Adding userpages to categories with this template[edit]

Inappropriate As the article Allah states, "allah" is simply a word in Arabic that applies to God. Since Arab Christians, Jews, and Muslims all use the word to refer to God and they all believe in only one God, it is inappropriate to add users to Category:Muslim Wikipedians. If you change the wording to something else then it would be appropriate. -Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 00:33, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

a) templates/userpages don't need to be categorized, so uncat template was unnnecessary. b) regardless of the academic arguments put forth at AfD, this userbox will generally only be used by Muslims. No one else is going to refer to god as "Allah" or use Arabic writing. Equazcion /C 00:40, 14 Apr 2008 (UTC)
That's Equazcion's opinion. I know a fair number of people, who, were they Wikipedians, would do so, so it is beyond me how Equazcion can so confidently assert this. In any case, anyone can customize the userbox for their own use.... I have. It says, "This user believes in One God," and, since I'm a Muslim, it also adds me to the category. If anyone who does not wish to identify as a Muslim does want to use the userbox, and does not know how to make the change, I'll do it.... --Abd (talk) 01:01, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Suggestion Maybe you should include the instructions on this page between <noinclude> tags. -Justin (koavf)TCM☯ 02:05, 14 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
