your vague arguments at AfD

Hi. This is more of a followup to the post above this one. I have seen your participation in a few AfDs. I also recently pinged you at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Sorry (2017 film) (2nd nomination), and around two weeks ago at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Main Maike Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo. Both of these discussions are still ongoing, and you have been asked for your input, due to your previous vague arguments to "keep" the article. Kindly read WP:Clearly notable, and WP:JUSTA. Although not binding, I suggest you to provide sources for your arguments or to retract them. Again, it is just a suggestion; please feel free to ignore it if you'd like.     • Hi, am disappointed with your attitude which borders harrassment - just because you ping someone does not mean they must respond, and the provision of sources is as much for the nominator as for the keep voter and votes are not retracted on the urging of the nominator. Regarding my arguments being vague, if your arguments were so strong the articles would have been deleted regardless of my input. As you are probably aware in Europe with the copyright restrictions and so forth not all Indian websites are available due to early measures by those websites so searching is more difficult. Regarding Main Maike Chali Jaungi Tum Dekhte Rahiyo sources were provided by another editor and although you tried to discredit them your argument has not been supported so I waited to see other editor's opinion of the sources. Regarding the Sorry article the question is most importantly whether the article has been faked rather than sources because if it is a fake it can be deleted as a speedy deletion G3.         • I apologise for my comment looking as harassment, it was definitely not my intention. In short, what I am trying to say here is, it is a good practice to provide sources when the argument says nothing else than "Keep as there are enough sources for WP:GNG to be passed" special:diff/864964257; especially if it is the first vote. That was my point. Nothing more. And regarding the pings, if an editor states "it passes GNG", "has reliable sources", and no sources have been provided in the discussion by anybody; the sources should be provided while making the comments like them. If sources are not provided originally, and someone else asks that editor particularly for the sources, and even then if the sources are not provided; then how is the community supposed to know if the editor really even performed the search, or simply commented "has sources"?

It puzzles me how lack of significant coverage, recreation of a deleted page without draft, lack of verifiability of any biographical statement in this article, and relying on one Deadline article is outdone by a couple of episodes on a tv show, when all articles are about fictional character not the actress and none of those sources are even given.     • When I have the time, its as much your responsibility as mine and Im not listing anything except when I add references to the article. See WP:PROD where it states that a prod can be removed for any reason and if you disagree to take it to AFD not bother the deprodder and tell him to rewrite the article. The Evening Standard review is quoted on their website and they do at least have an entry on allmusic but no bio. If it had not been for the Evening Standard I would not have deprodded it. The readers do not appreciate articles suddenly disappearing when there is the possibility that they can be improved. My outlook is trying to prevent reasonable articles from being deleted and if I spent all my time on one article another ten might be deleted in the meantime, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 19:35, 21 November 2018 (UTC)

Cite AV media help

An editor who is also a programmer told me he could use help writing instructions on how to use templates, specifically Cite AV media. Yes, I know that well. I live in a cold climate that my dog loves. The double coat protects him. He hates the summer, won't walk in it. But I can walk him in 10 degree (F) weather in the winter when the other dogs (and owners) won't go outside. He was diagnosed last Christmas with diabetes, but he's getting along OK with daily shots and prescription canned food. Stubborn guy, stubborn but lovable.

You moved Draft:Jayasri (Band) on the basis, in part, of "notable label Sony". I think you're reading more into the mentions of Sony than they merit. Picking one item from the list, "Rootsie Boopsie", Discogs shows it's a Papa Winnie record, nothing to do with Jayasri. Those albums in the table which clearly claim to be Jayasri's all lack a major label - Planet Entertainment Europe, Ransilu Asia, Saranga Asia, M Entertainment Asia, Lotus Records Austria EU, Jayasri music. All of them redlinks - and I've tried stripping words from the end of the names and still found nothing. So I ask, what credible claim of significance is there? Reverts on those libraries

Hey! Not saying you are wrong, just want to clear this up: Revert 1 and Revert 2. I did not see anything on either page that sufficiently establishes notability. For the record, libraries are usually not notable. As much as I hate to say it (take a look at my userpage, I care a lot about making library pages) they are almost always shut down. Library systems, on the other hand, are indeed notable. It's just the standalone library that is not. There is extensive coverage linking systems with notability on the WP:LIBRARIES project, but time and time again individual libraries fail. (If something has changed in the past few months where the general consensus says individual libraries are notable, please link, because I would love for it to be true, I've just never seen it). The two pages I moved would easily result in "merge" at AfD due to poor references. However, AfD isn't a tool to decide to merge articles which is why I took it upon myself to move them as I did. I'll create a RfC if need be, but they are very weak pages covered more than enough in the main library system page. SEMMENDINGER (talk) 20:08, 4 December 2018 (UTC)

No worries, take your time. I don't think seniority of editors has any bearings on notability however. Simply put, the articles do not pass GNG. Frances T. Bourne Jacaranda Public Library has all primary sources from the friends of the library. That's not notable. Gulf Gate Public Library has two references, one is the local newspaper which isn't the best for establishing notability, and while the other is good, it's not in-depth coverage of the topic. The library is one out of 50 on a list.. that's not notability. So honestly, they would fail AfD, regardless of who is editing them. I'll bring them to RfM if I must, but I figured I'd talk with you first and see if those redirects make sense instead. Let me know. SEMMENDINGER (talk) 00:34, 5 December 2018 (UTC)
      • Hi, personally I'd like to see all librarys included as they have similar notability to high schools in local coverage which is acceptable for most topics except companies and brands. Your removal of CSD-tag on Mister Supranational

Hello. I noticed that you removed the CSD-tag with the edit summary "has extra content and references since the Jan 2017 AFD", but how do you know that they're "substantially different" (which is what is needed to decline a CSD G4), considering that you're not an admin, and did not take part in the AfD-discussion a year ago? That there would be some differences is obvious, since the 2018 pageant, which is mentioned in the article, hadn't taken place when the article was deleted at AfD, but that does not make them substantially different. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 18:45, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

  • There's no practical difference between "substantially identical" and being "substantially different", so it isn't a higher bar, and if we're going to nitpick the first sentence in the section about criteria for CSD G4 actually says "This applies to sufficiently identical copies, having any title, of a page deleted via its most recent deletion discussion", leaving a lot of room for interpretation. But regardless of that your post above doesn't answer my question: what I would like to know is how you could possibly know whether they were sufficiently/substantially identical alike or not, considering that you're not an admin and didn't take part in the AfD-discussion. Because if you don't know for sure whether they're sufficiently/substantially alike or not you can't decline CSD G4-nominations. The recreated article has been deleted, BTW, for being the creation of a sock of an indefinitely blocked user, just as I suspected it was. - Tom | Thomas.W talk 12:29, 10 December 2018 (UTC)

    • Apologies for changing your post that was a typo, the answer is that the AFD said that were no references at that time and the new article had 2018 content and 4 references which means it was not substantially identical. Red (John Stevens album)

I see that you've reverted my edit on Red (John Stevens album) and its talk page. That's fine... if you can provide a source for the info that's been tagged as cn for 2.5 years. I'm working on a huge backlog of articles on the jazz project's cleanup page. 2 years of being tagged as needing a source counts as a challenge to the accuracy of the info (biography or not), so cutting the info is fine. The only source for the article doesn't mention "jazz" either, hence my removal of the genre and talk page link to the jazz project. Do you have a source for the challenged info and the "jazz" label?     • Hi, sorry for the delay. Earlier tonight I did a search of Billboard without success and tomorrow will have a longer look, if I can't source it then will revert my edits. Regarding jazz genre if it was on the Billboard jazz chart that should be enough, Allmusic review describes one of the songs as "swinging" but they dont give the genre as jazz but their genre specifications are not acceptable apparently.As said will look into it more tomorrow, thanks Atlantic306 (talk) 22:49, 12 December 2018 (UTC)
Ok, thanks. Billboard jazz charts contain a lot that isn't jazz (unfortunately). Almost anything containing one or more tracks that Sinatra once sang, or with a band member known for jazz, or with a tinkly trumpet, gets on there. Willie Nelson (Sinatra songs) and Paul Simon (Wynton Marsalis etc) are on there at the moment. And you're right: AllMusic can't be relied on for much (unfortunately, again). Cross-wiki CSD requests

Hi, you recently removed a tag that on Fatema Ismaeil إسلام placed on an article using a custom reason that amounted to “This is not notable and I’m a sysop on a project where people can actually read the sourcing and tell if this person meets anything close to your inclusion criteria.” as not being a valid reason for CSD. When admins and editors from other projects place CSD tags, they are likely not going to know our bureaucracy so they almost always use custom reasons. I do this whenever I need to request a deletion on another project as I only speak English and cannot decipher their deletion pages. Admins are not robots and are capable of reading the reason and matching it with policy.

In this case, I’ve deleted the article as a clear A7. If you run into further issues with ar.wiki editors and things like this, please consider reaching out to Alaa or another ar.wiki sysop who is active on en. ar.wiki is one of the projects that does the most to collaborate with en.wiki on addressing cross-wiki spam, and having their users not help us anymore because our users can’t think to read the article in question is less than ideal. Article in danger

The article about famous German musician is in great danger of being deleted. The deletion claim says that he is not notable. That not true because he's has 3 million+ subscribers on YouTube and a verified twitter account. His songs have reached #1 in many charts. I won't say that the article is good but it obviously shouldn't be deleted. You are the best Wikipedian I know for biography. So can you please help improve the article and remove the deletion claim?

      • No worries, and it's all good since I misunderstood your edit as well . Anyway, the triangle is only about a fifth of an acre, so it's very small. I find that for areas less than 10,000 square feet, the square-foot measurement is easier to visualize since it's such a small number. Hi, you deprodded the above article with the reasoning "having a set on a C4 channel is a claim to pass WP:NMUSIC as well as being the best in their genre within their regional locality". I'm going to take it to AfD, but I just wanted to check that you were talking about the live set on Project4.tv, and their EP being number one in the Yorkshire newspaper list. I don't agree with either of those reasons, but I'll explain everything in the AfD - I just wanted to make sure I had understood your two points correctly. Thank you very much for removing the advert tag. May I ask you for your help please? I want Wikipedia no matter in what language to be the ultimate source for information and the most trusted online encyclopedia.

'Sarawat Yai' is a famous Thai crime Novel. It's been made into a miniseries once in 1989, and already have an article for it in Thai Wikipedia. So when the remake came out this year, I did some research and wrote an article 'Sarawat Yai (2019 TV Series)' with ample references, but the admin deleted it. I also created the disambiguation page because 'Sarawat Yai' also refer to a rank of ROyal Thai Police, the admin deleted that too. He wanted the novel, original miniseries and subsequent remakes to be in one article. I tried to tell him that this is not Wikipedia way of doing it, cited 'Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Television'. When you search for the terms 'Sarawat Yai' in Thai google now the knowledge graph give a confusing set of information. I told the admin it's important that we must separate the each remakes and give it an aritcle because no remakes are ever the same, he refused to listen and totally disregarded 'Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Television'. The knowledge graph for Sarawat Yai is like.....The title is of the remake , but the cast and production info are all mixed up. You dont know whos in which version and what. It's a ridiculous looking knowledge graph. Can you please help make this right, he treat to block me if I have any more attempt of creating same article.     • The sources are not good enough, see WP:BIO. For inclusion in blps information must be sourced from reliable secondary sources, the supreme court is a primary source as is flickr and marriage records, the newspaper counts but it can't be checked without subscribing so is not enough, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 20:05, 4 March 2019 (UTC)

Supreme Court is a primary source of what? Primary source means associated with the subject or published by the subject. WP:BASIC on WP:BIO says it should be secondary and all these are secondary. I uploaded the version of that subscription to flicker for people to look at and I can upload the readable version of the newspaper also.   • See WP:Primary sources, a picture of a birth certificate is a primary source and unacceptable as are the other sources, as the newspaper is unreadable. Infobox cricketer

Hi. When you edited Tarun Kumar (cricketer) you re-introduced a number of infobox errors into the article. These should have shown up when you previewed the article. Specifically the innings and not out parameters do not exist. A bunch of us are currently trying to clear up as many of the errors in the template as possible - we've gotten it down from over 8,000 to less than 150 - which is why I spotted your edit. In addition,, per WP:OLINK we don't link major geographical entities such as major countries. India certainly constitutes a major country. Stylistically Right-handed is better - and is one of the two options specified in the template documentation - and we almost always use long dashes rather than short ones to show "blank" stats: at least, that's the general style used by WikiProject Cricket I think. Hello,

On April 23 you moved Draft:Neil Sabatino and Draft:Mint 400 Records to draftspace, along with Draft:List of Mint 400 Records artists. I've been trying to help Pacific305, who doesn't seem to understand what happened to those pages and why. I'm also a little confused as to why 5 year old articles were moved to draft, rather than being edited in place to resolve any UPE or COI concerns. Pacific305 admits to being Neil Sabatino, and to having edited those articles although he has not done so using that account. Assuming what he says is true, that would represent improper COI editing although it would not constitute UPE.  Would you please visit his talk page and discuss your concerns about those articles with him? Hi, one was deleted A7, two of the others he moved straight back to mainspace where I prodded them. Then after some improvement to the article he deprodded one of them. Some of the articles such as MPs are obviously notable so for the time being I think its best to treat each article on its own merits but if problems still persist after a couple of weeks perhaps a report at WP:ANI will be needed. Concerning the Labia Theatre and its nomination for deletion

I hope I didn't come across as unreasonable or callous in my nomination for deletion of the Labia Theatre article. Ultimately, I simply want the article to abide by Wikipedia's guidelines. This is why I hope to improve the article over the coming week and get it to such a point. That means I want to ensure that:

1) The article uses multiple credible, third-party sources to demonstrate the subject's notability. I've been searching for these, and although this opinion is tentative, I believe this can be done. I won't grasp at straws for sources, but I don't want the article removed if it can be established as notable – I'm effectively going for a weak keep. Because I'm still uncertain of this, however, I am not electing to withdraw the nomination at this time (see: WP:SOURCESMAYEXIST). I'm tackling this issue first since time is of concern. Basically, it's a save the rec center plot where the stakes are minimal, the pacing is garbage, and the protagonist and the antagonist are the same person.

2) The plagiarism is completely gone. Since the edit history of the article is rather short, it shouldn't be difficult to find and remove the offending lines (I already know of two).

3) All claims be properly sourced per WP:CHALLENGE.

4) The article is neutral, especially insofar as promoting the subject.

I should note that one of my biggest concerns with smaller, less active articles like this is that they're often ripe for abuse, as shown by the article's state a few years ago. It's evident you've been exceptionally vigilant in monitoring the article in recent years, and I plan to add it to my Watchlist as well for extra coverage if the article is kept.

    • I legitimately don't think there are any protections for historical importance placed on the theatre. I can't stop you if you want to take a look, but it would seem bizarre that the theatre isn't even mentioned by e.g. the South African Historical Society, that the achievement isn't documented on their website, and that I can't find anything about such a protection elsewhere. Do take a moment to check out all the new features if you have not already done so. If anything is not working as it should, please let us know at NPR. There is now also a live queue of AfC submissions in the New Pages Feed. Feel free to review AfCs, but bear in mind that NPP is an official process and policy and is more important.

QUALITY of REVIEWING

Articles are still not always being checked thoroughly enough. If you are not sure what to do, leave the article for a more experienced reviewer. Please be on the alert for any incongruities in patrolling and help your colleagues where possible; report patrollers and autopatrolled article creators who are ostensibly undeclared paid editors. The displayed ORES alerts offer a greater 'at-a-glance' overview, but the new challenges in detecting unwanted new content and sub-standard reviewing do not necessarily make patrolling any easier, nevertheless the work may have a renewed interest factor of a different kind. A vibrant community of reviewers is always ready to help at NPR.

Backlog

The backlog is still far too high at between 7,000 and 8,000. Of around 700 user rights holders, 80% of the reviewing is being done by just TWO users. In the light of more and more subtle advertising and undeclared paid editing, New Page Reviewing is becoming more critical than ever.

Move to draft

NPR is triage, it is not a clean up clinic. This move feature is not limited to bios so you may have to slightly re-edit the text in the template before you save the move. Anything that is not fit for mainspace but which might have some promise can be draftified - particularly very poor English and machine and other low quality translations.

Notifying users

Remember to use the message feature if you are just tagging an article for maintenance rather than deletion. Otherwise articles are likely to remain perma-tagged. Many creators are SPA and have no intention of returning to Wikipedia. Use the feature too for leaving a friendly note note for the author of a first article you found well made or interesting. Many have told us they find such comments particularly welcoming and encouraging.

PERM

Admins are now taking advantage of the new time-limited user rights feature. If you have recently been accorded NPR, do check your user rights to see if this affects you. Depending on your user account preferences, you may receive automated notifications of your rights changes. Requests for permissions are not mini-RfAs. Helpful comments are welcome if absolutely necessary, but the bot does a lot of the work and the final decision is reserved for admins who do thorough research anyway.

Maybe you missed that there were two edits?

There's a broad consensus that negging is a coercive and manipulative behaviour (obviously, that's the intent) so I added a couple of sources making that point. I also removed some text that was sourced to "Negging Women - 10 Awesome Negs That Work", for reasons that are, I think, obvious, and I changed [[Seduction community|pickup artist community]] to [[pickup artist]]s because seduction community is a redirect to pickup artist.

Let me ask you a serious question. Have you ever voted to delete an article? If so, why? If not, why not? Yes, I've had that album on my watchlist for some time... I was waiting to see if it received any more coverage after its release, but there's been nothing, and it hasn't charted anywhere.   • Reviewers are requested to familiarise themselves once more with notability guidelines for organisations and companies.

Assessment: The script at User:Evad37/rater makes the addition of Wikiproject templates extremely easy. New page creators rarely do this. I think you should rethink moving articles in the mainspace into Draft space after they have been in the main space for 12 years. "Draftifying" is usually done for new articles, not for articles that have been around for more than a decade. The article creator has long left Wikipedia and the chance that any random editor will work on this draft are highly unlikely. I can almost state with 100% certainty that unless YOU choose to improve this article, no one else will be touching it and it will be deleted in 6 months as a stale draft.

Please do not move articles that have existed for years into draft space unless you know the article creator will be available to improve on them. Otherwise propose them for deletion through AFD or Proposed Deletion. Moving old article to draft space is not saving them, it is just a slightly slower road to deletion. Liz Read! AfroCine: Join the Months of African Cinema this October!

After a successful first iteration of the “Months of African Cinema” last year, we are happy to announce that it will be happening again this year, starting from October 1! In the 2018 edition of the contest, about 600 Wikipedia articles were created in at least 8 languages. There were also contributions to Wikidata and Wikimedia commons, which brought the total number of wikimedia pages created during the contest to over 1,000.

Live and Let Die (film) and Diamonds Are Forever (film) alterations

After viewing documentary and other televised programs about these films, These documentaries clearly state that the films Diamonds Are Forever released in 1971 and Live and Let Die released in 1973 are co-productions between the United Kingdom and the United States. In the opening credits of Live and Let Die, the U.S.A crew is credited, if the film was not a co-production, it would not have used a U.S crew. In Diamonds Are Forever, scenes were shot at Universal Studios which is based in the United States, which also means that Diamonds Are Forever is also a co production. This can be found on IMDB: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0066995/locations?ref_=tt_dt_dt

  • You need a better source, it's not listed at the American Film Institute which lists all US films, and just because it uses a foreign crew doesn't make it a co-production as it's where its registered for tax purposes that determines it and IMDb is an unreliable source. New Page Review newsletter November 2019

Hello Atlantic306,

This newsletter comes a little earlier than usual because the backlog is rising again and the holidays are coming very soon.

Getting the queue to 0

There are now 816 holders of the New Page Reviewer flag! Most of you requested the user right to be able to do something about the huge backlog but it's still roughly less than 10% doing 90% of the work. Now it's time for action.
Exactly one year ago there were 'only' 3,650 unreviewed articles, now we will soon be approaching 7,000 despite the growing number of requests for the NPR user right. If each reviewer soon does only 2 reviews a day over five days, the backlog will be down to zero and the daily input can then be processed by every reviewer doing only 1 review every 2 days - that's only a few minutes work on the bus on the way to the office or to class! Let's get this over and done with in time to relax for the holidays.

Reviewer Feedback

Would you like feedback on your reviews? Are you an experienced reviewer who can give feedback to other reviewers? If so there are two new feedback pilot programs. New Reviewer mentorship will match newer reviewers with an experienced reviewer with a new reviewer. The other program will be an occasional peer review cohort for moderate or experienced reviewers to give feedback to each other. The first cohort will launch November 13.

Second set of eyes
  • Not only are New Page Reviewers the guardians of quality of new articles, they are also in a position to ensure that pages are being correctly tagged for deletion and maintenance and that new authors are not being bitten. This is an important feature of your work, especially while some routine tagging for deletion can still be carried out by non NPR holders and inexperienced users. Read about it at the Monitoring the system section in the tutorial. If you come across such editors doing good work, don't hesitate to encourage them to apply for NPR.
  • Do be sure to have our talk page on your watchlist. There are often items that require reviewers' special attention, such as to watch out for pages by known socks or disruptive editors, technical issues and new developments, and of course to provide advice for other reviewers.
Arbitration Committee

The annual ArbCom election will be coming up soon. All eligible users will be invited to vote. While not directly concerned with NPR, Arbcom cases often lead back to notability and deletion issues and/or actions by holders of advanced user rights.

Thanks for your comment. Much appreciated. I wasn't sure if/how to respond so apologies if posting this in the wrong place. You suggested the article required a reception section with more sources. The film has yet been released so there are not any reviews available. The soundtrack was released and is mentioned on numerous other wikipedia pages of artists who appeared - but I can't link them to this article until it gets approved. I would anticipate adding a reception section once the film is released following International Premiere next week. Appreciate your guidance. Many thanks

    • Well, that's good that they are your own words. Regarding insight, there is currently an effort by a number of editors to completely delete articles about fictional characters that are just plot summaries without real world context - hundreds of them are being deleted which I don't always agree with. So adding more plot is harming the Captain Rex article because it is swamping the real world context. If you want to improve the article please add real world context to it such as information on the creators, the cartoonists and how they developed the character and how the character has been commented on by real media in reviews and articles, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 01:10, 11 December 2019 (UTC)

This year's Reviewer of the Year is Rosguill. Having gotten the reviewer PERM in August 2018, they have been a regular reviewer of articles and redirects, been an active participant in the NPP community, and has been the driving force for the emerging NPP Source Guide that will help reviewers better evaluate sourcing and notability in many countries for which it has historically been difficult.

Special commendation again goes to Onel5969 who ends the year as one of our most prolific reviewers for the second consecutive year. Thanks also to Boleyn and JTtheOG who have been in the top 5 for the last two years as well.

A recent Request for Comment on creating a new redirect autopatrol pseduo-permission was closed early. The hope is that this will allow us to improve the accuracy of our patrols for articles using these sources (and/or give us places to perform a WP:BEFORE prior to nominating for deletion). Thank you for taking the time to visit Alida Anderson. I need some further guidance as to what to do next... I followed your link to Page Curation, but I do not understand how I can use that tool (or even if I'm authorized to use it).

As I understand it, your tag indicates three things: "promotional content", "inappropriate external links", and content "written from a neutral point of view."

I need help in removing the "promotional content" and "inappropriate external links" - would it be possible for you to point those out? I've reviewed all the links and clearly I'm missing something.

I'm also a little confused by the "neutral point of view" issue, but that I can review and tackle.

Thanks for the quick feedback! I have fixed the page as you recommended... I had used "seminal" because the reviewers had called the book "the first book to..." but I deleted that adjective as recommended. I also deleted the self quote -- I used that because I've seen this technique used regularly in many articles about academia - but I took it out as advised.

Thanks again the quick response and let me know if/when the tag can be removed.

Confused about "Astley and Bedford Colleries"

Hello Atlantic306, I am confused about a page you were involved with, and I wondered if you could explain to me about how things work. I was poking around pages related to speedy deletion, looking to see how I could be helpful in that area. I found a list of the pages currently tagged for speedy deletion, and checked out Astley and Bedford Colleries, which redirected to Astley and Tyldesley Collieries#History but had been tagged for deletion on the grounds of "implausible typos or misnomers." I thought that maybe a bot had considered the names too dissimilar, but I was curious so I went to the article page for Astley and Tyldesley Collieries and found a statement, citing a reliable source, that it used to be called Astley and Bedford Colleries. I clicked "contest this deletion" but that just added to the article's talk page. Reading the speedy delete tag more closely, I decided it would be OK for me to delete the tag, since I was sure it didn't apply, so I did so. Then I looked at the history of the page, and saw that the redirect had been created and then flagged for deletion by the same person!!! So I think I have two questions: 1, a practical question: how can a person be helpful with speedy deletes? (Sub-question: Did I do anything wrong when I was poking around?) 2, out of sheer curiosity: why did you tag your own redirect for a speedy delete?? One person opining that a source is reliable is not in and of itself proof that I was wrong — especially not when we're talking about a topic that's overall so little-covered that Uproxx is among the most substantial sources that can be found at all. If a person had dozens of strong, notability-supporting sources evincing a very clear pass of WP:GNG (which is not just "number of footnotes >= 2", bu takes into account additional factors like depth and range and context), then I wouldn't really care if their article was using a bit of Uproxx for supplementary sourcing of stray facts — but if a person has so little coverage that you need to make Uproxx a load-bearing pillar of whether she even gets over GNG in the first place or not, then it's no magic bullet by itself if it's the best you can do. Bindu (Sri Lankan film)

Hi Atlantic306! You removed the PROD notice on Bindu (2009 film) saying "has reliable sources coverage such as Sri Lankan Sunday Times". The issue is not verifiability (there is a Sri Lankan site that lists all released Sri Lankan films), but notability from independent sources. "Articles on such a film should assert that the film in question was notable for something more than merely having been produced, and if any document can be found to support this, in any language, it should be cited." Newspapers list almost all films that are about to be released or are currently being shown, so that alone is not enough to establish notability.   • Hi, useful information is at WP:BLP. Basically all information about a person needs to be referenced to WP:Reliable sources so that the reader can check that the article is correct and to stop vandals adding fake information.   • WP:REFB but it's a bit complicated, basically if you give the reference a name such as ref name=Newspaper within the ref template then give the full reference, you can then just put ref name=Newspaper/ within the ref template when you use it again without repeating the full reference it will then be rendered as a b c in the references section, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 23:56, 6 February 2020 (UTC)

My mistake for not noticing that Ms. Fulton's Wiki page already mentions Sarah Vaughan, Red Garland, Wynton Kelly and other famous artists, as influences. I saw that this morning, when I read through her article. Quoting from The New York City Jazz Record review (page 25) would have been redundant (especially for the important opening paragraph). However; it is a nice piece; very informative (by Mr. Henderson) and should go somewhere as a verifiable third-party source.

I don't know Ms. Fulton (never met her), but she is obviously very talented or Alex Henderson would not be so complimentary of her musical abilities. I enjoy reading The New York City Jazz Record, as we spent a lot of time in New York City in the 1970s. And, if I can help a struggling artist with their Wikipedia page, that's something I like to do. I added the NYCJR CD review as a third-party source, after the review by Jazz Times (Reference #18). Another editor (more knowledgeable of her career), can now quote from it in the body of the article, if they so desire. Take care.

Hi, I don't think that playing in a notable league makes the club notable. Otherwise, we would have thousands of clubs from the English 20th tier (such as from Bristol and Avon Association Football League), or even from the Italian 9th tier (Terza Categoria). There is not clear guideline for clubs as there is for players, so we need to check WP:GNG (which, in my opinion, the Greek club doesn't pass). Nehme1499 (talk) 20:50, 3 March 2020 (UTC)

    • I'm not disputing the notability of the league, rather that of an amateur club which just gained promotion to the fourth tier of Greek football, an amateur competition. The article just says that the club is "a Greek football club based in Kato Kamila, Central Macedonia, Greece." Usually the club should have at least played in the domestic cup competition (Greek Football Cup), which only clubs from tiers 1-3 can qualify to. Also, the other clubs might have played in higher tiers in the past. Not all of them have the 4th tier of Greek football as their highest point in their history.   • Unfortunately there is very little online content related to Pakistani tv series that are not currently airing so offline sources are needed and to avoid institutional bias there is often a presumption made as per WP:TVSERIES that those offline sources do exist, imv Atlantic306 (talk) 00:36, 24 March 2020 (UTC)
    A serial like Romeo weds Heer, which airs on Geo TV too, has numerous online sources.   • The difference is that series was broadcast in 2018 and the references were gathered at that time according to the access dates whereas this one was broadcast in 2016 and the article created years later. Do you consider yourself an inclusionist? I noticed you #vote keep in most AFDs you participate in. It's almost as if you don't want any article getting deleted. It would be nice if Wikipedia was a platform where everyone can have an article, but this isn't the case. I personally do a thorough search on Google before nominating an article for deletion or participating in an AFD discussion. I personally feel like you are very sympathetic in AFD discussions. @Versace1608: don't really appreciate being cross-examined as if voting keep was a crime. The facts are that I've actually voted delete at least 300 times at AFD, probably 400 - I've participated in 1000s of AFDs, and have started about 21 AFDs myself including one that finished this week in a merge result. Also see my User:Atlantic306/CSD log where there are a lot of G11s apart from the G13s. I've noticed that you have become a lot more deletionist lately particularly in the Superthriller AFD where your comments were very unfair in my view. To start with you didn't find any extra sources yourself and then when I found a full Times articles and reviews in The Guardian and NME you still weren't satisfied when there is more than enough for GNG with the AllMusic bio as well. Regarding AFDs one of the reasons I dont vote delete so often is when I do a full search it often takes over an hour so I tend to concentrate on articles that are likely to be notable rather than the poorer ones which get deleted anyway, regards Atlantic306 (talk) 02:14, 5 April 2020 (UTC)

    • False. Here is a copy of the script--it's crude, and there's a critical typo here, but it's the best I could find. Anyway, the important part starts with "Faline does it and runs away. When Bambi is jumping a crag a gunshot is heard. Bambi falls down [w]ounded." In the very next scene, his father commands him to wake up, but Bambi struggles to get up. Why? I can't link because I used my library proxy, but a 1942 article on the movie (captioning images from the film) has "IN MAN'S WORST INVASION OF THE FOREST, Bambi is shot while defending Faline from the dogs.     Well, the Saturday Evening Post article is talking about the changes made between the Bambi novel (in which Bambi's cousin is shot and killed, and in which Bambi isn't shot) and the Disney film. It doesn't say that Bambi getting shot isn't in the movie. " The NYT and Guardian articles say it happened, and the Guardian article doesn't say that scene was cut in those 2000 ft. There is no sign of any footage, and the Bambi article has been up for more than a decade and since ive been watching it for the last 4 and a half years no-one until now has added Bambi being shot, in my view. Help With Underlined Passages

Hi there, I am always trying to improve my editing skills, I added back some of the old edits to make the page flow better, but it looks like you made a comment about "independent?" is that because I don't have any other independent sources? I know we talked before about this page with lack of negative or other viewpoints, and I tried to find some but I could not. In that case would it be better to just not put any quotes in there?     • Thanks, I was referring more generally. I like your approach of trying to keep articles very tone neutral. If I am working on an article where the only references say "thing X is the bees knees" but I find no balancing counter that says, "yes X is the bees but not quite the knees" how should I handle that? Although the first reference is not necessarily promoting X there is no counterbalance. Hopefully that makes sense. I would like to hear your perspective on how you handle that.   • Hi, the source of the review is important; for example if it is in a publication which is a reliable source, preferably a national one, then it would be ok to quote it but it should not be claimed that an album or band was met with acclaim etc when there are only a couple of reviews.
