Your userpage[edit]

I have deleted your user page. It is intended for basic information about yourself or your Wikimedia-related activities. Although a lot of leeway is allowed in personalizing your user page, it is not a personal website, blog, or social networking medium, nor should it be used to promote yourself, or host a fake article, CV, or lengthy biography.

Please do not be offended, and please feel welcome here. I encourage you to help build the encyclopedia. If there is anything you ever need, just ask. Best wishes, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 04:08, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --Aurora Melissa McHenry (talk) 06:53, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

proof of life:

If you check out WP:NOTMEMORIAL you will find some of the reasons there is a problem with your user page. Your excuse here "proof of life" falls under that. Please note that there is no "right" to edit here, no right to publish about yourself, etc. Wikipedia isn't owned by the public or the government, it is owned by a private not for profit corporation. They are free to limit access or content in any way they choose, just as any other corporation (IBM, Sears, Walmart) is free to limit content on their websites. In this case, the Foundation has left content decisions to the greater community, who has determined by policy that these kinds of pages aren't appropriate. You aren't the first person to have a similar page deleted. In fact, you probably aren't even the 1000th.
Having personal information about yourself here is fine for letting others know something about you, but we aren't a tombstone, an ancestry directory or free hosting website. We are an encyclopedia. While we are pretty flexible about how users utilize their user space, the community has long ago decided to put limits on the use. I can only guess you don't know what "Obstruction of Justice" means, but it doesn't mean what you think it does. And being someone who knows Anna as well as anyone here, I can speak with authority when I say she is anything but a bitch, and in fact is quite mild and agreeable. On the policy here, she is absolutely correct.
If you are interested in helping us build an encyclopedia, Anna is probably one of the best friends you could hope to have. I would suggest moderating your tone, perhaps apologizing, and speak WITH her instead of AT her. You are likely to learn something as she isn't just a well trusted administrator, she is a remarkable editor. If your only goal is to create an ancestry page, you probably should just give up and move on to another website. Community policy is crystal clear on this, and continuing to act in an abusive manner will get you blocked from editing. Dennis Brown - 08:49, 3 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
