article in Spanish, you should go to eswiki, rather than reading a Spanish article here. Another possibility, (if you know someone who speaks the language and can vet the article) is to have it actually copied over to the other language project, so that we help improve that project, and qualify it for WP:A2 here. If you ever need any help feel free to drop by my talk, and thanks for helping out with NPP. GMGtalk 13:25, 22 March 2018 (UTC)
