Short descriptions[edit]

Hello! I see you have added (or imported from wikidata) short descriptions on some Biographies of living persons (BLPs) using the Shortdescription Helper tool; but the additions I noted didn't include dates. The advice I've seen is to include them (if known); but I think technically they are just "encouraged" not "mandatory", as seen on the Short Descriptions page. (You can find discussion of this, with examples, further down the page at WP:SDDATES.)

class parameter[edit]

When you add a WikiProject banner, please can you not add |class= (e.g. [1]) because this parameter should be added to the banner shell, not the individual banner. Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:32, 15 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @MSGJ! I'm aware of the distinction. In fact, I too wasn't satisfied with the closing braces being added to a new line, but this seems to be the default in Kingbotk which I'm using for convenience as my own regex had some false negatives. Apart from the few extra bytes, does having a redundant |class= parameter otherwise have any negative impacts or break any other templates or bots? If need be, I can definitely copy the plugin's regex into the native advanced find and replace and modify it. If you know of another way the plugin can be modified, by all means.
